Highly likely?I see you work with "professors", so did I.Many of them are frauds despite their qualifications,I was a professional research biochemist that's all.
As all scientists agree any qualitative research like this is statistical in essence and does not take account of inherent factorial bias.
Don't "diss me" please.
Adult doses (of vitamin D3) should be 4000 - 6000 IUs, with zinc, and VitaminK2... For best conversion and results
Remember that trials can be tweeked and set up in a way to fail, or to give a result to fit a narrative.
Without going down a conspiracy rabbit hole (oops too late), vitamin D is not what the pharmaceutical industry wants you to know about. A cheap and readily available supplement that could prevent cancer, diabetes, etc.. The list is endless... Oh yeah, and prevent severe symptoms of diseases like covid.
@bullraider, I think it is highly likely that the professor who lead the trial at the University where I work knows a bit more about Vitamin D than you personally.
Two sheds, if the trial had been successful it would have saved huge sums of money and potentially many lives.
Prefer the Lancet or BMJ for peer reviewed articles on trials, the Daily Mail is headline grabbing drivel and always biased.
Immune cell behaviour... Mushrooms
Yes twosheds, don't believe all you read in the daily sh*te!
Vitamin D IS significant,it is a basic primer of the immune system, the NHS is doing it's best by giving out VitD.
Perhaps you should read the latest research by marie clair on this topic. Apparently air pollution is the main factor here, also regular exercise, fresh air and attention to the behaviour of humans.I'm glad I made 5 gallons of elderberry wine last year!
@bobminor, I agree entirely that the medical staff are fantastic but it seems there are a lot of bad apples at the top of the tree!
The reason why people evolved to have white skin was to convert sunlight in summer into vitamin D (the body can only make vitamin d when the sun is high in the sky, (typically between 11 - 2)), and store it in fat cells ready to use in winter months.
Vitamin D is vital in preventing all manner of diseases, and is the most effective way in prolonging our lives.
Look into it!
Some say it shouldn't even be called a vitamin.
Unfortunately people with darker skins (who have typically lived closer to the equator, and have evolved to make small amounts due to all year round high sun) and live in northern latitudes, have a severe lack of vD.
Really quite inefficient but the heart is in the right place.
(heart being the medical staff)
@kaeren, I think what it establishes is that the NHS wastes a heck of a lot of money.
I would guess re the vitamin D that they perhaps were trying to establish if a vitamin D supplement helped level off the incidences of covid infection when looking at white versus ethnic minority cases. It is an established fact that ethnic minority population in the UK often have insufficient levels of vitamin D. I don't know if that is diet related or not. There was another vitamin D trial last year in conjunction with diabetes and dialysis patients to try and establish if vitamin d helped, as again the incidence in some minority groups is much higher then in the white population. Hope that's phrased in such a way as to not cause any offence as none intended. Any attempt at levelling up is great imo and if a supplement could have helped then worth investigating.
200k shares is about 0.3% of the company in one single trade - have there been any purchases as big as that since biosynex starting buying?
Why does the NHS spend £8MILLION a month on Vitamin D pills when the experts say they are no good for anything at all?
This was covered in the Daily Mail
Last week, a major UK trial provided solid evidence that Vitamin D does not reduce the risk of catching Covid or of developing severe symptoms. More than 6,000 people were given daily Vitamin D tablets or a dummy pill.
After six months, the researchers at Queen Mary University of London found that those on the genuine supplement were no less likely to have been infected. If they did get Covid, their symptoms were no better or worse.
A lot of people sat on the sidelines that just jumped in there. When it moves it moves fast. 200k shares. Don't believe BIO's previous buying action has resulted in such big buys so maybe we have a knight in shining white armour. We'll find out soon. GLA
My thoughts either Bio or a ii.
Government shutting all the big labs down, thinking COVID is dead. They will need help from the likes of NCYT
My 00
Good price movement. My family is quite fortunate to continue to receive free tests as my son is a medical student. I agree the government is reckless at stopping tests at this critical time.
Hope sons okay and you . It is everywhere , poor elderly no tests and a short window for antiviral if required.
Something definitely afoot. I'm very rarely in to catch intraday movements but my son's got covid and I feel abysmal. It's sweeping through South Wales again.
It makes you wonder who’s in the know, and if something major is imminent.
Great to see such positive price action - Nanopore's resolution result has certainly added to the investment case here and one would there's a high chance of a TR1 landing any day...
Bring on the build up to full year results.
Stands to reason if major news in NCYTs favour is about to drop re the DHSC resolution, then buyer's who want in, maybe like Biosynex amongst others need to buy bigger and quicker if they want these prices.
Tr1 soon ??
