On the occasions I have moved into ISA I am sure I had to sell then buy back into ISA, so doesn’t explain the 6.6m trade today. From where I stand now, I’ll be more than happy to get to a position where I face a CGT conundrum. Bring it on!
You don;t have to sell then buy......although I have done that (bed & ISA)......I've stuffed thousands straight into the ISA, then bought shares with it weeks later.
Yep but normally your broker does it at a very tight spread, hence the almost matching trades we see now and again
You can't transfer in. You have to sell then buy. You take the hit of commissions and spread, twice :-)
This has nothing to do with the annual allowance chaps, its existing funds in an isa I'm talking about, I'll agree to disagree
That's not the way it works. You'd have to sell first in a trading account then buy back via the isa, limit 20k. In any case, why would you this tax years only 4 months in. You still have a cgt allowance
No. They have a limit of 20K....say they buy 19K worth of shares, cash some in and make a profit of 5K, they can still only use up another 1K in their isa allowance of 20K to buy more in that year.
It's got nothing to due with the yearly limit surely?
If someone has £30k cash sitting in a stocks and shares isa they can transfer placing shares in from a trading account
No there is a 20K limit on ISA's for each year and it's too late to transfer into previous years.....so yes they are too high for ISA's.
Nice to see the last couple of days rises have not been clawed back.. bodes well for next week I hope. Only a few weeks till the £1.6mill from europe and the final agreement must be getting close for off take plus the EIA not long till finished- could be a good stream of news soon...AIMO
If you have £30 k in your isa you can transfer £30k of shares into it (I think )
Placing shares cannot be bought directly into an isa is my understanding
the 2 £24k trades are too high for isa as £20k is all your allowed to move into an ISA I believe. Could have been a transfer..
The placing shares were paid for yesterday so these large matching trades will be transfers from trading accounts into isa accounts etc (imo)
Chris
Was that 6.6 million share buy yours?
quite a few trades that look like bed and isas for large amounts over last few days. 2 2.5 mills this morning and 2 x 6.6 mills at lunch. Wonder if they are positioning themselves ahead of news?
looks primed will it push higher.
Setanta, you just have to be in the know., ha ha! The 233k just now was my buy at .43.
Agree with your point on wide spread and deterring markets but somebody clearly prepared to break rank.
....'Application will be made for the Placing Shares to be admitted to trading on AIM and it is expected that their admission to AIM will take place on or around 22 August 2019 '
There is no real attempt being made to make a market here. Quite the reverse. The market is being deterred by the use of occasional 1M and 2M sell trades and by maintaining a wide spread to deter buyers. So the background forces are still at work. Next week may see a change to encourage buyers.
Tango 1 thanks again and I'm happy to let the matter go now. In any event I believe Snowman has covered it very well. Thank you for that Snowman. By the way I think we may see some new old posters here soon. Just a guess but not entirely uninformed!
I have a copy of the letter but would rather let sleeping dogs lie and move on.
Setanta.....'Thanks Tango 1, and do you know what that "slating letter" said,(roughly) ? '
.....Not sure what the letter was, but this is what JW tweeted at the time in early April if that helps a bit.....
'I am reading with disbelief that Nick Emerson has been sharing views on where we are upto in relation to Offtake, Equity and Marine license. Nick has no idea where the company is upto in relation to any of these matters this is clearly a red herring! #INFA
Sounds like he was putting misinformation about in some shape or form....denied at the time by the brokers, who were obviously (reputation and all that) supporting their man. If it was comments made on twitter or the like you can bet they would have been deleted pronto.
Anyway....onwards and upwards from here ! ........we are making headway....negotiations still ongoing .....imagine they are extremely complex.....but there will certainly be a fabulous payoff regarding the SP ..........the offtake is for all 7 caverns by a world renowned operator !!
This makes lovely bedtime reading.......'once converted into a full gas storage agreement in due course, will underpin cumulative Project revenues for the first 12 years of operation of the gas storage facility, expected to be approximately £600 million to £780 million before costs at full operating capacity. Over the 40 year lifetime of the facility operations, cumulative revenues are expected to be between £2 billion and £2.60 billion before costs at full operating capacity.'
Get in !!!!
All the best......GLA !!!!
Thanks Tango 1, and do you know what that "slating letter" said,(roughly) ?
And Mr. T, clearly the MMs have spent today trying to discourage buyers. Last week they were dropping the SP on a handful of small buys but today, despite some decent buys the rise they have permitted has been miniscule !
Totally agree Mr T should may get resistance at 0.6 but there will not be much resistance past 0.06 until 0.09, but an announcement of a positive ilk would IMO fly the SP past those resistance levels, I got a few more today in anticipation.
