Realist1,
No Footlocker in that list?
The shorts are back so my guess, is next week the price should head back down to 116p range. The last week in the month of May should see a recovery in the share price due to the result announcement.
Once we crack 123.82p imv, it's nxt resistance is around 142p,run upto results end of May update looks possible pending usual world affairs and UK govs guff.
Nike had three retail partners in the US, that is, Dick's Sporting Goods, JD Sports, and Hibbett. Now Nike only have two. So, unless anything changes, it could be looking good for JD in the US.
When the US acquisition completes do not be surprised with a US listing - think outside the box Alessandro.
I read everyones post on here and always respect all opinions, same as outside this board
as already previously posted on here fy results end may will be positive SP RISE,this what markets looking for and more to stabilise price, big year for jd.
last week and this week got jd wrong twice, this is what you get for a volatile sp, and why I bought into them,im ready to go again, never put off, always positive
im a believer
off now take my big black lab for run, looks like he is on steroids with all the exercise he gets
One of the shorts looked to of gone, marshall face lip, since 31st April
Mary started convo, rest added opinions.
Whats issue it's a discussiard on here I thought.
Why are some people even discussing an US listing? I can read no where else that it is even being considered by JD.
Puma up more than 3% - so we should be well supported today.
That's right golden, but let's theorised, if jd dual listed imagine all those usa funds that would need too add/buy in there funds, ie like say our ftse 100 tracker funds, 250 350 ect.
Maybe the short buying by funds pension funds ect, give us a nudge, but dual listing does not always match our UK prices ect.
Even if JD went on its own it wouldn’t give an extra value to shareholders (unless yanks buy up the shares post list)
If the minimum Nasdaq share is to list at £5 JD would just consolidate the share count to c4 to 1 so take all your shares off you and give you one share back for every one you owned (I’ve used a crude 4 to one but forex and share price on the day unknown)
Your holding would be worth exactly the same
Golden I just reread your post yes I understand, so hibbetts $84=£67 so that be around what 57 jds for 1 hibbetts yes correct value term, but I was stating if jds as a stand alone entity on Nasdaq not consolidation of shares, I get you pal, my bad.
What are the requirements to be listed on Nasdaq?
NASDAQ Listing Requirements
Requirement Income Standard Total Assets/ Total Revenue Standard
Total Assets and Total Revenue (in latest fiscal year or in two of last three fiscal years) - $75mm and $75mm
Publicly Held Shares 1.1mm 1.1mm
Market Value of Publicly Held Shares $8mm $20mm
Bid Price $4 $4
I assume nasdaq is correct in there requirements, I on the basis jds lists not almagnate into hibbetts
At Falcon that’s not correct. The share values are but they won’t inflate the value of the business instead they would just consolidate the share count
Your holding would be worth exactly the same. It’s only if the yanks want to value the business higher
Ps Mary
If you think JDS will list on the nasdaq, I would buy more then if I was you, as listing rules it's got to list at $5 and stay above a $1 there on after, so in theory that's making jds shares at UK £3.99p as of todays conversion rate.
Interesting.
I sold 1.26 for small profit will buy again if it dips below 1.10 .
See jd red today, bumpy path still
like every one like to see thee them up but plenty of time for them to rise
Mary,
On my charting 118.38p is going to take nxt 4 days trading to hit that, with a good wind in sails.
There's a few million at 118.38 on sell side, 5.7mn shares so that puts pay to 120p imv.
On a side note I've been given one for nxt week of my contacts.
Red Cat Holding (nasdaq-Cat)
Should do well next week, they make milatary drones, just completed field testing of a new tech drone, ukraine and usa milatary involved in this company.
As above the new tech as created better picture tech, very successfully tested on battlefield in Ukraine last week.
USA n Ukraine very impressed.
I've bought a huge punt at 100k shares at 99cents each,
Not financial advice, as given for due diligence wink wink.
@dan
enjoyed your video - well done
Re JD.
Rarely do I exit a stock completely, however the spike seemed too good not to exit and wait for reentry at above 132 & finally @135p +. Started adding sub 116 and 112 , in tranches, and hoping for a repeat recovery.
£m 1Y 3Y charts suggesting a series of higher lows following the sub 111 on 2nd with a breakout above 120p crucial to resume the uptrend.
FY results at the end of May should provide comfort as the growth story resumes.
LWHL - Think your 150p target will come into view once confirmed.
If exploring a US listing once the acquisition is completed then a whole new bull story begins !!!!!
The long and short of it,,,most know the basic principle of shorts/long.point being a company or companies get together, or some one knows say hibbetts being taken over before the announcement, can all help to distort the markets
FF2- thanks for the info as always good to have someone so knowledgeable posting.
My view is to hold until 170s but if we get some big spikes I may try dipping in and out. I have no doubt about this stock, it’s proved itself several times over now and so much better quality than a lot of other uk retailers too. I trust them on the recent aquisition, the bod know what they are doing.
Let’s hope the ratings and shorted don’t hold it down for too long
You are always going to have some shorting ...IMO.... part of life ...you cannot seriously think that the whole market will bet 100% as a share long, with no % hedged bet .... there is always going to be hedged short bets in case events turn turbulent ... there is always risk ...never a 0% risk level...
You need some shorting to help liquidity .... and shorting creates more longs anyway..buying those sold shares
Falconer
I suspect they could borrow Dollars against Hibbett existing cash flow etc and their own strong cash levels and £700m unused RCF
Tav
it is a civil and criminal offence, for insider dealing, will not stop it.unfortunate this happens.this was why I said jd to go below 110,time yet any way
Been adding back sales above 132p - like manna is JD.
