Menzies Aviation and Avianca strengthen partnership with three new contracts
18/11/21
Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, today announces an additional three new contracts with major Latin American carrier Avianca.
These wins will see Menzies become the airline’s ground handling service provider at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ), and air cargo handler at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS).
The new contracts represent a significant expansion of Menzies and Avianca’s partnership and follow Avianca’s recent award of a warehouse cargo handling services contract to Menzies at Miami International Airport, which will see Menzies handle approximately 250,000 tonnes of cargo per annum for the carrier, Menzies’ largest ever single cargo contract.
Earlier this month, Menzies started providing a full suite of ground handling services for an expected six flights per week at LAX connecting the US West Coast with Latin American countries. LAX is a major strategic location for the airline and is Menzies’ largest station in the Americas.
Operations in Canada also launched this month, with Menzies providing ramp handling and cabin cleaning services at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). Menzies will initially support three flights per week to Colombia with the expectation of this increasing as Canada grows in popularity as a tourist and business destination for Avianca’s customers in the Latin American region. With the commencement of these services Menzies has extended its coverage into Terminal 1 at YYZ, which means it has an operational presence across all of the airport’s terminals.
Finally, Menzies has won a three-year contract for cargo and freighter ramp handling services at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (AMS). Representing four turns a week and 15,000 tonnes of cargo annually, the contract will increase Menzies’ perishable cargo handling at AMS. The win also means that Menzies will cover two major hubs in Avianca’s flower distribution network, including Miami International Airport.
Not that the share price is recognising any of this news flow (sigh)
Menzies Aviation fuels British Airways’ transatlantic flight with sustainable aviation fuel
12/11/21
Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, supported British Airways’ first transatlantic flight following the lifting of US restrictions by fuelling flight BA001 with sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
The British Airways A350 flight was directly powered by a 35% blend of SAF, made from used cooking oil. It is believed to be the first commercial transatlantic flight to be operated with such a significant level of SAF blended with traditional jet fuel.
BA001, the flight number previously reserved for Concorde, departed London Heathrow Airport in a synchronised take-off with Virgin Atlantic’s VS3 flight on 8 November as the US lifted restrictions that had been imposed on travellers from the UK for more than 18 months. Both flights were bound for New York, JFK.
Menzies Aviation is the world’s largest independent provider of aviation fuelling services, providing fuel storage management and into-plane fuelling services on four continents.

Aeromexico contract win at 15 airports
John Menzies plc, the global aviation logistics specialist, today announces that Menzies Aviation ("Menzies") has secured a significant contract win with Mexico's flagship carrier and largest international airline, Aeromexico, which includes ground services at 15 airports across the country.
As part of the three year agreement Menzies will deliver a full suite of ground services to the airline, including passenger, ramp and cleaning operations, for an expected 23,000 flights per annum at stations including Los Cabos International Airport, Mérida International Airport, Del Bajío International Airport and Oaxaca International Airport. Following this award Menzies Aviation will be the largest provider of aviation services to Aeromexico in the region.
The contract represents further delivery of Menzies' clear growth strategy and builds on recent positive contract win momentum in the Latin America region, following recent wins with American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Wingo and Air Transat. This strong performance in the region reflects Menzies' strategic investment in new emerging market territories to create growth opportunities across its service portfolio.
Positive start this morning with BA and virgin both taking of simultaneously to the US... US airlines stocks up in pre market. Hopefully 300 is the new low from now
I believe the rise is due to pfizer announcing a pill with high efficacy to treat covid. The whole market is up.
Bout time this moved. Like to think we’d got a £5 t/o but thinking it to do with transatlantic travel reopening.
Menzies Aviation goes green at Manchester Airport with new Aer Lingus transatlantic routes
04/11/21
Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, announces the expansion of its contract with Aer Lingus at Manchester Airport to provide passenger, ramp, cabin cleaning and de-icing services for both long and short haul flights.
Supporting new transatlantic routes, the contract has also provided Menzies an opportunity to increase the amount of electric ground service equipment (GSE) within its fleet, as part of its wider goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2033, Menzies’ 200th Anniversary. Menzies now has a significant amount of electric wide body kit within its Manchester fleet; paving the way to having the widest selection of electric GSE at Manchester Airport.
Menzies has partnered with Aer Lingus at Manchester Airport for over a decade and this latest contract win recognises the passion and pride of the Menzies team, who were excited to support Aer Lingus’ new route to Barbados last month, with routes to New York JFK Airport and Orlando International Airport set to launch in the coming months.

" Short selling is already illegal in Germany,.."
THIS IS FALSE INFORMATION
In Germany naked short selling of shares is banned ....BUT....Covered short selling is permitted
Someone (you?) needs to do some homework and learn what that means and the rules of short disclosure are there

2.86 In sectors where the pandemic’s impacts are still being felt, the government is helping to
preserve jobs and expertise, including by extending the Airport and Ground Operations Support
Scheme (AGOSS) in England for a further six months.
The original scheme was capped at £8M per company but not sure what the rule is with the extension (or to what extent mnzs may benefit).
Yeah the political correct brigade get up in arms if we mention P*a*k*i*s*t*a*n* !!
Weird, why did mention of a certain Asian country (next to India) end up with some of the letters being replaced automatically by ** when I submitted the post?
But this is only one of the airports they serve. TSA passenger data for the US has been constantly around 80% pre-pandemic levels for the year. With international travel opening up both in the US and other destinations they serve (such as Australia and ****stan) I don't think that it will take mnzs anything like that long to recover.
...results today. Cargo at 90% of pre-virus levels, but "Traffic is not expected to fully recover until at least 2026."
Recovery may be slower than expected here.
Does gentlemans bet mean that's a cast iron guarantee? Assume so.. :)
There he is...enjoying the nasdaq today!
375-400 by end of Q4...gentleman's bet!

Menzies Aviation reinforces commitment to improving gender diversity with new targets
06/10/21
Menzies Aviation, the global aviation logistics specialist, reinforces its commitment to improving gender diversity by announcing new targets focused on increasing the representation of women in leadership roles and improving diversity across its business.
Menzies is aiming for at least 40% of middle leadership roles in the company to be occupied by women by 2033, its 200th anniversary, and 25% of senior leadership roles by 2025, in line with the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) 25by2025 campaign.
As part of Menzies’ commitment to improving diversity and sustainability, the company has joined the United Nations Global Compact and committed to aligning strategies and operations with ten universal principles on human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption. Menzies will report progress to the UN across these areas annually. As a signatory, Menzies is taking part in the UN’s Target Gender Equality accelerator programme to advance women’s representation and leadership across the business.
Menzies has made progress over the past year in increasing the number of women in middle leadership roles, who currently represent 32% of those positions. In the UK cargo business for example, women now hold 45% of operational management roles.
There has also been encouraging growth in the number of women taking on ground handling roles, with our Australia and New Zealand teams achieving notable success by doubling the number of women working as ramp agents . This follows Menzies’ pledge to recruit 120 female ramp agents across the two countries during 2021. There are now 97 women employed as ramp agents, with 30 of those employees also working shifts on passenger check-in.
The Covid-19 pandemic presented an opportunity for employees to upskill and move into different areas of the business. This has led to an increase in women taking on ramp agent roles. Pelin Telci, who transferred from the passenger team to the baggage room and ramp department at Melbourne Airport commented on her new role: “The job was hard to start with, however after a while you get used to the lifting. I’m not saying it’s for every woman, but it is an avenue I can recommend, especially if you enjoy varied tasks.”
Natalie Eagle has worked for Menzies for one year at Brisbane Airport and was initially hesitant to join the ramp team due to the lack of diversity. She said: “I am so glad I didn’t let anxiety stop me from stepping out of my comfort zone and learning a new skill set, and I would encourage other women to do the same no matter what role it is because you’ll be so proud of yourself for doing it, plus you’ll never know if it’s for you until you try it.”
Juliet Thomson, Executive Vice President – People, Menzies Aviation, said: “At Menzies, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive organisation. The aviation industry has always been ma
Interesting stock - wish I hadn’t sold out... might buy back in
A rare bit of blue in my PF today which bodes well considering the blood bath elsewhere.
Chart looks in good nick - double bottom has formed I can see this breaking out above recent highs in the next couple of months as more travel restrictions are eased.
US travel opened up for fully vaccinated...
I am sure the patience here will pay off big time at some point over the next few months.
