Well said scotman.
For some reason ,?certain folk dont like the idea of government help,,even if us tax payers still get our money back, with interest,
But i have raised this in the past, even put links to certain gove offices, but have been shot down in flames, just for the mere thought of it,any true share holder in sxx would welcome a little bit of a hand up from the government, after all its our money as tax payers, and for gods sake the north could do with a little slice of the cake.just my opinion.
Compare a measly £500m to invest in SM , which they’ll get back .. compared with at least £500bn to bail out the banks .. can’t seem to see where I got any of that back when I keep checking my wage slips.
As they say , even Dick Turpin had the decency to wear a mask !
I would say in order to secure jobs for the local community. The government won’t stump up 500 million, but will act as guarantor should things go wrong. Why should I as a tax payer, bail out RBS and Lloyd’s during the credit crunch.
Hi Laallee - nice to see you on here and hope all's well with you and yours.
Was just looking in to see how things were going with this and saw your post; my prime interest these days is Serica (SQZ) so that's where you'll generally find me, if you want to say 'hello' - sasa.
Scotman, maybe the govt Rangerover and Jag fleet need replacing but they don’t need fertiliser. Got enough of their own.;-)
Well hello Scotman my old friend, I haven't really been gone just popping in and out without saying much, just got a little bit peed off that the tax payer should help to bail out Sirius when it should be flying on its own by now.
Bouncer at ICL???
Hi Laalee,
Thats a different ballgame. Electric cars & the associated technologies are very firmly part of the govs infrastructure criteria.
It does however beggar belief that Tata couldn't raise 500 million from other means though!
Ah rangeresraver, you've been gone a while! Where have you been?
Yip, why should this company be bailed out with tax payers money? I tend to wonder why all the sudden talk of MP's chatting with the treasury etc is all about. Plan B, option 6 is still on the cards is it not? or is it now plan C?
Are you still mates with the bouncer at ICL?
Pray tell....
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/jul/15/jaguar-land-rover-offered-500m-loan-to-develop-electric-cars
Pray tell what you don’t understand .. it’s not being bailed out it’s an opportunity for the gov to invest and get capital + interest back , this will help the UK treasury and may even produce for 100 years to add to pension funds etc as well as massive tax benefits
But let’s not get into the private banks getting bailed out in the past without as much as a ripple of protest been made . .
Pray tell why should the tax payer bail out this private company
