Any info on why the big drop today please guys?
Thx for that, checked my a/c this evening, mine in too now. Bonus off nice rise today, this is a very tradable share( paying no stamp duty) and 30/ sometimes 40p price differences in a day.
Yeah had my divi yesterday morning inmy a/c.
Not sure if any other holders have had divinpaid today or not. Not in my account yet I’ve a/c with Iwebsharedealing
kantar (part of WPP) teams up with Alibaba in china
I’ve heard about buys showing as sells but are the totals accurate as here 2.5 more buys than sells ?
thecumbrian: yeah that baffled me also. Still trying to find out. May of just been a crazy spike with out reason. More assumptions. Bloody missed out on that one. Was a big spread on wed.
Not sure what happened yesterday spike up to near 1290, that would have been a nice sell for those that saw it. Nice to see rise today again, hopefully mid 1250 or above by end of week. ( or even more), also nice to see protest votes again HUGE board payments. I might trade a few if it travels towards the 1300 in the short term.
hopefully we don't fall to much
I’m more apprehensive than eager. But live in hope.
To be honest I haven’t a clue which way this will go, short or longer term. There is money to be made trading this, even intraday ( as no stamp duty paid ) but was shocked to see this drop today, so near ex div date and near to both its 1 year and 5 year low. The dividend will be much appreciated especially to the longer term holders, but I would not be as surprised to see this at £13 sooner than shocked to see it around the £10.50 mark.
looking forward to agm next week
just piling on, they are at least three months late with that call, so much negativity for this at the moment, my view is now is the time to buy.
So much for the broker forecasts of 17.50. Could we be back in the 10’s very soon. How professional the brokers are lol setting targets between 19.50-10.50. I think anyone could be a broker with them “accurate” spreads ha ha . Such muppets!!!
world cup will be good for this lot i expect
@ 13.59, target 18.00 minimum will consider adding if it drops.

Kantar boss Eric Salama is weighing up a 3.5bn sell-off of ad giant WPP's data and market research division, according to reports today. Salama has been running Kantar, the data, market research and consultancy wing of WPP since 2003, and is allegedly looking into the possibility of selling this part of the business in what could be the first step in its break-up. The ad group hit the headlines recently when its chief executive of 33 years Martin Sorrell stood down, following his board launching an investigation into allegations against him. Sorrell's departure fuelled speculation that WPP could be broken up by its board. A report in the Times today suggests that though Salama is reluctant to sell-off Kantar, he is still keeping the possibility of a sale on the table as he is sounding out backers for a potential deal. Salama is one of the internal WPP names in the hat to take over from Sorrell, alongside Wunderman boss Mark Read. Earlier this month, a memo sent to staff from Read explained that he did not think a break-up of the company made sense. But a spokesperson for WPP told City A.M it was too soon to speculate on any sell-off. They said:
The idea of a big consultancy such as Accenture, PWC or KPMG coming in with a mammoth bid for WPP was entirely plausible. "It is all about getting closer to the end user. And because the agencies are all involved in getting the new product development and strategic placing of the brand, it kind of gets the consultancy in at the very ground floor." https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/23/wpp-break-up-likely-following-sorrells-departure-says-tilbian.html
Dyson sees a consulting giant such as Accenture swooping in to buy the worlds largest holding company. "Without the ego challenges this type of big deal usually faces, I could see the WPP board being willing to enter into talks," says Dyson. "If that were to happen, Martins departure could well have been the catalyst for a new one-stop-shop form of marketing, one that also embraces consulting."
