When will UK Gov wake up...........Mr Poots take note!
Taken from this evenings article on the Guardian website:
Britain is one of the most vulnerable countries in Europe to gas-supply disruptions due to its high reliance on gas for heating and power plants. It has also had some of Europe’s most limited gas-storage capabilitiessince the 2017 closure of the Rough gas storage site, previously the country’s biggest, off the east coast .

British manufacturing leaders fear an industrial collapse over the winter as spiralling gas and electricity prices overwhelm the country’s energy defences.
It seems that the international gas shortage couldn't have come at a better time for INFA. I believe that Edwin Poots will approve the project, and any "crowd-funded" legal challenge will be kicked into touch - energy security, the cost of electricity and common sense should now win the day.

This project won’t be approved unless the salt core taken from the exploration well has been carbon dated and proven to Mr Poots be less than 6000 years old (approximately)
oldtramp ref 13.45 post A good find and interesting read. The most interesting thing is as this would be a first in class HARL would be the only people capable in doing the job if anyone else decides they need one.
Let's hope Mr Poots is reading......

"the deck will be strengthened and fitted with a prefabricated mezzanine deck; a heave compensated A-frame with intelligent Launch and Recovery System (eliminating need for ROVs for lowering HydroWing tidal turbines); heave-compensated deck cranes and a subsea crane."
Definitely a step in the right direction for Appledores revival. Let's hope future projects, in JW's famous pipeline, come thick and fast......
