I Just hope this drop is the market makers walking this down so they and their cronies can get into just before the £1 rise, and subsequent fall again, they they can buy, sell on the rise and leave us longer term holders holding the baby.
Jeez - it's inching near to £7 already. We need some good news.
A month until make or break time. Early December details of possible restructuring and results update, down to £7 or up to £10 , you takes your choice.
I’m in either way as hav £10 average, having taken a couple of dividends but closing st a loss isn’t an option.
It was interesting Sorell talking about an old bid for wpp a couple of years back from Buffet.

IMO a big shakeup is happening internally, the SP is already at a good margin of safety and I see little downside to buying at these prices. Yield is also a whopping 6.8% if they maintain or grow the dividend, which they have been doing for 25 years and have a comfortable cushion to keep doing.
He got stitched up by a rival on the Board who went squealing to the press. He'd been extra-curricular for decades and nobody batted an eyelid while the company was on the up.
' Martin bowed out'..? Well, that's one way of looking at it! My interpretation was 'Go, before we prosecute for misuse of company funds".
and that is recognized by BoD here and by the market. Ordinarily, punters would be hoovering but what if the need for this type of setup simply wont exist in a year or two? I don't know enough but you know what they say about ships turning round. What is bargain price for WPP? Or perhaps that's why Martin bowed out.
Ok guys, we're might be growing 0.5% less than we initially estimated.
..
..
OMG WPP is going bankrupt!! SELL SELL SELL!! Stock tanks 20%
Gotta love Mr Market! Give me my 6.5% yield on cost dividend :)
Second mistake all this Tosh ......... spoonfeeding the city never works ........... Best Wishes ALL.x
A very small change in profit & revenue and the market reacts as though the company has got leprosy! A well covered dividend and still making a profit. This will bounce back over the next week or so when the bargain hunters come a looking.
Another big British company going to the wall. The Americans will pick this up on the cheap in the next year or two, strip out the best bits, and take most of the work to New York. Sorrell must be wetting himself.
slight profit reduction on various currency headwinds, improved debt position and lower risk overall through disposal of higher risk peripherals ... and down 17%
.. sentiment is all it seems
Hmmmmmm!
Down 16.5% on reduced guidance, hugely blown out of proportion IMO and good buying opportunity. Divi is still well covered by FCF and earnings.
At this price it's totally under valued, I have picked up 20k at 1039.00 and it's only my opinion but I can't see this stock dropping any further, but I can see a bounce to over 1150.00 very soon and even that's cheap.
I am happy to hold and wait for 1400.00 and take my divided.
Good luck to you all what ever you decide.
Seems they are going through a minor blip - results due this week . Hopefully a buying opportunity .
Cheeky little 22p next week due next week, so sorrels new venture had little effect for both parties today them.
Personally I think the recent drop has been partially magnified by upcoming Sorell venture, but am confident that this is as much general market negative sentiment which will reverse when financial institutions see this as a very profitable, valuable company on its own with or without major competitors which China often bouy a stake market .
Some shareholders here are down on this stock due to the Sorrell fiasco...
I sold my WPP shares a while back, but I have invested in derr which
becomes part of S4 Capital, Sorrells new company when it
hits the market on 28th September.....Next Friday..I expect he will release
further news on or before the launch date, and expect a significant rise
on the day, some press over the weekend and a strong day the following Monday
on the back of press coverage. Shares in derr ( Derriston Capital) are still available
to buy, so IMHO you could make up losses in WPP by a quick trade on derr...
just to be open I have derr shares as I think he will make a success of the new company!
GLA!
What's more likely here is they will breakup WPP and sell off the remaining core to an American, German or Chinese firm over the next year or two.
lol hahahha how much you paying me for my DERR shares.
With recent agreements and acquisitions ( with little downturn in share price ) in Turkey, India and USA , we have a lot to be positive about here.
Miken: thanks for the update. But she seems to be flying a bit lately. Which is good news for us all.
Sector impact - Publicis (French Media Group) fall in second quarter sales, attributed to the EU's new data regime.
they'll wait for Sir Martin's new venture to float and then go in their with a hostile bid.
