Speedy_Gonzalez ref 16.18 post It has to be remembered that as far as IslandMagee is concerned the UK Government is not the decision maker. In respect of IslandMagee the NI Executive is how much influence the UK Government has is debatable.
I'm seeing more articles, all highlighting lack of gas storage. Let's hope this "turns the lights on" in the minds of the UK Gov!

Agree speedy it is speculative just thought it a coincidence that Dorset Spirit was purchased to work alongside Terra Nova
Only other one I could find was Searose FPSO again that works in the same area as DS
It has also docked at Belfast back in 2012 for repairs

https://theconversation.com/gas-price-spike-how-uk-government-failures-made-a-global-crisis-worse-168324
The article clearly outlines the shortcomings of UK gov policy regarding Rough closure and no new storage. Energy security surely must be refocused now that MR Putin is tightening the screws. Let's see how this plays out this winter. What about next winter??
In hindsight, assuming IM was built and functioning, anyone care to speculate what sort of revenue/profits would be generated this winter?
'Preparations have commenced at Belfast within the Building Dock in preparation for the arrival of Dorset Spirit next week. Measuring 280m, we have had to remove the intermediate dock gates to make use of the full drydock.'

Edit: Picture of dock looks enormous.
OT. The article states:
As part of the project, the FPSO will undergo maintenance work at the Bull Arm Fabrication site starting early September prior to sailing to dry dock in Ferrol, Spain, later this year with a return to operations anticipated before the end of 2022.
That does not indicate to me any involvement with HARL. unless Navantia wishes to share the pie? Pity, as I also hoped of potential HARL involvement, when posting about this previously.

very common move from Spreadex ....and they often increase/decrease their holdings ....they buy to make money ..rather than be considered having a Long Term interest in a company...
I imagine they are using the shares bought Long as leverage against the CFD/spreadbet ..so they dont have to pay full for the CFD
Suggests that they see the share price has bottomed out , I imagine
Bubble2021 ref 13.10 post Is anything to be read into 1.48% of the holding is a contract for difference and the remaining 1.9% is in shares?
Spreadex ltd purchase
RNS out, holding in H&W Group, building up nicely imho
Been looking into this again from cenkos
This includes ongoing client discussions around the refurbishment of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit, that includes, inter alia, a refit of the internal accommodation areas, ability to run on greener fuels such as LNG, repairs and renovations of the main decks and providing the necessary infrastructure and capabilities to cater for battery banks in the future (c£20m).

Was due to be worked on at Navantia but COVID stopped it
The project is now restarting

the future looks very rosy as soon as Harl win their first floating platform contract. JW was right to go for the large manufacturering footprint.

I just checked the companies House Website and from this page https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/06409712/filing-history It can be seen the name has been changed at Companies House which makes it official or it will be once the new certifiate is issued.
I have just come across this written question and answer on whether the Prime Contractor has to be a UK company. The link to the word document is the answer to the question in the House of Lords. It does not actually answer Mr Jones' question. I wonder what the government is trying to hide.
Kevan Jones Labour, North Durham
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to the Answer of 7 September 2021 to Question 44204 on Fleet Solid Support Ships: Procurement, whether the prime contractor for the Fleet Solid Support Ship contract must be a UK-based company.
Jeremy Quin The Minister of State, Ministry of Defence
I refer the Rt Hon. Member to the answer given by my noble friend, the Minister of State at the Ministry of Defence (Baroness Goldie), on 13 July 2021 to Question HL1745 in the House of Lords.
HL1745 - Fleet Solid Support Ships Procurement (docx, 54.9KB)
Here is a written question and answer to a question that was originally down for an oral answer yesterday.
Philip Hollobone Conservative, Kettering
What assessment he has made of the potential effect of the creation of the National Shipbuilding Office on (a) the number of ships being built in the UK and (b) the amount of (i) British technology, (ii) components and (iii) steel in those ships.
The National Shipbuilding Office will be responsible for driving forward one of the Prime Minister’s key domestic priorities across Government. It will report directly to the Shipbuilding Tsar and will oversee all of the UK Government’s interests in UK shipbuilding.
Our National Shipbuilding Strategy Refresh, which will be published later this year, will set out our approach in more detail.'
(Citation: HC Deb, 20 September 2021, cW)
It is not clear to me what the function of the National Shipbuilding Office is or if the Defence Secretary knows either.

Bit of a strange one this did it break down at start of journey ?
One of the guys on the towing vessel mentions he only got the call the night before.
Or has it been in dock since the fire and awaiting insurance.

Oldtramp thanks again for info my friend very informative
oldtramp ref 08.46 post That was slightly over six months ago so if the yard that did the repair did not fix the problem it might explain why she is coming all the way over here.

Some dumb individuals in power have made decisions closing gas storage and not giving green light to new storage options. It is time they were named.
Portland was rejected and now IM drags on. Ordinary householders on low incomes will feel the pain .
AUKUS is excellent for UK. expect some naval project from Australia to be done in the UK as well. INFA should benefit from it . bargain hunting tomorrow
