Doyen Dan , I like that one, very amusing, I have to admit it didn't register straight away
Where would BB without you ....atb
Thanks fleccy, I forgot about that. Roofer, can I change my prophecy to 74.5 please. (not that I am taking this proprecy thing too seriously?) O.kay.
I don't join in with these prophecy threads, but with the stock going ex dividend on Wednesday I'd probably aim at the low 70's, rather than the higher 70's. For the higher 70's to be feasible, the stock would have to consistently rise further going into ex dividend and hold, or increase, gains on Thursday. I'm not joining in, just pointing out some variables affecting the outcome.
Hello roofer. I will go 78p please if that is O.kay!
Why hasn't the proposed merger with Three pushed the share price up or is it becuse it could still fall thru?
75p for me please Bob
Roofer, many thanks for organising the weekly prediction. I for one enjoy this activity and look forward to it.

75.69 for me please roofer and thanks for organising each week much appreciated.
Can I have 77.8p for next week please.
Kay. I can't speak for Roofer, But I get very tired of idiots like you who have a problem with Roofers guessing game. If you don't like it, then tuff. Some of us do like it, & anybody who does not, they can just ignore it. Investing on the stock market is a guessing game unless you are a financial expert, so if you havn't got that by now, you are in the wrong game. If you are an expert however , then you are on the wrong forum.
Roofer, hindsight would indeed have been a wonderful tool here
many of my other shares have gone down then come back up on several occasions, but anyone that's been invested here over the past six years or so, will tell you they have kept waiting very passionately for this to go back up
anyway as a very wise friend of mine on here keeps reminding me, it's no good looking back, you just need to ask yourself do you think it can increase from where we are right now, well i think and hope it can, by how much i have no idea
It's been a much better week on the stock market since the announcement of reduced inflation figures to be fair
have a good weekend all
Beginners luck roofer61

Yes it's a difficult one protecting your capital when investing nowadays, long gone are the days when you could go on bbc2 finance ceefax tips page and the kind gentleman told you when to buy and main thing Sell , different world now with these bots , hindsight wonderful. If I had known then what I know now, how would of you played it ?, I guess that's the one to ponder instead of keeping your capital in savings acc....hopefully Vod gets back to 1£ ....atb
Roofer do you not get tired of playing this guessing game every week? can you please give it a rest. the accolade can all go to you if you can start by not making any more lists.
Accolade this week winner goes to and welcome to the podium " Talatum." Well done,

Its real hard to find 8pc 10pc blue chip divi companies now, prices of all on my watch list risen sharply sice the gov said inflation hugely down (!!!) so the effective dividends if bought now are less. wind farms battery storage property rental trusts were 10pc , not now.
i saw and interesting graph of inflation, the basket of things the gov uses are down, however if you take a basket of stuff used for owning a house cost, insurance to plasterboard, its not dropped at all.
From there up to 90p massive buys how long will a 10% yield stay so low

Long live the dividend, that's always welcome of course, but more important is getting back our loss of capital
Lets hope this can finally start climbing towards a £1 again there always seems to be something to knock it back down
Winter follows springtime.
Morning ends the day.
"Long live the dividend "
Best quote of the year for me
21s Short term it's probably not going to be much fun.
why... a guarenteed teturn of 10.6 pc and share price higher into the future... imo,,, if it drops more its likely attract foreighn bid, if div cut will upset institutions pensions and share price, reght now cause of last few days rise all the ones I was watching as greatland gold etc have risen strongly, cant see many now, 10.6 div makes this very attractive.
What do you think of rio tinto.
Demotion to FTSE 250 would only occur if the share price dropped by 80%, to a market cap of around 4 billion. Vodafone has been a dog of a share (I've be in for years), but it ain't dropping out the FTSE 100 any time soon.
Looks like gutter and jax have already given up again. Porsches puts are expired worthlessly.
All's good in the world.
