EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Beazley CEO Departs For Australia; Hipgnosis hires

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Wednesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Beazley PLC - London-based insurer - Chief Executive Andrew Horton will leave Beazley at the end of March to become CEO of QBE Insurance Group Ltd in Australia, though not taking up that role until September 1. Beazley promotes Chief Underwriting Officer Adrian Cox to CEO. Cox has been with Beazley for 20 years and a member of the board since 2010. Beazley says it continues to trade in line with board expectations. It guides for double-digit revenue growth in 2021, with a combined ratio in the low nineties, indicating an underwriting profit. Beazley will provide a trading update on May 13.

Hipgnosis Songs Fund Ltd - Guernsey-registered music intellectual property rights investor - Hires Richard Rowe as executive vice president, effective immediately. Rowe was president of Sony Music Publishing from 1991 to 2005, and, according to Hipgnosis Founder Merck Mercuriadis, played an important role in bringing Hipgnosis peer Round Hill Music Royalty Fund Ltd to market in London.

Virgin Money UK PLC -Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England-based lender - Hires Elena Novokreshchenova as independent non-executive director, also joining the boards of subsidiaries Clydesdale Bank PLC and Virgin Money PLC. Novokreshchenova is executive vice president of International at Remitly, a digital remittance app. Prior to that, she was a manager at Expedia Inc.

Amiad Water Systems Ltd - Israel-based water treatment and filtration systems - Derek Zissman retires from board, effective immediately, having completed two three-year terms. Arie Schor now is the only statutory external director, so Amiad starts search for at least one new director.

Time Finance PLC - Bath, England-based finance provider to UK small & medium businesses - Chief Executive Ian Smith steps down as director, effective immediately. Smith's planned departure was announced last month. Edward Rimmer is brought in as interim chief executive. Rimmer was chief operating officer of Time Finance until April 2020 and was previously UK CEO of Bibby Financial Services from 2007 to 2012.

Oracle Power PLC - coal-to-power project in Pakistan and gold project in Australia - Hires David Hutchins as non-executive director, effective immediately. Hutchins held senior positions at fund manager at M&G PLC and currently is chair of the FTSE Gold Mines Index committee.

Thalassa Holdings Ltd - British Virgin Islands-registered holding company - Hires Tim Donell as CFO. Says Donell is a certified chartered accountant with over 15 years' experience at growth companies in travel, e-commerce and web technology.

M&C Saatchi PLC - London-based advertising agency - Hires Vin Murria as non-executive director and deputy chair. Murria was the founder and CEO of Advanced Computer Software Group PLC from 2008 until 2015. Murria currently is chair of Summerway Capital PLC and Marwyn Acquisition Co I Ltd. She also is a non-executive director of Bunzl PLC and Softcat PLC.

Iconic Labs PLC - London-based media and technology company - Hires Brendan O'Mahony, Willem van der Meer and David Stybr as non-executive directors. O'Mahony is a certified accountant who was a partner a EY Poland. Van der Meer is an investment bankers who founded AEK and Micro Algae Inc. Stybr is CEO of a Prague-based family office.
