Knew SMR wouldn’t be happening in the UK.
https://www.energylivenews.com/2024/04/29/rolls-royce-pulls-plug-on-uk-nuclear-factory-plans/
You are so off the mark it hurts NuckyT.
... if it helps:
1) RR will now use Sheffield Forgemasters (as a third party supplier) in the interim.
2) RR is still proceeding with the second factory to actually produce the SMRs
As long as RR get the decent order book, they will no doubt continue their original plan of building the heavy pressure vessel factory in the near future.
Or, you could just post a negative headline with your negative tagline.
Do some research.
Hey nettles, glad to see you back 👍
I totally agree NTC 👍
Only fecking idiots don't bother to do any meaningfull research on an Investment . I won't even think about selling any of my rather large holding in RR until we see £10+ and we certainly will see that happen in the not too distant future 😉 The MM's are gathering in for orders placed before the results IMHO , I have just bought some more this morning again and will continue to do so all the way up , as RR has by far the best prospects on the FTSE 100 at this moment in time 👍
So off the mark it hurts, maybe some catamine will help? I may have been so off the mark in your opinion but jeez you were quick off the mark to reply ?
....yeah, apologies.... I've got Cat flu. Worse than man flu.
Sorry NuckyT. 🐈⬛
Seeing it’s you apology accepted
Not been on for a while but isn't it just a part of the SMR that RR has dropped plans for ? Aren't they just going to farm this part out 3rd party? If so then aren't they actually saving many millions on infrastructure?
👍👍👍
A £200 million saving to be precise !!
So a £200m saving was missed until now? Thats even more worrying.
I suggest NuckyT you put your white jacket back on with those big long sleeves 😂😂😂 you don't have to do anymore worrying then .
Forge masters will make the pressure vessels saving the cost to RR for a new factory positive news
😂😂l. So you’re certain the UK will go for RR SMR?
So explain what you think is going to replace all the coal and gas power stations around the world , with a carbon neutral quick solution ?????? Der ,,,,,,,,,,, Do bears sh_t in the woods thicko
Wakeboarder, I appreciate that gas and coal usage need to be reduced, heck all the climate zombies keep yelling that to us. However, when you realise that the politicians are only giving you lip service as they get kick backs from the oil, gas and coal industry. All that cash trough will disappear if clean energy was allowed to run free in the wild.
No, you underestimate the grift that goes on.
This is all about saying the right thing whilst doing nothing. Always has been.
Once an SMR is in place, how will the earn kick backs? There are not too many crooked revenue streams left.
Because it makes no sense why there would even be a hesitation in installing SMRs around the country, energy security should be priority number one.
@wakeboarder. Are you ok? You sound like you have issues.
Fordm
what coal industry ? the last british deep coal mine closed in 2018, only coal burned in this country now is imported from russia /australia/ poland and i dont think they will be throwing their money at the government. maybe the producers of the pellets burned in that supercon power station Drax which is supplied from the U.S.A. may help the government out but we will never find out if they do.
Jakeyork, I was not only speaking about the UK, Germany has gone back to coal, the US still burns coal and diesel for electricity, it's a global BS from BS governments.
National Grid Live tells you all you need to know regarding generation in the UK. All I expressed was an opinion that maybe RR SMR might not be the preferred method of generation… then again maybe it is? Was only a suggestion however looks like different suggestions are not allowed on this forum, unless certain people approve. Very uptight board these days but no need to worry, SP is still strong! Wakeboarder, I won’t take it personally being called a thicko from someone who doesn’t know whether it’s there or their as a collective.
NuckyT, if you read this thread, you'll see that most long-term Rolls-Royce investors see SMR's as the icing on the cake and are not solely the reason we're invested here.
Do you honestly believe any government would go 100% in any form of energy production.
So no Rolls-Royce 100% guarantees!.
Do I expect sone SMR order for the UK, yes, but you do know how long any SMR orders will take to feed through to the bottom line?
What's your interest here?
Are you an investor?
A bull or a bear, shorting or going long?
Or simply asking questions from a negative perspective?
Cev, I love RR, I’m an absolute RR champion. RR pulled me out the hole I was in after Covid to effect on the stock market. I’m 35% in here and intend to stay for the magic £7. SMR was the main reason I invested in here back in 2020/21 at £1.27. If anyone in the world can make SMR work I believe RR are the ones to do it. If the British can’t do SMR then it can’t be done anywhere IMO. It was only a suggestion today!
NuckyT, I agree 100%, I'm in at an average of 89.77p.
Yep £7 will be nice but I'll still hold.
Well worth a read in the context of energy supplies and the real way forward without China.
