Can’t help feeling that’s the ship has sailed on so many - Ceres MCPHY ( OMG- how much has that gone up in ~ month. 400%!!), ITM looks expensive now, NEL are the steady ship , BALLARD have tripled in a short space of time..PHE ( not as good but up)
Anyone who was in all these 3 months ago should be retiring. For the rest of us.... is it too late???
Actually SatellitePro when you compare the market cap of ITM to Ballard and NEL it does look like ITM is a bit ahead of itself.
What is your thoughts on that ? ITM will certainly need to bring home the bacon in this current financial year and turnover at least £ 25 million with losses capped at £ 12 million to justify the current SP, all possible looking at the last trading update I guess with the secured pipeline of work.
It would also be reassuring to hear some news on securing some of £ 200 million plus of tendering opportunities , until then there is a fair amount of risk around the current SP bearing in mind in the previous year £ 400 million plus of tendering opportunities were declared for which we are seeing just £ 7 million of turnover as per the current trading update. That tender conversion is of concern especially when today I read Belgium based Cummins won a contract to install a 500MW electrolyzer in NSW Australia which is due to be commissioned later this year.
I guess until the new factory is complete ITM don't yet have the manufacturing capacity for projects that needed to complete this year.
Anyway that is a good spread you have there.
Thanks for that SatellitePro, some of them I am already invested in also, some not so will check them out.
One I am in that has seen me alright over a short time is Powerhouse Engineering. Not a major investment but I feel with what it does it solves a major problem and over the next 5 years could have a similar effect on my portfolio as ITM has the last five years.
One thing is for certain is that hydrogen has a good future as a clean fuel source and there are some great companies worth spreading the risk around in.
This is my hydrogen fund https://www.mindmeister.com/1561762284 for those seeking other shares in the sector to invest in. Apologies if the link won't work.
A good rise for McPhy Jules.
I must admit they look a good proposition. Will investigate a little more. Thanks for the heads up.
I am looking to diversify a bit more as the more ITM rise I am beginning to feel I am a bit top heavy in portfolio. I have broken my own rules a little but can't complain where I stand at the moment regarding ITM.
One thing I have discovered yet again on this board as has been the case in the past on other boards it's best to keep it close to your chest regarding your position at any given time.
All I will say is sometimes it's best to review what's going on around you and throw caution to the wind at times. There is a lot of profit currently being held in ITM from both short term and long term investors alike and in still uncertain times it has to be a temptation to take the money and run.
The SP is currently driven on the future and there are a lot of good companies out there doing the same thing which makes you think it's going to be a tough market.
I honestly believe ITM have a great long term future and I feel extremely lucky I stand where I do today with a company yet to turn a profit.
Normally I don't take the gamble I did 5 years ago with companies like ITM as I have been burnt, especially on AIM.
I normally invest part way through when there is some track record to go by, all we have with ITM is the unknown future.
Anyway, that is my synopsis of the current situation and as far as my holding goes as of today I keep well and truly close to my chest after declaring openly my position a month back.
I will continue to post what this board likes to hear and that is the positive outlook for green hydrogen of which there is plenty of news floating about on a regular basis.
Lets hope some of it very soon is generated by ITM which I am sure it will be.
Yes they are small but hoovering up some nice French Hydrogen contracts.
Going to take a look at Mcphy Jules. They seem to be getting some good news coverage of late
Agree Porsche. Up massively and just a bit too scary now!
I wish I had bought at 10euro, its a bit too high, I may have missed the boat
To be fair people don't give a shot, they just want to pump and dump by the looks of it.
SirJD,
What I can tell you regarding AFC and it's product.
The MOD has a major problem in providing electric charging points due to infrastructure problems and they are currently looking to get over the problem across their estate which is massive especially in my area of Salisbury Plain.
The MOD had representation at the AFC Open day before Christmas.
All I can say is watch this space, remember AFC just had no problem in raising funds the other week for very good reason and remember this conversation 6 months down the line ;-)
Personally, I am going to be buying a few more later this week when I have switched things around a little to generate some cash.
Very glad I bought McPhy Energy on 17.06.20 @ 7.25. Still worth a look IMHO
Thanks Psmith for the information. Good long term strategy.
Renewi is one that falls under the radar
AFC energy haven't sold anything or generated revenue since 2017! Absolute zip.
Thank you very much Psmith. I will look into it
Powercell's main shareholder is Bosch BTW
American ones are more interesting, they don't really have one energy system, more multiple smaller ones, the federal state under trump is disorganising, so you probably need to make your bet by the 3rd of November.
It is worth reading up on energy storage in the US as well as energy vectors like hydrogen and nuclear. Large subject and lots of technical stuff.
Like ps the hydrogen investments are long held >10 years+
Out of all funds with infrastructure holdings as motorways and oilpipelines are going to take a hammering.
I see the Energy regulator just told energy suppliers they have 5 years to get their networks sorted. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-53345845
https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2020/jun/18/worlds-biggest-liquid-air-battery-starts-construction-in-uk
everything is moving now and selecting the winners is going to be tricky
I'm just in Ceres and ITM (a lot of money)
but also in Trig and UKW for turbine/solar which I suspect will get stimulus ops during the whole greening movement
I'm in
Ceres
NEL
Powerhouse Energy
AFC
Velocys
Looking at which American ones to go for.
Oves. There are some great free news articles on H2 View, I will drop a link below, but if you are serious in getting a hydrogen portfolio going its well worth the yearly subscription to get the fire walled article's and physical magazine.
Bloomberg Green is also worth signing up to.
My long term Hydrogen portfolio consists of :-
ITM Power
Ballard ( on NASDAQ)
Plug Power ( on NASDAQ )
I have held the above for just over 5 years based on in-depth research back then and SP growth has been incredible.
Recent additions in the last 12 months:-
AFC Energy ( I visited their factory open day just before Christmas, I like what they do and see good growth with this best of both worlds company, they just had a successful over subscribed fund raise )
Ceres ( good tie up with Bosch )
NEL - a Norwegian replica of ITM, well advanced.
Powerhouse - they make hydrogen from landfill waste, two problems solved in one.
Powercell ( Swedish) - well worth a look at
Velocys - well worth a look at.
That is about the extent of my Hydrogen portfolio. DYOR on them. I have been pleased with them all and think they will make the next five years financially life changing
5 years back because of the risk Hydrogen formed a small part of my portfolio, it has now grown to a major part of my portfolio and is less of a risk now than it was back then.

Psmith thanks for the read. I am new to stocks and just need advice on where you get these news from. And also what other stocks do you currently hold?
Can only be good news for ITM Motive that Shell have today signed a 5 year contract with Chesterfield Specialist Cylinders for underground storage of Hydrogen on it's forecourts.
As we know ITM also have a 5 year agreement to put pumps and electrolyzers on the forecourts.
A good read..........
