#NCYT
**£98m cash

Is this the most ridiculous SP of all time?
More than double in cash**'*

Expecting few baggers on #ncyt
Earl.... you're nearly three years late to this looney party lad.
I had these back in 2019 January c25p

Earl imo it comes down to trust - or lack of trust in Nova management plus of course the massive contingent liability hanging over the company's head. Huge upside if Nova win comprehensively with an £80m plus payday (my TP in this scenario is £3-£4), likewise if the DHSC wins comprehensively Nova's in trouble. The company's mantra is "we have a strong case", it seems many shareholders are struggling to believe them. Investing in this company is currently a significant roll of the dice imo, however I have built a nice position in the 70p-80p range as I believe Nova will be ok.
Earl - the government are suing us for all cash and more, hence share price.
PI100
aren't NCYT also suing the Government?
Counterclaim, yes. But I know who I back to have better and more expensive lawyers which, essentially, is what will win the case.
Blimey! its like you want the Dhsc to win, have to say its an unusual angle on investing in my book! #fulloftheproverbial imo
Not at all. However I’m more of a realist than some
Of the trolls and Uber positive posters on here.
Based on how this company is being run, do you seriously think they haven’t dropped a ball somewhere along the line which the dhsc lawyers will pick apart?
p100 - when i checked out both legal teams - they both seem good. i would prob give a slight edge to the gov team.
looking objectively - i suspect both sides have the ability to "drop the ball"...
personally at this time i don't think it will get to court - most commercial litigation cases don't.
what is more important is where the company are going in the future ...get this right now that salad man has gone and it will lessen any impact should decisions go against ncyt
Capt Swag, in your opinion, how long will we have to wait for a settlement?
KH - No idea but my bet would be at least a year possibly 2
I think people have been talking of 2-3 years for a court case. I would think that could be reasonable. Lets assume both parties play chicken in trying to negotiate.
but in all honesty just guessing here
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11439869/Family-run-firm-won-contract-procure-PPE-forced-pay-70m-supplying-faulty-PPE.html
this article was published on 17.11.22, perhaps the Nova vs DHSC case may not take as long as we think?
"A pest firm has been forced to pay £70million after supplying the NHS with faulty masks and gowns at the height of the pandemic."
"Now Pestfix has paid a £70million settlement to the Department of Health for defective PPE following mediation."
Itsawrap selling faulty good warrants being sued. Do we know the grounds under which the dhsc are suing ncyt? I find it crazy that they are, considering it was ncyt who are out of pocket in all this
The pestfix settlement represents 20% of the £350m they received. If gowns are the wrong size it's not subjective and they've still came out £280m ahead, the accuracy of our assays is. All the company has to do is show that the sample collection methods were flawed or there were shortcomings in the processing of the tests. They've already accredited every assay we've supplied under contract to the DHSC, using their own very rigorous process.
2-3 years.
Prob after the election :-)
I have one going to court Feb. Minor. 2yrs 2 months. Had 7-8.
4 in the last 6 years. None shorter than 18 months…even the admiited responsibility one took 2 1/2 years.
Longest was 6 years . High Court.
Defendants destroyed evidence!! Waste of time but solicitors got rich.
Corporate is often longer than private and follows very strict protocol. It’d be good to hear some evidence of length of time involved in other dhsc disputes.
No decisions forthcoming for long while (IMO)…I actually have no idea of course. But less than 18 months would surprise me. Lawyers usually spin it out when they can too, but it’s a bit tighter these days. In the Eighties…6 years , my solicitors took the p*** but it is tighter now. I don’t see any reason to speculate on the outcome.
All cases are separate and on their own merit and there is nompoint comparing with another which is not related in essence, especially as we don’t know what the issue really was.
I am still curious as to the real reasons behind this relentless drop. Great buying opportunity though IMO.
Can we consider how the board will profit if there is a lowball takeover? Naturally I think the company is dead but not adverse to considering such options. With DA disappearing without trace and complete silence, one can only assume they’re finished trying to make the company work, but what is really in it for them? Higher paying jobs at the acquirer? Big envelope to toddle off quietly?
These aren’t accusations, merely questions as the silence is so deafening that we have to come up with our own theories!
It feels very much like what the tories are doing with the nhs - run it into the ground so hard that there is no option but a takeover (or privatisation in the case of the nhs).
p100
I am not sure the bod could orchestrate a low ball offer - as the SH seem to be mostly PI?
how would they get it past us? any third party trying to buy a stake would inflate the SP like bio did
now if the company were in debt then they could do a placing and dilute the existing SH to nothing...but we are not in debt. i know that if they lose to dhsc it could be a different story but lets assume that is 2-3 years away - CRL's post made a lot of sense on timescales to me.
if i was one of the bod - I would be speaking to bio and finding out what they saw in us worth buying a stake..then maybe focus on that?
Fair points swag. They’ll get it past us like they got da’s ratification and the payrises past us. Any PI with sense would have voted against both, but certainly the latter. They were unanimously waved through when in reality not a single PI should have backed those pay rises as they were wrong on literally every level, morally and performance wise.
Well yes it would inflate it but at this rate it’ll be inflating it from about 30p. Don’t think the acquirer would then be too concerned about a 25% spike. 25% spike from £3 is another matter.
To be fair it probably isn’t sinister, it’s more they’re just **** at their jobs and have done absolutely nothing for 2.5 years other than watch unexpected riches roll in (and soon to possibly roll out).
12 days later and Allmond is still listed as CEO on the company site. Sums up this shambles.
Better email Mandy then!
Companies House records were updated with the departure of DA early last week, but as you say their website has never been updated.
Capt Swag...... they will find a way of getting anything past shareholders if its to their benefit.
