No, other than being signs of expected results and divid announcements.
I did see it too and also bought a holding today just under 70.46, which shows as a sell on the trade list)
managed to top up while it's still down today, anyone know why it's dropped today? close to a 9% yield at the moment!
Managed to accumulate a few high divi players over the past week.
More Smif coming when some other divis pay out. October should be the higher divi payout from past history.
correction - at 72.5p
some more at 73.5p
at 75.8p
Y the NAV has done better than the SP not just this (miserable) year but last 3 yrs. It does look like a cheap way to get big income. I just worry that when big inflation numbers print this winter it'll get cheaper.
Got a first holding here last few days, 6% of my ISA, attracted by the dip in price 78p and the regular dividends to DRIP.
A worry was this :
For the period from 01.10.21 to 31.03.22
Total (loss)/income (5,809,925)
However :
Balance at 31 March 2022 192,109,623
Significantly higher than today's MC.
Market Cap : £168m
SP has gone down over 10% since 1st May, a month before that announcement, 87 to 78. Down from 85p, 31st May.
Sinking lower ?
Going to add more at these prices.
You do realise they do this every month?

Very similar position, started buying in and holding some cash on the side for if/when this drops to load up more. I think there is a great opportunity for a capital gain (long term) and re-investing the dividends or paying in a monthly direct debit is a solid investment over time. GLA
Still purchasing small amounts monthly and re investing the divi.
Next rate rise may bring this sp down a bit more.
Long term holder down on capital outlay, however, looking 10 years ahead, I’m hoping this period of high inflation will pass hence viewed as an opportunity.
Looking at adding more to Hdiv, plus a large number of bond/mixed asset funds on the same basis. :-))
for first time today at 77. 475p
7%+ yield, monthly income. Re-invest dividends and repeat. Compound interest is magical you'll double your money in less than 10 years. But not very glamourous for some...
It's an income focused bond fund. You don't expect much from the sp performance. Not one for me though.
Dismal SP performance though !
Opportunity to gain a 7% plus monthly Divi. Thanks. I Just keep buying these to top up my pension income.
They announced webinar for today but only for "professional investors" so not me then. But here are the slides that went along with it.

Happy to have bought a few more yestrday @ 91.98p
Nope. It's a "regular" thing. As the share trades at a premium to the NAV and they are offering to purchase at a discount to the NAV I never really understand why private incvestors would take up the offer.
Am I the only one to receive this? Surely not!

"almost monthly"?
Bought a few yesterday. Steady dividend paid almost monthly. Boring but thats what Im looking for.
Agreed Wilks.
I took the opportunity to average down will SP was low and this is now paying me a div of nearly 6.5%
And I love the monthly div payments.
The final distribution pay out looks rather juicy. Have held these for a couple of years and find SMIF's monthly dividend policy very attractive. A Portfolio cornerstone for me, although each to their own. Luck to all.
