Well that didn't last long! Down 6% in a week! Not a clue why....any ideas?
Market seems to have woken up this morning.....up 27p so far......maybe rerating up to 12.00 + due good results, improved divi , now yielding 3% with expectation of progressive future policy. Don't look to be many obstacles to continued growth Happy
Borrows has just bought 250k shares at c£2m, probably a pretty good positive sign of what he thinks the future holds for 3i plc
Volatile start to the days trading, will settle soon, positive by the end of the day. 10 by next week
Great set of results. Low traded volume, shares have had good run in last month so price move so far could be short term sellers who got in for the ride in last 30 days. Great business
NC Probably a one off posting for me here. This is one of my smaller holdings now. I first bought at 1.88 then sold 50% at 3.20 (why did I do it) then 50% of the remaining at 6.12 leaving me with just 25% of my original amount of shares. So I have banked a good profit and in addition still have shares. I will never sell any of my remaining ones unless of course they get lucky and invest in a future big thing like microsoft/google/apple etc have been.
Looking good for rest of this year at least. Decent momentum in main business and also the Infrastructre fund too, gives some balance to PE side
10 on the horizon
Lets see what this does tomorrow, seems to me good news coming.
Been on a down trend for a while, could it end soon? On a related note, what actually started this trend?
Boy, I'm good! Predicted last October sp would be pushing £9-10 by May and et voila!... now about the next Lottery numbers ......... Good luck all. TC
Canaccord put out a note with 975p TP today Capital Markets day at Action on 30.5.17. which is biggest 3i investment and massive growth driver. As its still a private company can't imagine they would put this on unless it's more good news
Looks good to me. I am in.
...and a stonking Director's purchase. I will have a look at this - looks good.
Strong set of results, confident CEO report, no gearing and increased dividend ......and the shares fall! Never mind, holding for a while yet.
Am running the London marathon on Sunday for the animal hope and wellness foundation that save dogs from being tortured burnt alive boiled alive in the Asian dog meat trade please donate it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED at Neil beedie just giving. Thank you :)
Well it's not the former (see TRP, VOG, HAWK, KDNC (REM) amongst others...) & I hope there's still a bit of life left in the old dog yet. Perhaps it's because I could have sold for c£22 at the height of the dotcom bubble & paid off my mortgage. Nearly 20 years later they're still only 1/3 of that price & I'm still paying the 'king mortgage (embarrassed emoji). Still, we live in hope & I still think this is a very, very good share.
How the hell did I get here ? One minute I was watching a Youtube vid about a cat juggling a grenade, clicked on a lick and...*poof* here I am... hmmm.
Well, now that we've broken out of the resistance around the 6.40 area (one of the stages of the drop in sp back in October 2008), looks like 9.30 is a reasonable target given in Sept 2008 the sp was over £10. A fair wind and continued pressure on the £ could well see the sp £8 by mid-Dec as an interim target, with an inevitable dip ex-divi, followed by a surge towards £9-10 by next May. Irrespective, sp has done pretty well to date: £2 in two months!
Oh, and my prediction from last spring wasn't that far off was it, Familyguy? ; )
Well, a month on and was worth watching! Another good report today but you do wonder about leaks when you see the size and number of the late reported trades from yesterday. Who says insider dealing is dead?! Barclays target is now £6.80 I think. Reckon it could easily go to its pre-2008 levels ie £7.20, given the Brexit exchange rate windfall and 3i's business strategy. Onwards and upwards!
LONDON (Alliance News) - Private equity investor 3i Group PLC said Non-Executive Director Caroline Banszky bought 3,000 shares at a price of 500 pence per share on Thursday. Banszky's total shareholding was undisclosed. 3i Group on Thursday said it has continued to deliver against its strategy of streamlining its portfolio, delivering growth in its net asset value per share in the year to the end of March in addition to a higher dividend payout and higher total return. The stock was up 3.6% at 505.00p, the best performer in the FTSE 100 on Thursday.
Apologies for board hopping but- The petition is going quite well; ~4700 signatures so far. Although it really needs a turbo boost. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/112044/sponsors/frRbCOsOLO6QqIN82UOX This petition was stalled in parliament since 12th Aug 15; finally green lit on 12th feb 2016. The FCA don't even reply on the matter, now is your chance to have your say. If you hate seeing buys reported as sells etc!!!!!! Has already been sent to Martin Lewis, Daily Mail, Moneyweek & Watchdog. My local MP supported this petition by writing to the petitions committee to help un-stall it. There’s 650 MP’s in Westminster, So have you written to your MP? 649 to go! If this petition doesn’t reach 10,000; then imo we might as well have not bothered as it will almost certainly be filed B1N; @ 10,000 the government should respond. We are currently getting approx. 100 new signatures a week, but need 3x that amount to reach the target with only 15 weeks to go. At 5000 I will send this to the PM & the chancellor as well as my MP again. So – If you haven’t yet signed or indeed have but haven’t passed it on to others, then now’s the time to do so. If each person who has signed can get just one other person to sign then we will double the total immediately. I have posted to all aim listed gas n oilies, currently doing the footsy 100. But I can only do so much to push this. Really need you guys & gals to help. Thanks to all who have signed so far. We really need a social / media savvy individual to help generate more interest in this.
Yep,so many different variable's to trade off one and ignore all other just plain daft lol.
Pretty good demonstration of why trading on technicals and completely ignoring fundamental micro and macro outlooks is a flawed methodology.
