One share, one brain cell Mikey. You are a complete, mentally ******ed idiot & you getting very boring.
Its ok , dont worry , Read says his number 1 priority is to bring value to shareholders . Oh wait - he's been saying that since 2019 . At least some of the bigger shareholders are showing their anger according to the FT , maybe he will take the hint and go !!!!!!! - awaiting lord daniels reply
sotonspike. Well you just said what you saw, same as me, the D.J. up 600 points & vod on the nasdaq way up. I expected vod to open up about 2p to 3p this morning, so I was, & still am baffled. Still at least it proves blaming the yanks all the time is complete nonsense. Have a good holiday in Norway. I just hope with this blip, you can still affyord it!?
new ceo needed immediately
Well the Dow is having a blinder Nasdaq is even higher so should be a good day tomorrow c'mon Vodders....Am off to Norway next week so would be nice to have a good ending to the week just to make my hols a little bit better....
Sorry guys got that one wrong...me and my big mouth.....don't worry Dan just a blip thank god i'm on my hols next week away from it all....
God help us when America opens and drags us down even further as usual.
Trend line support from November 21 lows is around 120p so it could bounce from there.
It would have to get closer to the longer term trend line connecting Mar 20, Oct 20 and Nov 21 lows which is currently around 110p at the moment before I got interested.
So this drop is down to one broker downgrade - which is more a case of setting a more realistic tp.
Lots of buying going on in batches of 30k or so - maybe that's own share transactions?
"Surely this is worth a trade buy at 1.2268p"
I've had a bit of a dabble at this level... so it will almost ceratinly drop from here ;-/
That's one a hell of a downgrade in target price. A lot of the share price increase this year was due to excitement about M&A prospects, but now they haven't materialised VOD is giving up those gains.
I'll sit and watch this one for a while, as there's a serious risk that this market pullback could continue the for quite a while longer. Market reaction to a good earnings season hasn't been great, and the next season's earnings could be worse as the full effect of Ukraine, Chinese lockdown and higher costs filters through.
Don't be fooled by the big gains on the US markets yesterday. Just as things never go up in a straight line, neither do they go down in one. Nasdaq 100 reaction to 13000 support has also been fairly muted this week. If that breaks, we could be in for the next leg down.
Also a real risk of recession for UK and Germany at the moment, so VOD are going to have to pull a major bunny out of the hat to stop this slide.
Vod nasdaq , pre market showing -3.87%
Surely this is worth a trade buy at 1.2268p
There is a gap that it keeps trying to fill down to 122.14, it's had a couple of goes at it previously but not quite managed it. Hopefully it will happen this time and we'll bounce from that level... fingers crossed.
He certainly hasn’t come up with the one thing investors want hear now. A credible plan to pay down some debt. Seems to be suggesting more debt to buy more assets is the answer. I don’t agree with that tactic for sure.
Big cut in B of A share price forecast - seems they have no faith in Read either !!!!!! - been downhill ever since i left hey daniel
Shame the SP couldn’t hold above 130p after good numbers from T-Mobile on Wednesday.
With so many recession fears you would think Vodafone SP would at least be steady . Maybe a short term pullback with cash going back into NASDAQ/Tech for now.
Dont worry Read will save the Company - more like get a lovely payoff with a massive pension . He has done **** all since he has been in charge - the FT article shows what the major shareholders are actually thinking . Time to go and get somebody in who knows what he is doing . He gives a good talk at results but cannot follow through with it .
The blinder US market was having was a head fake. Amazon then came out with earnings and said it's all gone wrong. Apple had a great qtr, then promptly fell. Investors have no apetite for risk.
And now we are in to the sell in May and go away debate period.
Did somebody say it should be a good day today - it is vodafone you are talking about !!!!!!
Well the Dow is having a blinder Nasdaq is even higher so should be a good day tomorrow c'mon Vodders....Am off to Norway next week so would be nice to have a good ending to the week just to make my hols a little bit better....
Probably a good thing you sold, you don't have to worry about it anymore, not many shares are doing well right now, but the dividend income will be good untill things recover
Never fear - America is trying to drag it down again !!!
Dan i did say if we are winning the opposition gets silenced, Very quiet here today, at least the share prices are up, great to have a holiday in the sun looking forward to that, state pensiom coming end of july, but not decided when to finish yet, great to be outdoors in the summer time, but i expect it gets a bit boring in the winter
Robleo. Well said mate, & at the risk of inviting a knee jerk response (which I can take?) your point may apply to me as well. Just keep working for as long as you can, unless you have a very rewarding hobby to take up. As for needing a holiday, I have a week booked in June/July & a week in October. My real passion of course is skiing, but I struggle a bit with my fitness, but still hope to go next winter, I have a lot of catching up to do holiday wise after covid. If anybody fancy's a bet on me to win tomorrow's s/p close, I think you can get about 100 to one" Please keep the good humoured banter coming, I think we all need it? Perhaps Nick Read needs a holiday, any suggestions? NO, NO, I am only joking.
hopefully a better day tomorrow, everything's taken a beating down this week
