There is a definite pattern here , moves upwards towards the end of the week then downwards on Friday .
Looking at the trading statement on 9th December
“ Guidance on gross margin is unchanged and the continued recent strong trading performance means that the Company now expects FY2020 profit before tax to be around 10% above the top end of current analyst forecasts*.”
I could see this running on to low £7’s but not sure if it has the momentum to push past that level. However, there’s lots of new products coming next year with ambitions to grow the branch network and upgrade existing stores.
The market loves Howdens and the profits it generates. Financial year ends 31st December and next trading update will no doubt boost the price.
Will there be a downtown post COVID when other big ticket items like foreign travel are available again had to be a consideration
Does anyone have any opinions about the future potential sp of hwdn? I bought it for a quick profit post covid but tempted to hang on.... from around August 19 it started its rise up past the £7 mark then covid hit. Don't think will be too long before it's back at £7 - £7.30. But will it stop there? Could it just keep on climbing???
They make from kitchens, joinery , doors , skirting ,flooring , granite ,quartz worktops , anything you need to start tour house to finish . So keep holding it . Very strong year ahead even better then this year . Number one kitchen supplier in the country .
But where do they make their money? Kitchens
'my argument is that this is a kitchen manuf. and retailer.'
primarily yes but have you seen a howdens trade catalogue recently, flooring, doors, wardrobes, stairs ,tools and parts. its a joiners heaven.
Lets see what happens. Todays announcement was in my view below expectations, with deferred sales from Q2 involved. Tomp Accies, my argument is that this is a kitchen manuf. and retailer. Your arguments do not support this. If its becoming something else then I get it, but it appears Wren are giving Howdens a hard time and there is no response.
the only way is up for this company, great product, great prices and great customer service, with the new layout set to streamline availability they will continue to excel in their field
Not really sure what you're getting at.
Howden look to be bringing in folk from outside the business with a fresh approach which must be positive. A quick look at the internet will tell you that they're firmly embracing social media, Pintrest etc - again, a positive move.
yeas, covid will have an impact on this year's trading but I reckon they're well placed to continue to grow both UK and France
Interesting for a kitchen company I cannot find sales in screwfix or e commerce?
I'd look at it from a "glass half full" point of view. The old guard and their ideas are being moved on now and a different focus is being promoted.
Look at some of the new faces coming in from Screwfix. E-commerce will be the growth area for Howden in the next few years
Todays announcement does not look good. CEO and CFO who grew the company both now gone.
Should be good/best ever, but can they keep it up? I see a big downside next year. Competition and a lack of direction
You think this will go lower? Big sells late on....I wonder if whoever sold has done?
WOW poor on every level, trading, product development, 'bring out the dead!'. New CEO needs to do more or go
....and bring her into the wind Mr. Mate .
Slight dip earlier this week , sellers taking a bit of profit , up to them if correct .
Easing up again for the weekend . Upgrade from a broker too to £6+ .
Listed as a private company run by a billionaire this company's attitude towards its workforce takes some believing .
It could benefit Howdens as they seem to take better care of its employees .
IMHO .
I will answer your question 3300 ; I am not a builder just a shareholder .
Can you answer my question ? . Are you connected to Wren Kitchens at all ? .
This is the second time you have used 'HaHa' recently .
Forget about the Germans , they will look after themselves . Not our friends let alone allies .
I was stationed in Germany from 1971 - 1973 and thoroughly enjoyed it ; No. 1 son born there .
Shoot , should have have gone for this earlier . All buddy experts after the event .
This fall today could be sellers realising that the dividend has been cancelled .
Best about and when this virus settles down they will soar !
Databank , Inside the City .
Positive article and information concerning this well run company .
Been happily holding these shares for close to 4 years now (good thing as our oil shares are not so good ) .
Emma Dunkley says 'Buy' and I would concur that .
DYOR of course .
Getting close to a 52 week again .
Not sure higher prices will achieve bigger market share .
Looking good for dividend this coming Friday . Will it be in line with previous years ?
Should have consolidated my other holdings into this excellent company a while ago .
As share buy back continues I would expect to see this drop below 600m shares soon.
