First thing to do is a quick screen-grab - The ramp crew have control of the mods so they will try to get this taken down. Of course I may be slightly paranoid, but my last post that insulted the ramp crew by calling them bullies, was taken down.
Some of you may be aware that I posted a while back about my contact with the EA. My posts were mainly met with replies such as "liar", "rubbish", "I would suggest you don't post any other information you may have" and "I don't believe a word Gonzalez says" etc.
Anyway I couldn't give a flyin **** about you bully boys and I'll post if I want to. If you don't believe my posts then I'm not interested in your reply. Grow up, it's worse than a school playground on here.
"On Feb 4th I asked the EA if there was any reason given from them why Rathlin had paused their EWT in August. They agreed to freedom of information and said they would get back to me within 20 days. I kept pushing for an answer, and then on Thursday, after the RNS they replied. Now you can read into that what you wish, but hopefully we can have intelligent discussion without abuse.
"Rathlin Energy (UK) Limited hold an environmental permit that authorises extended well testing at the West Newton ‘A’ well site. In August 2019 the company took the decision to suspend testing of their West Newton A-2 well. The company has notified the Environment Agency that they wish to make some changes to the operating techniques authorised by the environmental permit. These changes include the use of mechanical lifting (beam pump or pump jack) to remove fluid from the well, use of a smaller capacity waste gas combustion unit, plus some other minor technical changes.
We have advised Rathlin Energy that they will need to submit a permit variation application for these changes."
I then asked more questions regarding timescales etc. They replied:
"6th February 2020 Rathlin requested EA written agreement to a change in operating techniques.
14th February 2020 EA notified Rathlin that we would not give written agreement to the requested changes, and that the company would have to submit a permit variation application.
18th February 2020 Rathlin submitted a permit variation application to the Environment Agency for a change to operating techniques.
The permit variation application submission has been received by the EA but has not been checked or accepted as complete. The target determination time for permit variation applications is 3 months. Determinations may take more or less time than this depending on the complexity of the changes applied for, the quality of the application, and the EA permitting work load."
Discuss - calmly please.
No they must not of (sic). Any searching queries?
I'm afraid that I don't understand either of the previous two posts. If you would care to re-phrase?
Thanks to Gonzalez for sharing his interesting and useful piece of research. Very interesting, unfortunately it seems we may be waiting until mid May for the EA. Also thanks to royoboy for his Friday evening game of rearrange these words into a grammatical sentence.
Thank you, Gonzales.
For a LTH this is reassuring. This delay seems entirely down to jobsworths at the EA; and not a more worrying problem of lack of finance (RBD RNS states Rathlin fully funded - my main concern previously ala Tullow, in Guyana). In other words, although snail's pace, all is in order and progressing as well as can be expected given UK authorities scrupulous diligence - not a bad thing really.
Thank you for your efforts in prizing out this information.
Happy Sparrow. I appreciate your thanks.
However, I would disagree with your comments respectfully. If you read my post, the EA only received the revised application on the 18th February 2020 from Rathlin. They are entitled to take some time to process it.
Well if the info is correct I would like to know how the hell Rathlin have taken so ling. It's also a travesty that the BoD's of UJO & RBD haven't informed us.
Understood, G.
Could be 'more, or less, time' (of 3 months). Happy with that - I guess that's what makes me a LTH.
Slime Zac Phillips describes it more here:

But I note he first attempts to talk about WNB, stutters badly throughout EWT delays, and goes back to script on Wressle - so, from this, I guess immediate EA approval is not a given. But, long term, they cannot ignore this find for its benefit to UK plc - so approval will be given imo - but it might take time.
Uggy, I guess someone (Rathlin, Humber?) has been getting quietly funded during the delay.
There’s been lots of gift horses all the way down from 0.3 On saying that looking back at posting history many of the most persistent rampers were topping up all the way down from 0.3 to where we are today and recommending others to do likewise, cant have done their averages much good unless they were lying to entice others in...I wont be topping up unless it drops around or below my average, sincerely hope we have found the bottom.
Apologies, Straighttalker, the epithet was unnecessary and ill-informed. It comes from my tendency to regard all promoters generically as 'slime' and so it was more a comment about job title eg Slime, Chief slime, junior slime, etc.
Thank you for putting me right on this - by being more informed.
No need for a screen grab as everyone entitled to their opinion right or wrong. I would just say that what you are told could just be a "stock answer" to many such enquires as thinking about it I think Raithlin are more likely to know what is going on re-timescale, up tp a point-than Joe public. As a perhaps non specific example I asked one of my pension providers where my requested draw down was and when I could expect it and was told that due to a mistimed requeston my part there was a delay and when processed would take 5 working days by BACS to reach my account-it arrived that afternoon by CHAPS-just saying.
Ponkey - the EA are not known for producing answers ahead of the absolute last possible date
They have a lot on right now and I'm sure that, resources wise, many spare time is spent on floods not an O&J application that not one of the public or politicians care about
Gonzalez - the issue with contacting the EA is that they will always provide there stock SLA time, government departments always do....DB would not have been able to include a timescale of 4-6wks in the RNS without it being vetted by the NOMAD and presumably this the actual lead time given to them on there specific permit variation.
