I think after reading the rns the sellers have made the correct decision, A bigger loss than last year and reduced online sales is going to hurt this today?
Any sellers today are going to be way out of pocket, the results are going to be very good. The shops have done very well. I have watched the shops regularly every day during the Christmas period and the goods were going big time. I was going to post a message during business hours, but I thought no I will let them sell their shares and face the money they might made happy days to the shareholders. Harry
Due Friday, Let’s hope this pushes the share price up with hopefully news on excellent trading over the Christmas period?
This thread is nice and quiet which is often a good sign. It is also clear from the TR-1s that some people are accumulating.
I am very hopeful here for Friday and beyond.
It looks like a major shareholder Hudson Management have increased their holding from 4.8% to 6.25% that is 913500 shares it looks good to me. GL
Good spot on the numbers there.
That's a huge amount of downward pressure now relieved :)
Their last holdings form said they had 2,565,248 shares remaining so they must be out now. I expect this share will rise now that the negative selling pressure is gone.
2,565,248 shares sold in one go this afternoon. Is that Hoyle out now I wonder. TR1 incoming?
That is a really good spot. It's amazing what you can pick up through LinkedIn and Twitter.
LY will be last year.
In other words, we smashed our target and the same period last year.
Anybody know what LY would stand for in this context?

"Can’t thank my team enough for being absolutely amazing through the most crucial time of the year for us, helping to smash our target, LY and our biggest week ever!!!"
Dean Hoyle is 25% owner of Huddersfield Town football club and he is apparently trying to buy the remaining 75% at the moment. This might explain the timing of the share sales.

Thank you for that correction I was uncertain you are right it's 3% and not 5%
You have to announce 3% as the lowest threshold to cross. So one RNS left perhaps?
The Hoyle family are now at 4.1% holding from 6.5% the sell off has had no effect on the share price going up and up. I think when they hold less than 5% they are no longer a majority share holder but I might be wrong, I do know that they had a majority of the voting rights previously. In the share news another arts and crafts company Hobbycraft have shown a 7.2% increase in sales annually in the seven weeks up to Boxing day which also looks good for the Works results.
A lot of volume in the last few trading days. Today the system keeps going to negotiated orders. These shares look like they are going up in the run up to the trading update on Friday 20th January. GL

Text below:
Area manager Nick Harding told the Echo that Ringwood was a “perfect” location for the new store and that more shoppers are now leaning towards discount retailers.
“It’s a nice big unit for us, a good spacious size and we hope it’ll do as well as our other local stores. We’re continuing to expand in what is a difficult market but it shows the strength of the business that we’re still able to do that.
“The Works is showing to be a retailer of choice in what are difficult financial times for a lot of people. What we sell is not cheap, it’s value for money.”
4% of The Works shares were traded today. Prior to the New Year, Dean Hoyle only had 6.5% remaining to sell. It will be interesting to see what happens when he's finished selling.
I know that is wrong as I just put another £5k in here this morning so who knows what others buys or sells have been happening?
Just check how many TR1 RNS there have been over the months 17 since February 21
Hoyle family still unloading, I can see these shares getting cheaper before they go up there seems to be a constant sell off by them every week ?
I agree folks. My local works was heaving on Saturday. It's another case of people looking for good value for their Christmas presents. Bodes well in my opinion.
Keep the faith:)
I suspect you may be correct Harry. I also went into the local wrks shop and was heartend to see quit a few customers buying multiple items. Looking around the shop I was impressed by the prices which offered good value.
Hopefully the a good Christmas will result in an increased dividend.
I watched a Works shop for about 20 minutes today and the stuff was selling big style, in fact there were a few spaces on the shelves. I have checked their stock movement over a few days. And what with the 1.93 million shares bought today, I predict tomorrow either an increase in price or an RNS saying that there has been a director deal. GL
Somebody has just bought 1m shares 11:50 am
