At current sp Mr Market clearly thinks the most likely outcome for ROCK is insolvency due to lack of future funding . Here's hoping the Board have the business acumen to think outside the box to secure funds on reasonbale(or at least not awful) terms when funds dry up.Perhaps a deal to forward sell at a discounted price whatever we dig out of the ground in the future ...a bit like the Panoro Minerals(TSX ) Wheaton deal. David...hope you're reading!
Mr Market is down on most mining shares due to tepid commodity prices caused by persisting concerns about a global recession...and a long, deep global recession is now more or less guaranteed.
Copper and Zinc prices have tumbled to 16 month lows, so maybe Mr. P should have put all of his eggs and available funds into Plateau and the more resilient gold, rather than chase his big fat Greek zinc dream during these times of economic hardship (I will put this to David at the AGM on behalf of investors here who I now count as friends).
Funding will definitely be needed at some point soon and as Hoopy points out, it's not going to be an easy task securing that once recession bites down hard into anything junior miner related.
That is of course unless the junior happens to be top heavy into gold (not copper or zinc), have a signed and sealed JV with a major, and currently drilling in an area with fantastic gold grades (I give you Conroy - CGNR).
You're welcome...
WSG.
Kev, Phil, Michael, CJ you just don't give up do you.
We have the money for the time being.
you bleat on about raising as if it is a
cardinal sin. Go away and find some other
chat board to spread your drivel on.
There is more chance of Price turning up to the AGM
in his underpants that you making yourself known at
the AGM, let alone turn up.
you must think we are all mugs on here and then you dare
to call us friends.
Conroy has performed just as badly as the next but all of a subbed
you are attempting to promote it here.
Apparently that is against LSE rules so be careful.
what world do you live in where you do not even keep abreast with current events and up to date news. You would be better off in the world of insurance surely.
Nothing has changed with Rockfire
It has the funds and it is an exploration company with great potential
These type of shares always go up and down
It is a bargain at its current sp it will go up to over conroy when things progress
It is a waiting game always is
I have conroy aswell I have waited years with these aswell
They were cheap at 5p years ago and I will still hold these as if it works out they will increase
2 a.m here after a night out in the Big Apple, just about to order the biggest steak that I've ever seen!
@Morvins, fair enough if that's your strategy to wait it out for the next 5-10 years, but even then there is a massive risk that Rockfire will end up with nothing tangible.
Might as well just buy Rolex watches and Scotch whiskey barrels which are always going to get you a good return on your money, and are way less risky than entombed metal hoping and waiting to be mined.
I think a lot of the more recent investors in Rockfire (the last year or so) were shilled a dream to make a killing in a much shorter time frame, and probably invested way more than they should have after being convinced by one individual in particular that it was a "no-brainer".
I know I keep going back to this, but my friend was one of these poor investors who got roped into something that they knew nothing about, and then took the hit after realising that Rockfire was going nowhere.
Many more still have their funds trapped in Rockfire for the foreseeable, and it makes me angry to think that one individual is the cause for many gullible investors now suffering the consequences of his shilling.
For a 'professional' investor I still find it amazing that he didn't take into account the growing global economic concern and macro outlook before shilling people into investing their hard earned in a company and sector which was always going to suffer massively at the first sign of a recession.
Copper, Zinc and many other base metals are now officially in a bear market, which is always a precursor to a global recession...I will be very interested to hear what Mr. P has to say about this at the AGM considering that his strategy has been to concentrate mainly on those projects rather than the gold at Plateau.
I am now in the process of selling part of my property portfolio as I feel that the housing market is also going to be hit fairly soon once the recession gets its icy claws in.
We all need to batten down those hatches folks.
GLA.
WSG we all know you are Kevin Hornsby from the Sunday Roast , the Poopmount Guy. You such a greedy little piggy you cannot help but mention your next meal.
Lobster, Large stake, Châteaubriand etc
Do is all a favour here and flic off back to Morocco asap the room is beginning to spell bad.
I understand why the old family house in Newcastle has to go, rising rates are a pain yes, but only if you are over leveraged. You have no more intention of turning up at the AGM but no doubt have land to turn up on the register.
I always thought NYC was 5 hours behind which means 3am NOT 2am.
BUSTED for the third time Kev, you really need to pull your socks up Hornsby that was a school boy troll error
If I was in NY at 2-3am after a night out then I'd either be having s e x or asleep after it, not ordering food.
@OMM,
It was 2 a.m. when I started writing my earlier post but the steak was so big that I had to go and have a lie down LOL, in between eating it and finishing my factual and educational ramblings in here.
I do love my grub pal (although I wouldn't be so pertinent as to say that I was a greedy little piggy), but who the hell is this Kevin Hornsby character you speak of anyway??
Surely your posts about him are defamatory OMM, so you had better be careful what you write about people in here.
Do you have 'history' with Kev maybe, or is it Phil, or is it Michael, or is it poor old CJ?
Jeez, and I though that I was unpopular!!
Face facts OMM...your Rock-a-by baby shill has gone titty up and you can't stand the thought of your reputation being dragged into oblivion...time to hang up your boots bud, and retire to somewhere in S. America where you won't hear the screaming of the lambs anymore.
As I have said on many occasions, you owe it to your battered and bruised troops to turn up at the AGM and ask David in person what the heck is going on.
It was you and your "no-brainer" messages that got your loyal band of Brothers and Sisters into this dire situation after all...
I'll be there, but will you bud?
See you there then.
Have a good week
Hang on a minute, so you say you do not hold shares, have not held shares and will NEVER buy any shares in Rockfire. So why are you coming to the AGM?
WSG I have found you a friend over on the CLON chat board.
They are called innit2winnit. It would be good for you two to talk
as I sense you are two kindred spirits.
See you at the AGM then CJ
