A very muted response to an excellent set of results - extremely resilient in view of the freight costs. Reinstated that they will meet expectations.
Might be getting another broker forecast soon as has picked up well.
John Hornby, Chief Executive Officer of Luceco commented:
"D-Line's product range is a natural fit alongside our existing categories. The business has developed a strong brand in the UK and internationally, and we are particularly excited about the opportunity to leverage D-Line's operation in North America to support our growing business in the territory."
Hopefully we will see this continue and move past the 200p mark.
Share price is going on a great upward run following the results release. It looked to have settled 160-165 but has surged on beyond that. Long term holders/followers might remember the 2020-21 run that saw 9x from 56p to 497p. Could this keep going to 200 and beyond? With 6.2% revenue growth and 30% growth in operating profit as per their Q1 announcements, they would be performing in line with 2021($220m revenue, $29m operating profit). Yet this is sat at 10P/E vs c. 17 P/E in 2021-22. Feels like this has plenty of headroom
Being held back at the moment. Will go up quickly soon.
I listened to Paul Scotts Pod cast over the weekend and he was very happy with the results, fingers crossed the tide will turn.
Decent increase in profits on flat revenues, but with improved margins and a reduction in debt. Divi up too.
Good start to 2024, so all looking positive.
RNS not being displayed on LSE (again)
Went up today.
No idea. sometimes small moves in the share price get picked up and exaggerated as all the technical traders see a trend develop. Finals next week will tell us what's happening.
Starting to get a bit worried now, any idea why we have the constant SP drop, i thought this was a solid company. GLA.
Share price has been tanking here recently. Any ideas?
No. We had an after hours RNS last night but that was just to say the Pension fund had bought more shares. No idea why the drop today.
Terrible day here today with lots of large sells - anyone of anything significant - can’t find a reason
Yep, a good little company that is growing quite rapidly. Had some cashflow issues but has just sold one division for £30m (and total market cap is c£25m!!) so these are now resolved.
LUCE recently bought c9% of the company and as part of the net zero offering (solar, LED etc) i believe LUCE supply the LEDs that EAAS fit.
They have a lot of contracts with schools - over the holidays they refit the whole lighting system over to LED at no upfront cost. If the electricity saving is c50% the school 'pays' maybe 20% a year to cover the cost, so still makes say 30% annual saving in total.
Anyone know anything about them? Hornby has just been made an NED on their board. Are there good synergies here>
The old saying is "buy on rumour sell on news." as often official updates are predicted in advance, and then seem to disappoint. At the beginning of this month we were trading around 120-125, Now we're at 140. Things are going in the right direction.
Tends to happen quite often. Increase up to info, then sell off after once news out even if good. Then will come back up again if it was good news and likely higher than before the news and create a new base line. Rob
Im a new holder of this stock, any thoughts on why the drop today, i thought the Trading Update was good.
Can someone shed some simple understanding on the strange trade types that are going through:
Ordinary, non protected portfolio, singe protected transaction
Ordinary, trade was executed as an SI
Thanks
A rule change to allow the 2 biggest shareholders to buy more shares, and 2 trading days later we see a very big volume and a large sp rise. I suspect we should see an RNS in the next few days to confirm one of them has been buying.
Very interesting (once you get past the legal speak. Lawyers should never be allowed to write anything - only check what has been written in simple English)
What I interpret from this is messes Horny & Brand want to increase their stake in the company. No one knows the business better than those 2 & they already have a lot of skin in the game, so this bodes well for the business and the share price.
Black Rock would hardly be bidding for them.
Blackrock increased their holding to 10% and just bought another 50,000.
possible bid at historically low price
For the last month or so, LUCE has traded around 120-125. In the last few days, it's climbed up to the mod 30s, at a time when markets have been generally negative. Any ideas?
Good fiector buy yesterday 50 thousand pounds worth, should be a trading update early next year
