Right! Schofield , you have emboldened me to try the Sarcy South African Santa ! For those who have rang previously, is it better to e-mail first and ask for a call back from Capt Shead, or call direct and risk getting the washerwoman/secretary/goldfish ? Cheers
sorry, it's all the anti-psychotic, anti-depressants and LSD I'm on
haha Patience ;o)
is a virture.. Patients are those like us, in this mental asylum
Pettycash - RS and associates has been asked in several calls to clarify the "near future" comment. His reply was it could be one week, two weeks, one month or two months. This takes us to end of November, additionally he did state at the AGM he expected it all to be completed by Christmas - hence his tidy up of loans/funding. Like all of us he can only go on the information he is fed. We have all been in situations where promises have been made and not kept - especially from the legal profession. It is frustrating and you would have hoped he would have learnt from previous comments on timescales. However we all need to accept delays happen and we certainly shouldn't be judging his integrity.
I think the time has come for you to ring him use you untamed wit and Journalistic prowess appeal to his heart strings tell him there are thousands of tiny children all over the country tugging at their father and mothers trouser legs begging to know if Santa will yet again deliver a shiny orange and a bag of nuts that they can consume whilst sitting on the top of the stairs listening to their parents scream I knew we shouldn't have invested our life savings in f**king Oxus my mother was right about you and the like or will they be rewarded with xbox,ps4 and the reassurance that their parents will no longer contemplate selling one of their kidney's for a cheeky top up
These things come out of the blue I lost heart in metal tech and was on the verge of selling out at 8p then woke up one morning and found they were worth 32p I have always believed that Oxus will win their case the final amount is anyone's guess the only thing I have been sceptical about ( and quite rightly as it has turned out ) is the pump and dump rumours of the past 12 months which I have traded on accordingly. I think RS has acted excellently through out re confidentiality re the very near future my take is that he was only relaying what he has been told by the legal team I also take heart from the fact that we have not been hit by Tom w's share prophets (and I would like to make it quite clear I am not a fan ) they constantly pick out and go after what they perceive to be shall we say less than honest CEO's in fact their comments have been at the least neutral if not bordering on the positive
Your right but with this situation people being impatient and selling brings the price down. If you have done your homework and are confident of a win you can buy up these impatient sells and get your average even lower and when the result comes and you have been confident in a win your patience have served you well. Or very well in some peoples case's. How ever no matter how confident someone can be, this is AIM and anything can happen haha
"Patients!?" ... are Oxus selling health equipment now? It'd probably be a machine that keeps you on life support for a "very" long time...or a pill that cures you in the "very near future"...ie when you're dead ! Iceberg - with all respect...the use of a term like "very" is an absolute. It means little difference if the context/profession is different. You start barking up that ree and all sorts of words can mean different things. Any right thinking person would see the use of "very near" as being days of weeks - even if you use your own logic, the case since the Arbitors met, has been 19 months, so even in that context, if you believe your logic, then it should mean a month or so. But "very near" means just that - imminent. That's the meaning. Two , 3 or 4 months etc just means he may as well not have said it. I don't think he should have said it - why did he feel the need to do that (even if he did feel the result was imminent?)...but it wasn't imminent was it? If Alex Ferguson (after 15 years at Man Utd) had said he was buying a player in the very near future , that wouldn't mean 3 months. If you were going on holiday in the very near future, it wouldn't mean February (despite you being on planet earth 40 years!! That timeframe prior to the statement is irrelevant. For what it's worth, I think RS was Bulling. In the past he has said he can't comment on timeframes because of secrecy clauses - but then TWICE does comment on timescales, but are both wrong. For heaven's sake if he's going to contradict himself, at least have the decency to elaborate on the timeframe... ie...If he said "My lawyers have led me to believe that we are withing 8 weeks of result"...what would be worng with that? It's specific and has clarity. Would that breach any confidentiality clauses - more so that "very near"
not always sure that applies to AIM stocks.....
'The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient.'
I can see where you are coming from but what you are saying is RS and the lawyers interpretation of those words are very different to every investor? If I have a 4 year old washing machine which looks like its about to break down and I said I need a new washing machine in the very near future, that would mean I need one in a few weeks, if my car breaks down and I say I need to replace it in the very near future that means in the next few weeks or maybe a month or 2. Of course this is a vey complex case and you cannot compare a fridge to this case but they are not stupid and I don't believe Shead and the lawyers interpretation of that term is any different, therefore if there was any doubt they should not have used it especially after end of 2014 comments. In my view RS has done a sterling job but saying these comments and getting it wrong once is forgivable, twice and you have to start wondering.
Actually Iceberg you're wrong....again... I spoke to Shead and his exact definition was up to 2 months so that takes us up to the end of November. That is exactly in line with everyone's definition.
have to disagree with most of the posts of this (nothing new then). Mr Shead's and the oxus lawyers very near, is obviously far different to most folks on here.(I strongly remember the folks saying days when the RNS came). Just because you don't agree with his definition of very near, doesn't mean you should start questioning his motives. If anybody has thin patience my suggestion is sell up and bugger off. Finally if you think they are dragging their feet. I strongly suggest you read up on a few other arbitration cases. For quite possible the most complicated Uncitral case of this decade, this is moving at almost lightening speed. Sorry grump over, resume....
Agreed - to both posts! I am not talking to my wife until I know the result... to be honest, I would be happy with a double-bubble, anything else, would be a distinct bonus! Christmas would be paid for in one day... yipee!! :) Result soon, I hope! GLA.
Just think how many man hours have been wasted by us all checking this daily. .. I could have spent the time doing something useful or talking to my girlfriend. On second thoughts let's keep ourselves in purgatory for a bit longer!
...I haven't done the arithmetic but one has to think 'what the hell have they been doing to take so long. There is only so much information to be investigated, so much equipment to be valued, so much potential earnings to be deliberated. Maybe they only get together once a month and Oxus is just one of their many cases. Who knows ?? I think we are all tired of this and a possible outcome could easily be way south of what many are expecting. I've resigned myself to 5p / share and would not be unhappy with Vlad's 17p......anything above 25p would be life changing......so I'll stick to 5p !!...for now
I agree with you lse, especially after the "end of 2014" comment. Arbitration proceedings have been going on for 1540 days so in that context very near future to me means a couple of months maybe 3 which ties in to the end of Dec. If it goes into 2016 you have to really question the motives behind the "very near" comment.
Indeed, my sentiments exactly!
We are coming to crunch time now. If we don't hear anything by the end of November then that statement on the half year report was misleading IMO. Nothing by Christmas and it was outright deceitful and used for an agenda. My patience here is wearing thin. If you have no idea of time lines then you shouldn't give any, full stop.
Buy was more likely a sell .... to buy 250K would be more like 3.88p
Don't mind waiting a few weeks into the "very near future" that we are 7 weeks into, but I wish they'd hurry the f00k up with the verdict :)
A lot of unnecessary personal comments on this bb. Putting others down to make oneself look bigger, makes one look small to most with sense. Unless you are trading this share it truly matters not whether you entered at 2p or 4p if you are staying for the result. Granted at 2p you can now be free riding even trading with profits, but unless you are a friend of rs, rab, or Darwin, that just makes you lucky. Anyone entering on spike in 4's here must have done so on the basis of potential awards from minim to maxim and have been happy with that return. why oh why would a person want to ridicule that.
He is one of lifes dreamers/losers, full of great ideas and knowledge but ultimately everything he touches turns to mush. Its bitter sweet, to see someone like le Onion finally get one right would be painful but then again if he loses we lose.
