@alfista
Getting concerned about you. Has the sp screwed up your short position?
I know there's an energy crisis but I hope you haven't messed up your shorting game too.
@alfista
What is the sp saying now?
Word is Geoffrey has bought a lot of shares, so it's a good time to buy imho.
@blackboulder
Have you heard anything from your sources about significant volumes of shares being bought by Mr Wilding?
If he has, might be a good time to increase your minor holdings.
The sp is doing all the talking right now.
No need for me to add to what I already said.
@alfista
I'm really interested to know what your short position is? You must be getting worried.
@BlackBoulder
Totally agree about the EBITDA.
Like I said before, it's a shame you aren't the spokesperson for the company. You would do a better job than the people Mr Wildwolf has hired.
Good soundbytes are half the game, ask Tony Blair. He made a career out of it.
What price did you last buy the shares at? Has your loading up proved profitable?
Are you going to put your money where your mouth is and buy more shares?
I'm considering it, looking at the current results but I'm not fully convinced
Dear Hawkeye,
£100m of Ebitda is really a fantastic result given the economic situation this year, more than the pundits were expecting no doubt, I’m sure it’s given the shorters a fright.
I have loaded up over the years on Victoria stock and I am a firm believer that the current situation will reverse in due course, as it did last time the business was attacked by shorters.
As I’ve said Hawkeye, I don’t speak for the company and I write all my own posts from scratch. I have never cut and pasted anything onto this platform.
@Blackboulder
Imagine the effects on the share price if debt was significantly reduced. My (and your) pennies will be worth counting
What the company actually needs is either another good acquisition and flex its muscles or decide to use its money to pay the debt that is looking more and more like the giant beanstalk.
Someone should tell Mr Wildwolf that he needs to stop raving on his yacht and start paying off the debt
@BlackBoulder
Definitely some good news and the share price reflects it.
Have you found a way of increasing your shareholding instead of giving everyone on this, board another display of your cut n paste skills?
The company posted a trading update this morning that confirms a half year trading result of more than £700m of Revenue and more than £100m of Ebitda, in line with market expectations for 2023, a fantastic result considering the economic challenges this year. The business has clearly found ways of dealing with the increase in gas prices.
@alfista
Thanks for a thorough response. I'm on these boards just to see the outlook, as I'm invested.
What are the positives for this share?
@fredhunt
If you want to read doom and gloom, @alfista can provide you truckloads of it
It seems my links are removed automatically. I am sure you can find the Fitch report on VCP easily and the source I use is TradingEconomics for the Dutch TTF prices which currently are at €128 EUR/MWh, down from €340 at their peak in August.
For those predicting doom and gloom, Fitch ratings are expecting stability for VCP: https://www.fitchratings.com/research/corporate-finance/fitch-affirms-victoria-plc-at-bb-outlook-stable-13-10-2022”
Great to see that the main European gas price benchmark (Dutch TTF) has come down to less than half its peak of 8 weeks ago. This will no doubt help production costs and stabilise pricing. https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/eu-natural-gas
Think a few missed this updated Fitch rating, which is pretty positive all round bearing in mind the circumstances and shold put pay to quite a few of the negative rumours that have been circulating recently - worth a read!

I have heard that Geoff is selling his Yacht and investing all of his 65 million in to vcp!
Come on Geoff dig deep in to them pockets
They have talked about the headwinds in today's report, you must recognise that. As I understand it, the gas price shock, especially for Italian producers, represented a "force majeur", meaning that existing agreements were trashed. the whole industry has been warning its customers of emergency increases, and slowdown of production, all year long. Worst case will be, if the winter period is harsh, that major gas users get told to switch off. that's the level of potential risk, ignore it at your own risk.
You're a regular poster on here too. What is your thought track on this share? You have an interest, and you aren't invested, so you must be shorting. Otherwise, why waste your energy on this board?
Do you not think that a company the size of Victoria mitigates for energy
Volatility by hedging gas and electricity contracts the same way it will do for raw materials. Each of the business operates under their own management structures in most instances under the same md which set the company up hence they have the experience and ability to foresee bumps in the road.
No, I'm just a regular person, with some knowledge of industry and energy. If you genuinely want to learn about the thought track I'm on, search Youtube for the Richard Tice/Benny Peiser interview on GBNews. That's the world I occupy, and it's not a bunker, it's one where folks try to see thing ahead of the masses. Politicians have been taking Europe on a path to disaster for years, responding to dubiously funded activists. The outcome is energy at too high a price, with poor reliability, badly affecting commercia high energy users IMHO
Apologies, I'm not as experienced or pedantic as you.
Your text messages would suggest you are a shorter, with just negatives being typed, or you're in a bunker somewhere waiting for the world to end.
OOps, hear, not here.
typo
What "sound" is it that you here when you form an opinion?
Maybe you should get checked out, as far as I can see this is a text only platform.
If? Sounds very much like you do have a short position.
@alfista
Thanks for the positive take on this. I might use you as an advisor next time I invest.
