This is the second episode of the documentary from Villa Vie Residences documenting the work on the Odyssey. Rather confusingly it concentrates on the Chief Engineer as they move from Scotland to Belfast. The first episode covered the arrival at drydock in Belfast. At 12.05 you hear the Chief Engineer explain one of the things that will need to be done in drydock.

Not that professional at all sadly !!
If you refer to the latest YouTube offering Dawski, I'm quite amazed. The biggest achievement to date seems to be moving it from Scotland to Ireland. A bit of a huge leap to be sailing the 7 seas shortly. Like others here , I am clueless as to Harls involvement with this project.
I think prior to its departure that H&W need to give quite detailed inf as to exactly what fell within its remit. The chief engineer & crew appear to be heavily involved . Perhaps normal, don't know , the timelines appear ambitious to me , but what I know about it could be written on a postcard. Not inspired 😕
Kaeren, I am glad that you share my thoughts and concerns precisely ..The owners of Villa Vie “ do have history” and it will for others to look that up but JW assured me some time ago that they are now well funded in $$$’s and they seem a reasonable lot to do business with .He did indicate that there would be a prepayment required before docking in and also before release from dock. As you rightly say, Kaeren, us shareholders have no real idea or information as to the proportion of our work here nor on the Margarita /Mas Islander, nor to a lesser extent on the SeaRose though I am not that bothered about that one …for now !! X
Any of the videos from Vila Vie about the Odyssey take some sitting through, tbh. The inital webinar was just excruciating and some of the walkthrough videos out there are not much better. The whole opperation seems a tad amateurish, imo. In marked contrast to the MAS Islanders opperation. Excuse jumping ship, so to speak. :) But the Islander is still showing as due out this evening. Some pics posted by the flooring guys on LinkedIn who said all but done with their bit.

There is a link from the head honcho Francisco Porras with a nice comment about the The Yard.
"From beginning to the end. Always a pleasure to learn from the best in the marine industry. Harland & Wolff + Terramare."

My comments were about the Odessy , I am not concerned about the other two vessels.
My concerns relate purely to inf in the public domain that make it clear exactly what our involvement has been. If cosmetic than before it departs that needs to clearly stated. It isn't the money earned from this contract that is my primary concern. Others can watch and arrive at their own conclusions. Nor is it the companies history. I don't want to see any headlines stating the Oddesy which has was drydocked at H&W has just encountered issues with X Y and Z. When infact we had zero involvement in X Y or Z.
Purely a gut feel , based on what I've seen , which is I suspect an attempt at some form of marketing.
Belfast Harbour website is showing Odyssey as deoarting at 21.30 tonight. Interestingly there have been suggestions that she is not due to depart from dry dock until 30 May. When I did a 60 day query of expected traffic no return date was showing for her. There are two possibilities either she is out for sea trials and the harbour master has not been informed of the return date or HARL has completed the work early. Not sure which so take your pick.
Sorry, K, I didn't mean to be dismissive of your concerns by changing the subject. At the time of posting I hadn't actually watched the video and as you can see I posted at he exact same time as Dawski, so didn't see his post until now, having just watched it. This one wasn't quite so bad compared to some I've watched and kind of felt sorry for the guy by the end. Seems him and his team have been up against it. Anyway, I wasn't aware of previous issues or Vila Vie's history, Dawski, but just seeing them through these latest videos I'm not surprised. As I said, amateurish, at best. For the life of me I'm not sure why they even put these things out as it doesn't show them in a very good light.
I beleive is the term much used in the business is, No cash, no splash. :)
PS. Good to see Hulk Hogan has found work after the wrestling. Not sure what official position he commands, but he does seem to be the head of the table in the libary meetings. ;)
My post wasn't directed at you Si-D.
Well, you can have the appology for another time, just in case. :)
Stokey, it's the Islander that is down for departure this evening. And by the looks of things it's been brought forward to 7:00pm. Can only see the Odyssey down as it's former namw, the Braemar.
(28/04/24 09:43.....30/05/24 12:00... BRAEMAR... BDD)
Think I may have worked out their abbreviations at last. PLN=Planned, CNF= Confirmed, SCH=Scheduled. There's probably akey somewhere i've not noticed.
It's got a destination down as Gibraltar on the 23rd.
