I'm sorry Q but your memory has let you down here, he confirmed that CAs/NDAs had been signed. It was black and white.
Good afternoon SharketMare.
You may be right.
But as I remember he was not at liberty to say if any had been signed,
So like many points, we were left hanging.
If your right. Witch is debatable, my second point was, what are they seeing they don't like.
How long do you think is a reasonable time to wait for any movement from the data room suitors, before we take my view. The problem could be if you repeat the data room access will lead us to the promised land to many times (as you are) you could end up sounding like dbw.
But all that said, I sincerely hope your right, I really do. Even dbw will be right one day. I have heard a.rumour he may get a mention in the kings honours lisst. Fo the most incorrect posts in. Living memory
No Q, he confirmed that SOLG has signed several NDAs/CAs but couldn't name any of the companies to have done so. The way he answered the question on Jiangxi's involvement to me at least implied that they had signed one.
Good afternoon Addicknt.
If I remember correctly he wouldn't comment either way if any NDA's or CA's had been signed.
Nal, no company signs an nda to access company information if it doesn't intend to make use of the access. So, unless you think Caldwell is lying, we can safely assume people are indeed looking at the info. In fact, if you think he is lying I suggest you email him and tell him so. Please let us know his response.
And to reverse your logic, there is no evidence to suggest people are not interested. These things take a very long time.
Addict. You are once again basing every thing on the assumption people are actually accessing the data room. I believe Caldwell ( not scotty or scott as some on here like tocall him) stated suitors had access to the data room, that's not to say they are taking him up on his offer. If indeed he's not actually telling a solg porky, and if so many suitors are actually accessing it, what are they seeing they don't like, because no ones breaking a leg after looking in. To date I have not seen one scrap of evidence to support any claims on here that anybody at this moment is showing any interest in buying solg.

With respect, you've been wrong a few years on the bounce. So if it is clear to you that we are in the final talks of a deal, those hoping for a deal should not be too optimistic! Why were you wrong the other times but correct this time? Was the evidence for your previous confident statements inaccurate, or did you misinterpret it?
Add, I am just pointing out that there is no evidence of a TO any time soon. I have said as recently as an hour ago that I don't think anyone needs to move yet, so won't. I stand by what I've said before, that there will be a bid eventually. But we don't currently have a buyer, so it won't be any time soon.
Sadly, I don't think the company is going to get much more saleable, you're right about that.
Add ….. it’s clear to me that all avoidable spending has been halted whilst a deal is thrashed out the only questions that remain ( in my personal opinion)
Sell Cascabel or sell the lot?
How long will it take ?
How much will they sell for?
As someone recently told me “one day a press release will drop that leaves no further room for speculation “
Why would we even consider a JV when it would decimate any potential takeover premium.

Question for anyone with an answer.
I know that as you move through the various licences in oil and gas, that when we get to the exploitation license, then the finance is in place.
Does anyone know if this is the same for Solgold.
Some references to links would be most helpful.
If I were to summarise your position, is it fair to say you don't think anyone is interested in buying Cascabel? How do you square this with your oft stated comment that it will be sold, but just not this year?
Given the company is in a state of suspended animation, what's going to happen next year that would make the company more saleable?
I accept that the parties that have availed themselves of the data room are, by definition, 'interested'. But you're not making the leap that they are interested in a TO. Your second point about our advisors going out to sell: I agree they will have tried IF that's the direction of travel SC is pursuing (an assumption). Doesn't mean that people are in the data room as a result of these approaches though. That would also be an assumption, but not one you're making.
It is not an assumption to say multiple parties are using the data room; nor that our advisors will have approached the most likely candidates. SC confirmed the first point and the second point is simply a statement of how these things are conducted.
That's a lot of assumptions as none of this has been confirmed publicly. My suspicion is that SC, Maxit et al have been approaching lots of potential buyers, but there is no interest in being to first mover and therefore no rush. Small amount of DD to decide if they'd counter were a bid to come in, but nothing more at this stage. Must be frustrating, particularly for Bob, but perhaps he should have considered a bit longer why we hadn't had a bid previously. Turns out it wasn't because we had plans to mine Cascabel.
I can see no reason why he needs 'to tell the world'. Our advisors will have spoken to the most likely candidates and they will be the ones using the data room. Bear in mind, they will be constrained by an NDA.
However, my bet is that within the industry everyone knows what the situation is and SC has absolutely no need to broadcast it.
Interesting. I think I see the obvious barriers to SC telling the world he's trying to sell (hence he hasn't), but do you think he'd announce that solg is for sale before falling back on a JV pathway?
The biggest problem with the T/O scenario is that at the moment we don't have a catylist to start the ball rolling, SOLG are burning money albeit slowly because the company is just about dormant, the potential suitors that we know of have other streams of income, the asset isn't going anywhere and the longer it goes on, the weaker SOLG will become.
Nobody wants to be the one to throw their hat in the ring first because if they have the first bid chances are they will have to bid more than they want to if and when the counter bid has to be beaten.
Everybody wants to be the second bidder so we have a huge reluctance to bid first.
Consequently we have stalemate until something happens to force their hands.
and that's out of the control of the company IMHO
We have sufficient cash for the next 12 months and therefore I can see no reason why we'd jump into a jv until all avenues are exhausted - unless it was absolutely compelling.
We know there are multiple parties making use of the data room, but we also know there's nothing yet on the table. I make no predictions about timelines and never have, but I'm completely convinced Caldwell is flat out trying to sell Cascabel.
Add do you think a TO bid is likely to come before we are forced to do something like a JV? In which case, do you have a timeframe in mind? Fast and smart has obviously passed now: do you see a bid before Christmas?
You can ask certainly.
Would it be asking too much to politely request that you two stfu?
Shhh, Sean. Adults are talking.
Adults aren't talking at all - you saw Quady in a conversation with someone and you decided to come in and back him up as part of the Four Stooges routine. You are so used to doing it to me you going to do it to addcknt as well now? We know what al four of you think, three of you should be off resting at any given time. Beside when we have the organ grinder in full flow we don't need his monkeys.
Shhhh, sean- adults are talking now.
