I'd be surprised if it didn't happen in July.
ashbarret: the Times reported that the IPO is scheduled for July (unless, it's since been postponed or misreported (the latter more likely, of course).
I must say, I'm hoping for one of 3 things:
1. The threat of Micro taking potentially taking over Trak spurs a decent cash offer from someone else.
2. Micro buy Trak with cash (personally, I don't want shares - well, not at least until any dust has settled after the IPO)
3. Trak gets its act together and the SP works its magic to a point when I can simply sell ..slowly, so as not to crash the price, of course!
I'll stick to my bet that one of these things (or something like it) happens during the course of the next year. Pretty sure, JFW and the Cowley's must want out by now ...they must be more exhausted than we are...
Presumably the main options off the top of my head would be:
1. Microlise does its IPO, then takes over Trak for cash, or shares in Microlise, or a mix of cash and shares.
2. Microlise takes over Trak for cash (there won't be any tradeable Microlise shares to offer at that point), then does its IPO.
Of course, if Trak come out with a scintillating update next week, they'd be able to drive a hard bargain - perhaps too hard for Microlise.
thanks, I am hoping Trakm8 can stand on their own two feet by then and may be out of reach for a buy out.
I would imagine any offer to come as a mixture of cash and shares, once Microlise has listed. I'm thinking this wont be until next year as they have extended accounting date's to 29th December.
Does anyone fancy walking me through the scenarios for Microlise buying Trakm8 in the near future? Would it be pre-IPO, part of the IPO or at some later date. I'm interested in the mechanics of how this would be achieved. e.g. if it was part of the IPO could it be that we would be asked to swap our shares, what scenario would be more likely.
Ok, dreaming here - but nothing else to do - at least our next update is soon. I still believe there is not enough market noise to make me feel that Microlise will take Trakm8 soon. I would have thought this would have been discussed with the broker (and they will leak something over a pint with their mates).
Microlise have just extended the current accounting period for two of their group companies till the end of calendar year 2021.
In preparation for the IPO, no doubt.
I don't think there's anything to worry about.
Just perfunctory notification.
If we don't get a bullish report and no news of an offer, a solid consolation prize would be some director buys.
KBYK - oh, dear!
Yep, sorry was 2019

The Group expects to announce its final results for the year ended 31 March 2019 on Monday, 8th July 2019.
I can confirm it wasn't a director...
The last time they gave us notice of the results, was before the Nov. 2016 bombshell.
Big Bed & ISA though. Maybe a director (I think it's allowed in a close period).
dc2 - can't see anything in the April 20 update.
They did give us an anticipated release date in the previous year's April update - just not this one. So it may be something they had to do.
Looks like a bed & ISA has just happened.
I wonder why they gave us 7 days notice of the results? They’ve never done this before. Is it because this time the results - and the update, which was not mentioned - have a special significance? Hmmm…
and not me - I have waited too long ...
Seems some sellers (not me) are also taking advantage of the churn.
Ticking up nicely
ok, 6.1% up on the day is pretty good
fingers crossed that this is the turning point. Still find it hard to believe there will be an offer - I think the market is not reacting like there will be (they usually have better insider insight).
Can't see it dropping back in the run up to the update. That's why I've just picked up another 25k at 17.8p.
I know. I'm trying not to read everything as a sign, but it's hard not to. When you've got the feeling, you've got the feeling, as they say. Still, as you rightly pointed out yesterday, nothing is certain in this game. Wouldn't be suprised if there's a tick upwards in the SP this week, though.
"Hoping for a bullish forward looking statement ...and/or that they've had a cash offer for the company ;P"
Me too. Interesting timing, 29/6. Is it just a coincidence that Microlise are likely to file their accounts on that date (they have until 30/6, but It would be surprising if they left it till the very last day)?
Will that be the moment they also announce their IPO?
And, if a tie-up with Trak is happening, that as well?
I think there's an attrition rate, but I would hope that they have improved the number for the reasons you suggest.
Hoping for a bullish forward looking statement ...and/or that they've had a cash offer for the company ;P
254k was the end of April update vs py of 245k
over confirms it is greater than
they have previously cv19 cost them estimated 30k connections
not sure if we will get the connections in this update but they could easily be above 275k now
with an opportunity with a very good run to exit the year between 350 to 400k based on previous info and insurance demand
