Looks like another sound uk business that could be vulnerable to PE buyout. the uk is an future economic basket case and it’s taking all the those of sound mind with it to the financial asylum
Won’t be long until the ftse is replaced by the Wild West AIM as the top listing in the UK

Its advanced technology is applied in every area of life. Could be easily be a takeover target.

This is the perfect time buying into this excellent company. We are 13 year low ! Good dividends with often specials and well run with a technology that has high barriers of entry. I expect both the business and share price to recover quickly. A must have in any portfolio to hold for the long term with steady dividends as a bonus.

Chilly macro factors and downbeat update, but I agree, ticks all the boxes for a PE buyout. Expected.
Net cash, amazing balance sheet, special dividends will return...why is this in the 1500's?
Short seller rigging the markets yet again
High chance of bid

Held since 2015 and the share price is about the same as it was then in nominal terms, notwithstanding a surge above 3300p in 2018. Good dividends and specials in particular (the ordinary hasn't grown since 2018 or so). ROCE is strong and margins decent but have been weakening somewhat. I wonder whether we will see so many specials in future now buybacks are part of their framework? The key for me is they need to get growing - when will the mega programmes pay off?
Come on PK you cant leave it like that?
If you worked at victrex you may think differently.
This company is one of a the few worldwide leaders in their field. I’ve scoured the corporate site and see no factors holding Victrex back from heading towards it’s recent £25 area last year . Although I also no obvious cause for the fall from the £30 area either. Great well ran company with small dividend.

Hi All.
Its very quiet on here.
I noticed Victrex by chance really, I'm working in the chemicals industry so I am aware of the company and it popped up in my Divi feed. I hear rumblings of new capital investment and increased capacity at one of the plants so I am not afraid to chuck a few 000's in. Shares at historic lows, Pays a divi too.

Have you turned on the TV in the last 3 months? or 2 days? Ukraine v Russia matey boy...
Bought more at 2212 to average down from LTH @ 2300. Any reasons why it is falling with excellent results & 4% dividend on 27.1.22?

i bought in at around £19.38 a share so I'm currently up by about 20%. things on the up at the moment? While they pay a small dividend, will probably hold on for the time being. Good luck all

Will ask around - I live round the corner cheers
OWL - have you not heard the one about Apple coming to the UK and may be placing work with a certain company????
Maybe you are wrong. Look all the institutional funds that own the stock here is the list https://fintel.io/so/uk/vct
I understand your feelings, when person is scared he thinks with his emotions not with his head
Some you win, some you lose. I see that IC have now moved from sell to hold.
Time to cut my losses after a 31% loss. I invested 12 months ago based on positive momentum but that momentum has long since gone.
So Tim bags his golden watch next June.
What is more worrying is Jakob Sigurdsson hasn't looked at the news section of Victrex website. Everything is last years news. Vitrex can't keep living in the past.

Topped up another 100 myself I agree too company
You could be right however 2019 given Brexit and Auto sales declines is unlikely to be stellar.I have added 200 more this morning to collect the massive dividend and will hold at least for a while. This is a splendid company.
Reckon there will be a few buying in just for the special 82p divvy but reckon most will be topping up coz they can appreciate that £23 a Share is good value and will probably hold for a while to see where this can go to.
For VCT recovery or is it buying ahead of the special divi - any thoughts?

It’s a funny one that’s for sure. Have it on good authority from employees and management they can’t make the stuff fast enough yet such a massive drop. Recent improvement last few days but still well down. Should have sold at £34 but was greedy and all news was positive so left it. Fingers crossed for future
Good question. Stock very volatile for no obvious reason. I am adding on the dips and today am back in profit. What is going on I have NO idea but it seems undervalued. Prospect of Brexit maybe not helping?
Down £10 in 3 months. Order books filled for next 5 yrs (direct from company) No massive fluctuations against $ don’t get it top company

It seems today's 2018 preliminary results do not help either. -6% in a day.
Looks like profit taking and regression to a more realistic multiple.
I bought this share due to it's steady upward momentum. Any idea why it has fallen 26% in less than a month?
Wouldn't of thought this news would be known to many so can't see it being responsible form the dip. Thanks though for link wasn't aware myself. Next results should see that extra 8 - 10% return on profits factored in since that accounting change.
price seemed to move south just after this came out . really annoying as i got in for the divy just before this came out haha . If this is the reason surely nothing to worry about in the long run . https://uk.news.yahoo.com/carillion-audit-chair-under-pressure-183000411.html?.tsrc=rss

Could anyone clarify the Dividend total amount on ex-divi date please ?

On Friday, this stock when up with nearly 65 units but why is it falling down. The dividend day is just round the corner. So am expecting this to rise.

Bought in at £15.50, 3.5yrs ago and very happy so far-though hoping competition isn't going to hot up on the peek plastic anytime soon,as specialists it is the main reason for their success. If peek goes t**s up for any reason so does Victrex
Should be good!!!!
First-time poster, though I've been watching these boards and others for a while. Surprised by the lack of chat around VCT. I'm in a similar position to you. Bought in at 16. I've put some stop losses in at around 24, though might tighten them up. Assuming those haven't already been triggered by then, I'm holding fire till the results in December.
Looks like it's just me talking to myself Over £26 today. Bought in at £14 just over 18 months ago. Should I sell and take my profit or can this go even higher with the latest news regarding the tax benefits? Anyone out there care to comment?
We have lift off! Where can this share go now realistically. How much is left in the tank. Never been this high before!

I see the price of a Mars Bar is to rumoured to be priced 10p higher by year end. I can remember when I was 12 it was 20p and bigger than present...haha

from the Brexit mallarkey as most of its earnings are in Euros. Indeed it could be a hedge against a further dip in sterling and the UK economy.. Bounced back today after being marked down initially
