And i'm sure they have it figured out how they can still get the Tax benefits in the deal.
I think there are more things going on with Moni than you can guess at. That's why they Brought on Gavin James to get the books and mess straightened out. He's also a Liquidator of companies and probably has a plan for that too. If Bidco has to do a takeover they will only need 50.01% of the stock or whatever they need for control, and then they can do anything they want, including selling the parts, Finkit to Fiserv and the rest for what they can get. And who know what the other shareholders will get in the process. JMO
I agree but what good is that thought going to do now. They were probably positioning themselves in case someone else might be interested in Moni at a slightly higher price, like some takeover artists that want to make a fast buck with some good new and then sell out for a profit. Doesn't look like that will happen either.
mjv - the gripe is,that clearly Bidco think the company is worth more than the bid ! Why reserve their right to make an increased offer ,if another bidder appears ? That is what probably galls a lot of folk !
Abbott......you seem to forget it Fiserv takes over Moni is OUT! I didn't hear anything about Moni being good enough to partner with them, seem they want to buy them cheap because they Might be able to use them with their customers in the future, not Moni's. Somebody has to plug the hole in the Ship and it sure isn't going to be Moni IMO
If Monitise is good enough for Bidco to offer 3.1p, it is good enough for me to stay invested at 2.93p. Well I guess then you have the money and process that Bidco does. Makes sense.
and vote NO!
If Monitise is good enough for Bidco to offer 3.1p, it is good enough for me to stay invested at 2.93p

IBM did not invest financially into partial ownership of MONI which is what would be required to satisfy balance sheet or longevity concerns. Completely different than what was done.
Is there a reason for JP Morgan to but such small numbers of shares, another RNS today with 2,500 shares?
Monitise Americas would make a nice valueable Spin Off and cash in to support this flipping FINkit product. https://open.spotify.com/album/52DYRQWPEu00yJBDHJAMIw
Moni has had IBM as a partner for years and that relationship hasn't overcome whatever marketplace objections there are to the Finkit proposition, so I'm siding with mjvusa on this one. Furthermore I've bitten the bullet, sold up and crystallised a significant 6-figure loss. I'd like to say the experience has made me a more thoughtful investor rather than more cynical, however I don't foresee a good outcome from a no vote and whilst I have no respect for the BoD and would cheer if they were fired en masse, I wasn't prepared to risk my remaining funds for the privilege of watching that (remote) possibility. Others may think differently. GLA
Hey Monitise Shareholders Standard Chartered In Dubai looking for Fintech Companies Check out RAKBANK
I am not short. I don't think the others stating to vote no are short either. They're longs who knew the value of selling off some assets and getting a financial partner is better than a takeover at this price. If the reason for lack of sales is bc of concerns over the size of the company (valid) then having a "partner" like an IBM or a Fiserv or another large institution takes that off the table and there will be use for Finkit. If you don't think there is use for Finkit what exactly its a company like Fiserv going to do with Moni? They are not in the voucher business.
Seems nobody had an information to predict Moni would be where it is now except that it was still burning money with no Finkit sales in view. How do you think you can predict anything but more of the same from what you know now? If things don't line up on this sale you got more of the same. Some of the people here might even be shorts and telling you to vote NO just to pick up some more change if the deal falls through. JMO You ever see some other company want to get in a bid this late if they were interested in making one. I haven't. Moni is Done either way. It's called a Fire Sell Off of any assets after this bid comes to a head.
maddog - is that Barclays Plc or the others ? The others ,might be interesting !
say no to sale
75% of the votes not the overall shares if I recall.
I will have to go back to the original RNS when I have time, but from memory, I don't think they need 75% of the total issued shares to push this through.
Cheers for that...

When is the vote being counted?
WOF- I believe, rightly or wrongly, that the deal will get rejected. Life after that is the big question ? If there is/are another body or bodies interested then I suspect they will not want to hang around .The longer they do ,the more expensive it will become to takeover the company ; and don't forget, Fiserv have publically reserved the right to increase their offer, should another bidder appear ! It's almost as though they expect it !
And will likely trade to around 2.5- 2.6 pence immediately after. Anyone's guess what happens after that with other offers....
