I like this company and consistently good results but its never clear when to buy it. Small float and largely family owned so until there's a catalyst like they open 100 stores and issue a dividend, or suggest they want to sell the family silver, then its tricky to get the timing right. Its ranged from mid 20s to mid 40s with no apparent rhyme or reason.

Strong results which includes new stores opening, which makes the market reaction very puzzling.

2026 was an aggressive investment year with 13 stores opened, creating a drag on operating profit. Once these stores mature, we should see meaningful operating leverage. I think their 10% operating margin is ambitious, but could be achievable.

These latest quarterly figures make reassuring reading.

Doing the right thing and provided the pots and pans from Far East not stuck in a ship in the Middle East sales should continue to increase.

As no one can afford to eat out anymore home cooking with some quality equipment purchased at a John Lewis style store or smart online portal could be just the thing people need!
