I think you're logic is correct and its a good in price. Pity I'm red here, but for reasons you describe I'm prepared to wait.
I like this share
Hope to see a steady slow rise today!
Hi ic152
I have no opinion on the company being bought. I do have full confidence in the management though.
Nice to hear you like the book. I loved the read.
Best
The microchip shortage has impacted car sales which in turn has impacted demand for the metals mined by SLP. We've hit peak microchip shortage so the situation resolves, metals demand will rise again, the share price will follow suit accordingly. I bought into today, after waiting months for the right time to buy in.
Thank you for you reply … I would not like to have a entry point above 90p … but I still think this could have some big spikes and some dips … at least it has some action unlike some other shares
I guess it depends upon the price of PGM metals.
Guvi calculated a fair value to 115p and sold his holdings. He then bought back in again below 90p.
PGM prices have dropped since then, so who knows? The market currently thinks that 100p is too much.
What do you all think is fair value sp here ?
Already seeing green here, And looks to be climbing well :)
Current cash on the balance sheet is worth approx 28p per share. In round figures the market is currently valuing SLP's operations at £160m.
Rhodium was last at these levels 12 months ago when SLP traded around 60-70p a share. At that point cash on the balance sheet was worth less than 8p per share.
Sentiment is more difficult to quantify and so I wouldn't be placing bets on a upswing, not until prices stabilise. At this point Rhodium looks set on retreating below $10,000/oz.

Impatientinvesto - absolutely I would be, if I didn't take my full and final large quota (holding) at 6.4p yes.
So Stoodio you’ll be topping up at these prices then?
Elpro
This however looks very handsome especially ir and ru compare todays price with last years 1st quarter price ad you'll see the basket price is actually higher;
Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Iridium, Ruthenium
Daily prices between 14 Sep 2021 and 15 Sep 2021
Platinum average: $954.00, Palladium average: $2,026.00, Rhodium average: $12,550.00, Iridium
average: $5,000.00, Ruthenium average: $685.00
Platinum, Palladium, Rhodium, Iridium, Ruthenium
Monthly Average prices between 01 Jul 2020 and 30 Sep 2020
Platinum average: $912.75, Palladium average: $2,191.99, Rhodium average: $11,118.97, Iridium
average: $1,645.00, Ruthenium average: $270.00
Yes I looked at the Rhodium price chart, but there will always be a demand for these type of metals, maybe more so in the new greener future… who knows, still see a target sp price of over a 100p here so it looks a good buy to me
Maybe they are and the rhodium price is being supported by that activity?
you would think any car company with a brain would start stockpiling at these levels ?
Average basket price 1st Quarter 30/9/19 $1654 =net profit $12.5m
1st Quarter 30/9/20 $2834 = net profit $21m
1st Quarter 30/9/21 $2978 =net profit $18.5m inc Lesedi shutdown
Todays basket estimate (PL $954 PD 2026 RH `$12500 ir $5000 RU $685) = $2311 so current profit $14m a quarter including Lesedi shutdown - due to reopen October.
And on the buys :)
Keep your eyes on the prize boys :)
Bagmeakipper,
Look at the Rhodium price chart - not pretty.
Best wishes,
Prof
Hang on until the 1st quarter figures as even at todays PGM values they are well in profit imho
I've mentioned a few times that I think it could be the victim of a leveraged buy out. The debt, taken on to buy the company, could be cleared very quickly and then the buyers could extract serious cash from the business.
Rio Tinto and BHP are diversifying into other metals, so there is always the possibility they might snap it up.
Got some today at 85.85p to me this looks like a good entry point, is there any reason for the drop over the last month or so, or just profit taking?
LunaNera, do you think there is a chance the company will be bought?
Thanks for the tip on Bull! Great book, half way through and fascinating.
