Thank you Karen for posting that extremely useful piece of Business information on this " backwater message board ". Strange how Mr Derman seems to spend so much of his time posting on something he puts little value in. What a strange person.
Not taken as a poke. And glad i'm not alone in my evaluation :) But, fwiw, I am actually out in the "shed" pottering about, sorting the workshop for the next few projects coming up. Interspersed with a bit of gardening , tending the bees and mostly getting sidetracked and daydreaming. All the good stuff I've missed working away for so long. And, I get to watch the markets and interact with such nice people, and now Ms. Calls as well. Who could ask for more. :)
Twas not a poke, was just agreeing with your tingly sense. ;)
Yo, dog. Maybe read the FT for such insight. That's where most people would go to get the low down on current business news not some backwater message board. Maybe read an RNS or two if you want something company specific or more detailed whilst you decide.
Already in there, K. :) Laptop and old monitor set up and pottering away.
LOL , I think he wants you to stay in your lane SI-D
Perhaps the potting shed.
Wow, . I havent decided whether to buy yet or not. I was hoping to gain some insight from business related posts, not the hogwash that i have just read. I can only imagine how pompous you must be to think that ,with all that is going on in the world at the moment, people would be concerned about being filtered by Mr Derman.
Obviously people can post what they want. But, like other often touted "taboo subjects", it's a zero sum game than can never be won, afaic. One would hope on a share discussion board it could it could stick to being loosely based around the company and related sector news. Obvs. going to be some OT stuff and a bit of banter. But when it comes to having to read peoples views of political parites and their various members it's a really, REALLY, big turn off, for me. Persistence will just get them added to the filter list. If they make it that far then it usually means I'm quite happy to miss out on their views when they might have something more relevant to say.
Xenor correct it’s the med/long term view I look at not trading a share , everybody to their own I guess
I'm watching AimMaster. More interested in where the share price will be after finance than tomorrow. Bit of a gamble selling in the hope you can get back in cheaper prior to news, but you do you and I'll stick with my strategy. Ultimately doesn't matter who is right in the end, we're all here to make money and have different strategies to get there.
As for the political debate - both major parties are as bad as each other. I see no difference. Guarantee Labour will have as many scandals as the Tories when they get in, there's people who spend their lives digging up dirt on politicians ready to reveal at the most optimal time.
Si - sorry and agree, most vets fitted with an auto react gene…. But will cease
Yep. Truss knocked about £12k off my pensions in one swift move, the mad so and so. A sensible Labour government committed to growth to spread wealth, what's the problem? I will take it over a bunch of corrupt and ridiculous old boys network (and that includes women too- no names mentioned Baroness Mone).
I'm entirely unsurprised to see Labour bigging up British industry. As they should be.
Looking forward to seeing IM in those court proceedings. GLA.
Xenor, hope ur watching the double top u laughed about yesterday 🫡 imho
Other people wishing they didn't have to read political BS from ANY side of the house. Not here, at least.
Keep it to yourselves. If you don't mind. TIA
People wishing for a Labour government, never thought I’d see the day but such are the times we live in
Yep. I think we'll see much more focused and decisive business investment decisions from this Labour government. The Tories have been nothing but a dodgy old panto. Reeves is ex BoE and she wants to kick start business investment. She knows what she's doing. Sunak worked for a hedge fund. And like they're always on the side of the little guy?
Only way is up. Sooner there's an election the better for everyone.
Good to see the new government is on side.
21st century shipbuilding company, says it all imho
The futures bright for harl👍
