...........what did I say then? 480p on the cards (was 438.6 at that time). Still heading North, slow and steady. That'll do nicely for me. Well done, HWDN, keep it going!
Good post.
come ! Running a residential development company in the SE I was only there yesterday organising 10 kitchens. Love the company, pass as much business as I can to them, great service and sensible pricing. Same faces there as always, loads of other developers and builders there. More of the same over the next year as people spend money on their houses. The only way is up, bar a terrible election outcome, buyout must be on the cards as this is now a very good cash generating business. I'd take 800p BOD !
Another good set of results from Howdens. This company has a fantastic business model and sees very little impact from outside influences i.e sector peers or media. it can only grow and get better.
Good job. Good results. Good shareholder care. Good future plans.Good investment. GOOD BUY.
I'm quite happy with the steady growth of HWDN. the pace of growth in depots is good and realistic. They can then manage the distribution network growth. I want to see an improved profit that keeps improving each quarter. But the reports I've read sugest that is the way they work. I'm also hoping to read further reductions in the legacy properties. We have been deluged with planning applications round us. There is a definite change in the market but that will take a couple of years to get to HWDN
............Should be stunning, again! Question is, are better-than-expected results priced in? Or should I top up again, pre 26th? I've got a feeling that 480p is now not far off. Never had a moment's worry about HWDN. Great team, well-led, and really good quality, of both products and customer-service. Come on HWDN!!!!!!!!
To heavy now will lash this on at 430
I pop by my local one fairly often in the mornings to evaluate business, you can see if targets are being hit. Also the free coffee and doughnuts (which is the main attraction) of going. Burp !
Visited my local depot again yesterday. VERY buzzy, lot of trade customers buying.Final results next month plus better dividend? new business announcements? should push the share price to new justified levels. BUY for the gain.
god only knows how you can downgrade. Market only really starting to recover across the UK and Euro, more people will be spending their money on their houses, and kitchens are normally first. 10's of thousands of new homes will be built over this year and next (beyond that?) and all need kitchens and doors which HWDN supply, can only see this going up within the next 12-18months beyond that can't call today. lookign forward to full figures. 500p soon.
How can anyone downgrade this share I bought them at 70p and they have been rising ever since this is one hell of a company .
Recd by Midas share tips over weekend.
Still got a way to go in my opinion. Record year in trading but more importantly to me, strong growth forecast for business e.g. France and more UK depots. High chance to be tipped in NewYear national press. BUY
Sales hit £! billion.
Local depot packed. I think year end results will be best ever. Next year more depots AND FRANCE? BUY BUY BUY
And the queues are out of the door! A strong finish to the trading year is there for all to see. Just go and peep round the door at your local branch. Solid company, motivated staff and exec team worth all their success. Don't miss out on the final divi in 2015! No to mention the SP, which should go marching on IMO. Good on ya, Howdens! Good luck to all investors here.
Home improvement lifts Howden and Marshalls: The U.K. housing market may be cooling but the home renovation sector which typically lags house transactions by a few months is still booming. Howden Joinery, the kitchen specialist, and Marshalls, the paving group, both said they now expect to beat profit forecasts for the full year after strong half sales. Howden Joinery said that its kitchen and joinery depots increased revenue by 16.2% in the second half of the year to November 1. The group said it had opened four new depots, resulting in 21 new depots in the U.K. so far this year and bringing the total to 580. Howden is targeting 30 new depots for the full year. Marshalls, a company that specialises in paving for homes and public sector works, said that if current trading continues it will also beat market expectations. The paving company generates about two thirds of its sales from the public sector and a third from home refurbishment. Public sector orders jumped 21% during the first 10 months on the back of strong orders from rail projects and homebuilding. The strong trading led broker Panmure Gordon to upgrade full year pretax profits forecasts by 6% to £22.3 million, giving 9.3p in earnings per share. Howden is trading well but the shares, on 17.5 times forecast earnings, look to have much of the growth in the price for now. Likewise, Marshalls shares, on 22 times forecast earnings, are also pricing in an optimistic view of future sales. As such, both shares remain a hold for now. Howden Joinery at 371p+28.1p Questor Says ‘Hold’.
Wow! Yesterday's RNS points towards another stunning finish to the year. Period 11 sales are so crucial to this company, and customers are queuing out of the door. You cannot fault the customer-care approach Howdens have instilled in their branch teams. Plus they are as good as their word with availability of stock for their customers. We are also seeing a careful approach to extending their product lines. Granite work-tops: try it and see, don't do a Tesco and go all-out & regret it. Between Matthew Ingle and Mark Robson, we've got strong hands guiding this ship. Now we will see a consolidation of HWDN as a £1 billion-plus player. No downsides that I can see. This share has a long way to run, and is one of the most dependable I've ever invested in. Well done Howdens, keep it going!
.....expected today. Howdens continue to grow and impress. One for the LT portfolio
Was long from 55 😊
Buy me a jet
Went into my local branch yesterday. Still the same cheery crowd (and I'm just talking about the staff!), and plenty of happy-sounding customers. This is simply one of the best shares in my portfolio, and the recent easing of price means I'll cash in elsewhere and buy some more today. Don't forget the recent talk of special dividend, either. One way or another, I reckon Matthew Ingle will want everything to be on a very positive note before he contemplates handing over the reins. Buy, folks, you won't regret the investment.
