...undervalued. SP is and has for some time been, lower than 5 years ago! Hard to value ip before it hits stock market but this is ridiculous.
better day today
brutal day!.
IPO’s current NAV is at least £1.7 billion (half year NAV plus cash realisations and increase in fair value of ONT since). At 112p per share the company is worth £1.14 billion. A massive discount to assets.
I note IPO are also invested with RFC Power. Kind regards, SimonV.

BERENBERG RAISES IP GROUP PRICE TARGET TO 170 (151) PENCE - 'BUY'
we should have some movement here after ONT 8% rise Friday
That can't be allowed to continue as it's completely unbalances
the portfolio, they need to trim the holding.
@freshmatt, indeed. I calculate IP group NAV to be £1.7bn/>1.6pps based on ONTs shareprice today! I've started buying IP group again. Good luck to all
IPO’s holding in ONT is now worth over £500 million plus the £84 million cash realised last month. That’s nearly half IPO’s value in one company.
Astonishing that after today’s news, the runaway success of the Oxford Nanopore float, and after the fact that markets generally edged up over that period, the price is down. The company’s in a better position than it has been for some time, and shown good judgement. Patience needed here.
Dan, has the recent SP action surprised you
as IPO has now fallen below the £1.21-1.27 you mentioned.
The share price recent weakness against a very strong wider stock markets.
....and this SP stays down. Seen it all before. Stick around for the firework display. Just not sure when it will happen.
Hi Moorey, see ONT news this morning! IP group NAV is growing nicely, only thing that’s changed is sentiment. I’m expecting/ guessing that once buyback is over IP group will start to communicate what their NAV has grown to and shareprice will be back on its merry way upwards. I bought a load of ONT over last few weeks but still kept my core IPO holding as fundamentals are really excellent IMO
For 8-weeks we've had a continuous slide in the SP, and who knows what the SP would be now if the share buy-back policy wasn't in place? We seem to have moved from a position of optimism.
...to very little movement in SP until co buyback is finished.
after hours today.
The more they buy back the higher the total divs they can pay to us next year.
Sorry. Buyback today,
I expect another buyback RNS tomorrow!
....must be increased and fair chance of a special too. I'm sticking around.
danrh, please be assured that I do have a basic grasp of what ONT can offer. However, in relation to everything else, the revenues generated by Covid must be mega when compared to everything else. That said the sliding sp suggests that the number crunchers have done their stuff and decided not mega enough. When it comes to the valuation of ONT a mathematician has more clout than a biochemist it would seem. Not that I'm trying to knock the share, my beef is about IPO share buyback. That said am certainly not wishing a highly transmissable lethal virus to emerge either, even if it was a boon to the ONT sp.
GLA
Bought more at 1.215. Relatively safe and excellent value.
Analysts target values a fair value between 151 to 162 so yes we are way too under valued. SP creeping up now though lets hope for a blue day !

And yet despite the share buybacks, the SP remains suppressed
