Watches of Switzerland said pretax profit in the six months that ended October 29 fell to GBP66.5 million from GBP82.7 million a year earlier, while revenue was down to GBP761.4 million from GBP765.2 million. Basic earnings per share fell to 19.8 pence from 27.2p. Looking ahead, the retailer of Swiss watches said it kept full-year guidance unchanged, based on "sequential trading improvement and the large showroom refurbishments reopening pre-Christmas".
Operating profit down. That's whats spooked the market. Also disingenuous to say high earning showrooms were closed for renovation as they were all trading out of pop up locations.
Read ok to me.
Watches of Switzerland Group PLC will announce its H1 FY24 results for the 26 weeks ended 29 October 2023 on Thursday 7th December 2023.
The people in the know are adding this to their portfolio. Now HSBC has also uppedit to 759. My. eiw is it would reach 800 by end of next year or soon after.
H1 FY24 results for the 26 weeks ended 29 October 2023
What date range does H1 cover? I thought the next major update was due at the beginning of Feb ‘24.
This will not be substantially different from the update they provided on Nov 7th.
They may give an indication on how trading has been since then but that isn't part of the H1 figures.
7th Dec. Thoughts….
Recent luxury sector results have not been good. Burberry. Can’t see this being an overly positive report or helping the current SP!
There has been more buys than sells for the last few days but SP refuse to climb. Stake building?

Shortlisting will take place the week commencing 11th of December.
Little chance of a takeover. Too big for that and pe is way too low. Defense would be easy
Money what do you think this will go to before Xmas?
P/e of 11 for fast growing company - wouldn't be surprised if WOS is bid for. Bear market is over. Long live the new Bull Market King.
You may be correct. I was curious why SP started outperforming from the opening bell, before US numbers were in. Shorts haven't changed and no RNS as yet.
Tms Disagree. Happy SP has risen but there’s something else going on.
There is more than just US CPI figures driving WOSG. Pretty much everything is up today. Maybe sentiment has realigned. Maybe an RNS this week
The bull market bell in the U.K. has been wrung. Are you on board. 2 year bear market over. A new long bull run has begun. Losses will be erased fast. All this in cash and 5% money markets, time to panic!
And today’s CPI data, brought to you by Centri…the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, will be printed at 1.30pm (GMT). Immediately followed by a short period of algo driven market volatility, likely then followed by a longer period of ‘meh’.

Fwiw, 750p looks pretty good from a chart perspective.
I bet TMS has been in here when it was at £8 and never took his profits
What the market will soon pick up on is that the cost of living crises is simply not hitting the rich as much as it expects. This is a great company and will rerate over the next 12 months. Taken a 4% position here at 580. GLA
Yeah Money is deep under water on this one you can hear the desperation with the things he posts. If you cannot handle it Money don't buy.
People over at AFC are also getting fed up with you posting rubbish over there.
The market has not been fooled by the 3B finger in the air 5 year plan.
A 5 year plan is a cop out taken on board by the likes of the the CC debt investor known as TMS
Money is trying to bat off everyone while inside he feels sick more money down the drain Money.
