I still have my shares in Kaz are they worth any thing please can some one tell me and how to get some of my money back
The people holding out last year against the terms they were offered must be rather thankful they were bought out. It looks as if the companies in which certain Kazakh businessmen previously close to Mr. Nazarbayev made their fortunes are going to be fleeced. Katz must be close to the top of the list. Unless Kaz’s ability to complete the Baimskaya development will affect relations with Russia.
Hello it seems I missed the last date to sell KAZ shares. Can someone explain how I could get rid of them?
Shame kaz has gone; but Gotta keep those fees rolling in and don't forget the interbank competition for those fees! Those oligarchs sure do pay well (or so i heard).
Having bought in at 13.50 and 9.30 in 2011/12, this LTH is feeling a bit bitter at this fait accompli. It still considerably undervalues the company and is being whipped away from under our noses for a steal. Yes, my motive was to make money as well, but the oligarchs greed is beyond belief.
Corporatism and cronyism have one over long-term value and a positive future.
ii have the new offer acceptance deadline as the 5th May. I doubt anything interesting will come up, but the AGM is 29th April.
With todays RNS I guess it time to accept. If you don't accept and they just take them anyway will you still get the divi offered? Wife still has a small holding.
CloudyMountain: you may well have been taken for a ride. The deferred bankable feasibility study hasn’t been published, has it? Who knows what that’s got in it? There’s gold in them thar hills. I don’t suppose that will see the light of day now. These chaps are not philanthropists, they’re plutocrats unafflicted with scruples. . Always have been.
I hope that Mr. Southam, having been allowed by the shareholders and the FCA to occupy a seat on the “Independent Committee”, will enjoy the perquisites of his office in the newly private company.
Just in case anyone is relying on the comment below, it’s wrong - the deadline is today, 20/4/21 at just before midnight (according to my offer details).
I feel I’m being taken for a ride but have little choice. I’ve felt like that throughout the offer, as if I’m trying to get a taxi in a third world country. I really thought that the takeover would fail and that the SP would have risen had it bitten the dust.
I saw that bit too and decided to sell up.
You keep your shares and don’t receive the £8.50.
The offer details say that if you keep your shares, you may be unable to sell them. I don’t know if that’s scaremongering but I thought I’d tell you.
Any “big boys” fooling about in Kaz like this would have done far better to have switched into Anto or Glencore. Most miners operate in dodgy jurisdictions but you’d have to go a long way to find one dodgier than Kazakhstan. Still, with any luck one of the enterprising investment banks may be willing to arrange an IPO for Kazakhmys in a year or two, and everyone will have the opportunity to buy back the mines they paid Mr. Kim $300mm. to take off their hands a few years ago. What investment bankers cheerfully refer to as “a good deal for everyone”. Cheers.
It had to be backhanders for the big boys surely. Looking back at the SP movements throughout the offer period, its clear some knew what the top offer would be, and were able to buy up to the offer level, surely on the understanding they would agree the offer. I think it stinks, but hey, thats the way it works.
To all the sad muppets that voted to sell, my commiserations to you, that you were willing to sell yourselves short and not wait for another offer or the price to nudge higher to what levels they were previously.
All you have to do is look at other miners, AA/Antofagasta all on the march, same as Evraz, higher know that before the Pandemic and even halved in price through the Pandemic, and low and behold, owned by similar people, this was a chance for the small boys to gather together to get the best return, but then the individuals involved could possibly be so devious, we would get shafted anyway!!!!!
2Daman, like you I am sad to see the situation of this share after investing in it over the last 15 years. RIP
I just accepted the takeover offer. My broker confirmed what others had stated since Friday PM: if you are still holding shares, you have the option of accepting the offer now. This option has to be exercised before 20 April.
The difference is having the cash in account now, with certainty, and available for other buy opportunities. Worth losing approx 0.5% for.
Doing a bit of research/keeping in touch with company news pays off. Those who did not want to wait and sold late Friday or early Monday got 2% more than those who are just realising they want to sell their shares now, but they might wait a month for the cash.
If folks will miss KAZ and want a share with similar sp growth then checkout Glencore as their chart is similar. I do not hold as I am too keen on XTR and JLP. If they jump then the KAZ takeover will have been a blessing in disguise for me. Did not sell earlier and missed recent JLP rise as I believed the offer would be rejected and sp would have then gone to £10. Hey ho. Patience.
Ok just looked into.
I don't have kaz but my dad has
can anyone tell me what happens if he holds on after this takeover, will he lose his money or will they continue under another name, can't be asked to read into it.
The date for accepting the offer has been extended to 21 April.
If I don’t accept takeover offer do I get shares in private company or do I automatically get 8.50 payment ?
Apologies for my lack of knowledge
@Tran6363 Ex-div date is 13 April so if you have sold today you won't be getting it. The div is currently priced into the stock and after the record date it will drop to 850 to reflect this.
You have basically missed out on the difference between what you sold and 869.5/share + any costs involved for liquidating the position.
Have spoken to Halifax Share Dealing this morning (on hold 20m) they explained that the chance to accept the offer had expired. Not content with this, I contacted the receiving agents Computershare, they where extremely helpful and explained that the offer has been extended and that the nominee holder should complete a TTE Instruction (Crest) which will allow me to accept the offer. So much for HSDL
