Still nothing from the company.
Possible explanations:
1) They don't consider what's happening as being of any significance to the company and it remains entirely unaffected. (seems unlikely to me)
2) They are on the verge of announcing something and don't want to mislead shareholders.
3) They are trying to work out what to say in a way that won't spook the market. ( Again, this seems unlikely as they've had plenty of time to draft something suitable)
4) They've completely downed tools and don't want to admit it.
Any others?
Given they've previously issued announcements relating to the political situation, I find it pretty odd that they've chosen not to do so now. The board committed to greater shareholder engagement and surely this is one of those occasions when they should demonstrate that they meant it.
Number 4 is not wildly out of the question…. The endless strategic review is a great ‘confidentiality’ mechanism to hide behind if your attempts to monetise haven’t achieved what was hoped for, are now mothballed and floundering..
Add, not surprising when one review the performance of Scott The Rocks Caldwell since he became our ceo. This is him being true to form. I don't understand why you would now expect him to be any different from norm when the cry here has always been better comms. Hence, 5)Scott The Rocks Caldwell hightailed it back to Canada and is safely back in Toronto chatting with friends at his local Tim Horton 😀
Orthern, I was specifically referring to the current violence, but I take your point, although it seems unlikely they've come up with nothing, particularly having seen the tweet from Hubris.
Ortherncopper, you are writing absolute rubbish as usual.
A strategic review allows the Solgold business to dictate how and when they will execute the next stage of Solgolds journey.
Why bring forward a cash raise through unnecessary exploration spending?? We are on the cusp of a major corporate event and a cash raise at todays SP makes no sense.
I am going to assume the latest updated PFS version is very much in its final form, and they are currently sharing with all interested parties to determine what options are available to the business. This process is called a strategic review.
As Scott has stated, Solgold has never been in such a strong position and what is happening in the cities of Ecuador today has no bearing on a mining project located in the bush which has the support of the local community and local / state government.

Yes there is one other adikt.
nothings changed with solg management, still bloody clueless.
Add, the Ecuador government has issued a release stating all mining, electricity and water industries continue unaffected. Maybe Solg are happy enough with that?
I’m the last to defend our communications, but I’m not sure the sudden increase in criminality warrants an RNS… unless of course it snowballs further out of control.
Gangland issues are long term... but they tend to be resolved amongst themselves. Something different happened this time around...Fito escaped. That's the catalyst. Someone somewhere... made it possible for him to get out of maximum jail. So that's why a posited the Correa angle.
The shooting of a leading politician was far more shocking than the TV studio break in. But again... this was a departure from the norm. So issues with the gang world have clearly been brewing since July last year or earlier. It might be due to the increased crack down on crime due to the POLLS and I can assure you... heading into next Feb's elections will require both candidates to prove or put forward significant plans to tackle crime and clean ecuador up as that's high on the list of people when voting.
So looks to me like the crime world is taking a little squeeze and perhaps it's the colombians that don't like what's going on as they bare seasonal cartel players and know the robes better then Ecuador's posse's.
All in all, it goes without saying that SOLG's staff will be told to stay safe but as we know, there is sweet FA going on ops wise so nothing is going to effect SOLG right now. There are no drills going on. Nothing. It's all data room crushing stuff and that's likely done in Canada or Oz lol!
Great picture of the chinese discussing mining face to face... I really do hope they get Alpala and make billions out if it. That will teach BHP et al a lesson. And if the Saudi's step into mineralmining through investments and M&A... heaven help BHP and co... they'll be toast. Happens all the time to the big guys when they get a bit lazy and sloppy.
Certainly no need for an RNS at all on current ecuador in country affairs
Orthern, thanks, I hadn't seen that from the government and you may be right.
As far as the broader picture is concerned, I do wonder how much is hyperbole, particularly where the BBC is concerned - they love over-dramatising news items. There is a very good article in the Spectator which doesn't downplay the situation, but does put it into context. Having said that, there's no question that this is having an impact on the country, hence my belief the company should, as far as is possible, clarify the position as it relates to us.
Or then. not all mines are operating normally.
A spokesperson for Toronto-based Adventus Mining said there is no additional security at its site and workers at the Curipamba project have been sent home for now.
most other mines that are working are being protected with a ring of steel, by the army and security forces.
for anyone to think all walks of life including mining, are not being affected, has to be a solg poster,
We have nothing to protect…. We don’t have a mine… just hills…. with old holes in them.. we are not actively doing anything there… it’s just hills..
Adikt. If you dispense from your little England outlook. You will see it's not just the bbc reporting the turmoil.
Hyperbole.
Only on this board, and particularly from you, would you read this sort of dismissal of anything factual
Golden opportunityToday , Solgold should build a major stake in HZM, and change its business model and become an investment vehicle.
Project is already at final stages, this is a golden opportunity for any new major investor to outcast La Mancha and Glencore. Currently SP is below penny contrary to the price they (Mancha and Glen) are invested at.
Nal, why don't you read my posts properly for a change? What does the last sentence say?
Add,
That would take cognitive function
Right I’m off out
KRSS filtered...
Add needy is an lse boiler crew member paid to generate posts which in turn increases their advertising revenue !!! not sure why so many of you can’t see that ? You’re all acting like a load of elected conservative politicians atm so behave yourselves
ONWARDS AND DOWNWARDS 😥
Adikt. Never mind your last sentence. That's just your usual patronising.
I concentrate on your first sentence.
"As far as the broader picture is concerned, I do wonder how much is hyperbole, particularly where the BBC is concerned - they love over-dramatising news items."
Tell you what, why don't you try reading things in their entirety and putting them in context. Or are you incapable of doing so? That's a rhetorical question, btw. And how exactly, is the last sentence patronising?
Everyone has different valuation techniques and preference but for me personally this is worth starting to buy these again at 7.5.
My rational;
-return to 10p which I believe will happen 33%
-current McAp values Solg assets at less than the cash raised and spent developing assets
-assets must be of importance due to the calibre/size of partners with skin in game
-happy to add equal chunks on any further 1p declines
-sentiment is awful. Ecuador can’t get much worse that national stage of emergency which is well known and “in the price” imo
Good luck all, impossible to call bottoms but 220 mcap attractive as starting point to me
we’ve been here before
snap elections, indigenous uprisings ….. always a pain in the **** and the geopolitical risk ever present….. always goes away in the end. do we really believe a few gunslinging drug dealers will put an end to the future of mining in ecuador?
in the meantime some things just carry on as normal
“bactech environmental receives final permit from the ministry of environment for the tenguel project in ecuador”
Just couldn't resist another tranche for just above 7.50p.....
I have now well above my limit on 1 stock however I am sure it will not be for long before I can balance the book to the level I will be more comfortable 😉 with.....
ATB fellow SOLGers.
Chinese not deterred
“Solaris Resources has lined up a 130 million Canadian dollar ($97.1 million) investment from China's Zijin Mining that will help fund development of the Canadian exploration company's flagship Warintza project in southeastern Ecuador.
Solaris said Thursday the gold-focused mining giant will invest through an affiliate by way of a private placement of shares. Solaris plans to issue almost 28.5 million shares at C$4.55 each, a premium of 14% to the previous day's closing price”
Shame SOLG hadn't secured $5m-$10m from Zijin Mining or similar to progress drilling at Helipuerto (Tinkimints).
Right next door to Warintza.
Flagged as a priority years ago. But little progress.
