Thanks for letting us know Curly - I was hoping to find a source of information that would give me a heads up that change was coming. Good old yanks, take the money for your ESTA but bar entry to the country and allow it continue counting down. Love it.
PS the next EU flash point will be July 1st, when the new VAT rules come into play. I am going to predict that the EU will claim a lot of companies including tour operators are not signed up to pay extra VAT into Europe. This is an important one to watch as it is a good opportunity to try and ground UK aircraft in favour of EU carriers. Don't put it past them!
@Big-blue : I updated my ESTA in February this year. I then got a BA flight to Mexico and spent 14 days there before flying into the USA. I had some business meetings over here plus my fiance is American and lives here, so has been good to spend an extended period with her. I'm due to fly back to the UK later this month.
News on strong bookings will do the trick until the next leak on green list countries in my opinion. BUY any dips...as the analysts say, they might have a point! IMO.
I have RR too. Slowly but getting there. I fear, given the spread, you are some way off cashing in you 215 if there is just a drift to the next review.
Has anybody recently tried to update the ESTA? Is the system allowing Brits to renew or make fresh applications?
"Which countries are included in the Visa Waiver program?
The following countries are currently part of the Visa Waiver program: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Chile, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Holland, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and England."
BUT NOT SCOTLAND OR WALES, ha, serves you right trying to go independent :)
the problem, my friend, is the next review is around the corner and any leaks will come in advance so that does not leave much time for downside..If one misses the spike then it will be too late. This is being bought after any dip. I am waiting for the next spike..Plus I do day trading...I need £2.15 now.we might see after us markets open. My RR big bet is looking goooooodd too.:)))
P.S. we need the pound to lose a bit after the rally today.
Easy J and IAG in perfect sync - unfortunately. It is beginning to feel a little bit like an elastic band being stretched and stretched and stretched. It'll snap at some point, but will it crash or fly? History shows there is a lot of time for 'stuff' to happen between now and the next review.
cw1996, We cannot guarantee the SP but all looking good for up to until July from now, who cares couple of weeks small up and down, but watch the UK travel green list by end of June, surely 80% of EU countries there and US too.
Europe is getting better day by day, Germany breaking 1milion vaccination per day now as well. 90% of Europe countries will be in same position where UK current Covid levels, which is superb for the summer holiday and everything to become normal and US situation is bonus anytime.
I distributed my shares now with IAG, RR and CINE.
Hopefully all of them will do well within next 6-8 weeks.
DYOR, GLA.
Price is going for a triple top attempt at 220p.
IAG : Buy rating from UBS
By June they might just require vaccination certificates as they are planning to do so in Europe. In one European country now you can get a PCR test for free, i know as a friend of mine did it yesterday in order to travel to the uk. Anyway time will tell. For now the share price is holding up well, there must be a reason. We might close green as I said before. Good luck anyhow you play it. DYOR.
The point is government can introduce simpler ways of being processed when coming back from green countries along with vaccination certificates. At the moment it's too restrictive but airlines are pressing government to change soon. You will see, things will change and travel to and from green countries will be easier. All IMO.
I think the reason why we have big queues now is because at LHR they only have T5 and T2 open...once they open up more terminals it will be better. T3 is due to open soon. DYOR.

3 weeks from 17th June is the big date..by then , the share price will have gone up substantially. Sorry to tell you but this is not going to £1.90 for a while...if that's what some are waiting for. All IMHO.
sp movement seems to indicate only a pi response to the green list, no iis making any big movements. That would mean they had already read the bones and the pointed comments over the week before and priced in the limited green list. It also means they are not expecting and extended delay in expanding the green list. It is remarkably static.
Just waiting for the first spurious news story to set off the firework.
yes bog blue the processing will be a factor so will be the extra cost in tests . HM Customs will need more staff and that takes time to train
cost of PCR is one thing, but the border processing on return leg is another issue. Within a week or so of May17th we might start to get the headlines of massive queues in the UK airports. There are horror stories now with very few travellers. This may become a new limiting factor. Whichever way, all these obstacles point towards a very deliberate dragging of the heels, no doubt somebody deploying the idiot nudge theory again to try and control the plebs. Makes me cringe every time it is deployed.
IAG down today as markets was expecting the government to announce more countries on the green list
IAG : Receives a Buy rating from Barclays
We should know the rubbish scaremonger posts in the weekend, lots of non sense post saying SP is dropping to 200p etc... This is always the case in this board in the weekend.
But have to say that this board can't make any changes to the SP, just their moral and enjoying their decisions to in or our only, but no valuable at all. So they need to understand this and learn the reality. I mean to only few not to all of our god friends here.
This share has so much to recovery play still. DYOR.
GLA.
The big critical change will be the removal of the PCR test. I see it as a major block to full open travel, and because of that the big mega gains originally estimated in the sp are being played out as small incremental profits. You'll know when this is going to happen when the manufacturers sp nose dive.
Expect companies coming out with statements on new bookings soon. I, for one, picked up a deal to an amber destination in August knowing that this country will be green by then and I didn't want to pay over the odds. Many others will be doing the same in order to bag a good price before the big rise. Also, there are many people who can still travel to an amber country on holiday as they work from home and can quarantine and some have enough money to pay for a pcr on day 5 to be released. The important thing is the lifting of the travel ban. It's a good start. Let's keep going now. All IMO of course.
..... and the slide on Easy is larger as I guessed because the green list was so small - - cannot understand why the islands in the Atlantic and along the med were not included, not even Malta. I am now more convinced that the list was so small because the border force will not be able to handle the numbers. Certainly the EU commission has put a timetable for opening up the mainland set back into June and UK is certainly following that. Opening up the US is influenced a lot with what the Americans are going to do. And our border facilities don't sound prepared. So scan the news on improvements and extra recruiting at the border to give an indication that at least the holiday islands will be added to the green list for Easy Jet shares. US holiday hot spot press releases for when the US goes green.
Bojo on TV this eve confirming moving towards the next stage of unlocking, this will build momentum. Everyone knows only a matter of time before more countries on green list, hopefully for peak summer with US on there too!! GL All, I'm happy if IAG can stay above 200.
From the point of view of some day trading smash and grab, those couple of weeks are mega on a policy change this big!
I bailed Easy straight away, happy with yet another compounded profit. Question now, how far will IAG slide before strong rumour on US turn it around? When is it likely Spain and Greece will be opened up for another quick smash and grab with Easy Jet whilst waiting for US travel news? Time to get the wall cart out and plan the next move in world domination from the wicker chair - after a bacon butty of course!!
I might sell IAG to buy EZJ!!!
