Outlook Despite the tough economic conditions the outlook for the Group is positive based on a very strong growth in the order book and growing revenue. The group philosophy continues to be based on the pursuit of low risk recurring revenues and continued development of environmentally friendly products. We maintain the view that the professional services sector offer opportunities for growth through selective acquisition. Our investment in new technology for all operating divisions has improved the group's competitive position and is expected to lead to a continued growth in sales. We will be releasing further news on product launches and developments in the Green Power division in the coming months.

Why not help UTN along by buying one of their electric bikes direct from the company. We bought the Puma for my wife last year - great little bike - she loves it and its excellent excercise for me trying to keep up round the country lanes and for trips to the shops. Get some interest going with friends and neighbours! http://www.powacycle.co.uk/ Save on petrol too - take it to work etc. The best publicity is the product on the streets. Likewise with the free solar for schools - encourage take up.
Market cap for Cognito software division by wet wet frog Fundamentals of Cognito legal software division:: 1. Filo range of softwares proving popular and making in road into bigger legal practices. 2. Increase budget spent to accelerate growth in 2011 3. Evaluating potential acqusition targets 4. Strong management/staff and excellent customer satisfaction feedback 5.. Division made £237,000 profit in 2009. Latest trading update said profit in 2010 was materially above market expectation. Lets assume Cognito made £300k in 2010 and will make £350k for 2011. For a PE of 15 (IMHO,reasonable for a profitable growing business),Cognito should be valued at £4.5m and £5.25m for 2010 and 2011 respectively. At interim (30 june 2010),the company had no debt and net asset of £2.7m, over £1m of which are value of land and cash. At 1.7pps, market cap for the whole company is £4.7m. How interesting!!! Investors actually put a negative valuation on the e-bikes and solar businesses. What's more interesting is the fact that the company is confident that ~£3m of e-bikes be sold in Benelux alone........:-) If you disagree with my assumption and calculation, why not DYOR and play with the numbers , see for yourself and come to your own conclusion.
Ultima profits to trump forecasts By Benjamin Chiou Date: Monday 21 Mar 2011 LONDON (ShareCast) - Ultima Networks jumped by a fifth after the IT and green technology company revealed that 2010 profits will be “materially” ahead of market expectations, while turnover will be broadly in line. The IT services division, Cognito Software, continued to grow through increased sales of its range of software products and services, particularly its new legal software suite, ‘FiLos’. As a result of the increased level of interest in FiLos, the group has increased its sales, support and marketing budget for the division in 2011. As previously announced, Ultima’s green technology products division had a slow start to the year, though trading picked up in the second half. The level of major new orders for its mainland European version of the Infineum electric bicycle beat management expectations. Ultima remains confident that volumes for the 2011 calendar year will reach the division’s target of 2,500 units.
Excellent post from iii by Wet Wet Frog I am sure more new comers will come and visit this site to gain a better understanding of UTN, for their benefit, I have updated and post my research note once again..........LOL!!! Ultima networks (UTN) - a research note by WET WET FROG (Maysun) - last updated on 10th January 2011 The Aim listed company has 3 business divisions: 1. Cognito Software : http://www.cognitosoftware.co.uk/ 2. Electric bikes (two brands):http: http://www.powacycle.co.uk/ and http://www.infineumbike.co.uk/ 3. Solar power generation: http://www.ultima-networks.com/ Let take a closer look at each business division one at a time. 1.Cognito - A good product, great customer support , satisfaction, and recurring revenue. Quote from latest result statement:"Despite consolidation within the legal marketplace, the IT services division has continued to grow through increased sales of its range of software products and services. The Board expects that the launch of the all new legal software suite "FiLos" will further improve competitiveness and attract interest from larger legal practices. The division is benefiting from a strong management team and is looking to continue to grow organically and through carefully targeted acquisitions. Page 11 and 12 of the Law Society software guide :http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/documents/downloads/softwaresolutionsguide2009.pdf gives a good account of Cognito's business. Soon after product launch, the company successfully sold its Filos software to major firms with 20,000+ stall and £2bn turnover. Operation profit ( my estimation) for 2010/2011 = £500k, assuming a forward PE of 10, then mkt cap = £5m. This can go higher with the right acquisitions. 2. e-bike. UK operation: profitable, dealer network (almost 100) established and growing. European operation - Distribution centre set up in Germany, benelux hit the ground and running - infineum continental bikes already a success ( euro 500k for 2010) and 2500 units or Euro 3m for 2011 - this equates to less than 2% of the ebike market in Holland (140k bikes sold per annum). More Infineum models expected to be launched and this represents a staggering revenue opportunity in Benelux alone. I am sure the company will sign up a German distributor next and more to follow. Why infineum e-bike? Infineum is the brand name for the high-end range of electric bicycles continuously evolving in order to bring the latest bike technology to the market. The design of the Infineum Continental is ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS . IMHO, it's in same class as the iphone, a pity they don't call it the "ibike".( I stands for infineum) THE REVENUE OPPORTUNITY HERE IS -SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUSLY STAGGERING!!!!! (If the company really want to do some clever sales and marketing, they can negotiate with car maker /dealers to do some joint promotion: BUY A CAR and get an infineum ebike FREE - this will be very int

Power bikes bid to cut down carbon footprint by ROB SMYTH COUNCIL wardens are getting on their bikes to improve efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint created by work vehicles. Community warden Cheryl MaximEast Staffordshire Borough Council is adopting power assisted cycling to enable wardens to travel economically through the borough. Supplied by Lichfield-based electric bike specialist PowaStation, the electric bike enables staff to cover far greater distances than using a traditional cycle. Tackling steep hills with a twist of a throttle, the Infineum Extreme LPX also ensures wardens do not exhaust themselves simply travelling around and has a much lower carbon footprint and cost than a car or van. East Staffordshire Borough Council’s climate change and adaptation officer Peter Robinson said: “We’re committed to protecting the environment and promoting sustainability, but we need to find reliable and sustainable ways to save carbon, congestion and cost while making it easier for staff to carry out their work effectively and efficiently. “By using an electric bike rather than a van to travel from site to site, our community wardens are more accessible and visible to the public. “It’s also fun to ride as well as being kinder to the rural environments that we are trying to enhance.” PowaStation director Graham Green added: “The Infineum Extreme LPX is a reliable, powerful bike that will serve this energetic team well. “Local authorities have many challenges in this age of austerity, but small changes like this can help save costs as well as helping them meet environmental targets. “PowaStation can offer valuable travel planning consultancy and free trials to any local authority looking to build the business case for switching from their expensive road fleet to the more sustainable electric bike pools.” --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
