I think LSE listing rules state if a party acquires more than 30% of shares they trigger a take over warning. I know Abramovich sold down some Evraz shares to keep himself under the 30% threshold (a long time before the war). Who's accumulating share in volume? Everyone here seems more worried some hedge fund opened up a small short position lol
Typo in the 1st line.....
"can tend to happen"
Inv....
Hostile takeovers, even on the QT, tend not to happen.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/h/hostiletakeover.asp
To deter the unwanted takeover, the target company's management may have pre-emptive defences in place, or it may employ reactive defences to fight back.
Generally, the hostile takeover signifies the target is significantly undervalued, in most cases, such an approach impacts shares in the target Company by increasing share price.
You need to ask Perella Weinberg maybe? (As Roy Keane would say, that's their job)
Question: if an entity is quietly accumulating our shares, having bought out 51% via proxy agents etc., could they then force through a takeover at substantially under market value.
Could the BoD block such a sell out on behalf of the minority shareholders ?
Hopefully they don't have anyone on the inside and want to lose a lot of money.
I am a bit lost with short positions right now. Few jumped in and out recently, but only one on the profit side increase holdings. Is it because they can risk a bit more than the others? Or we shareholders can't see what is going on with it?
Well at least they are still talking and discussing the issues. Wonder if the pressure from John Kerry has anything to do with it. No USA dollars if they cant reach agreement to export crude would be my bet.
Wonder how much it would cost for the IOC's to build their own damn pipeline 0_o
Yet another chapter of interminable meetings - called by ICG Oil Minister Hayyan this time…..
The skies over Baghdad will be black with private jets inbound from Erbil, and roads will be blocked with truckloads of (approved) biscuits.
What an ongoing pantomime of incompetence and self enriching point scoring at the expense of us little IOCs and the peoples of Iraq.
Good day to all long termers. Hope all is well.
Cheers

Howdoo Victor n Jens...one day rodders...
Hope all are well? Incredible that it's been, near as dammit, 15 years...so much and so little has happened and changed!!
Lol !
Good morning Victor, lovely to hear from you and all is well, thank you.
Ahh one of the private member clubs... key's in the pot?
Just to be clear, the oil and gas bill has been in discussion for more than a decade. What important for #GKP is the amendments to the budget to increase production and transportation costs in Kurdistan. DYOR.
Good to have some fresh blood in the game.
Welcome David85….. hope you know what you have got yourself (and presumably your money) into !
The overpaid and underperforming Iraqi oil minister, is again trying to link other items into the oil and gas issue that were never there at the beginning. Nothing to do with the oil companies or crude losses to Baghdad, just trying to extort more control.
Any excuse to cause more delay and they will jump on it like a shot or otherwise just make something up..

Morning Jens - hope you are well ?
David85 is very special - and VERY new to GKP - been a member for a whole 24 hours or so....... since yesterday !
Maybe he was a private member before that ? ;-)
It's not on AIM, you're very special.
Thanks for the reply Belgrano.
AIM is full of corruption, always at the expense of the retail investor, who actually keep the BOD of these companies in their position.
Once I can exit, Going full into Crypto. F*** AIM!
Charge Baghdad to go after their rich cohorts in Erbil to recover our missing payments….. and meanwhile stump up as per our contracts.
I have no shame in receiving a long overdue cut of our cash - which is stagnating at bank.
On the question of dividends and company buybacks I believe the company are completely on board with it. However at the current time as a group they are in effect at loggerheads with Baghdad over their attempts to cheat the Kurdish oilers from their contractual payments.
If the oilers are claiming they req XXX dollars to remove crude, the current time might not seem appropriate to distribute millions of dollars to shareholders.
Just being a bit sensible that's all.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Are dividends supposed to be getting paid to shareholders?
As I havnt had any for years, I recall getting them 3 years or so ago.
"This company is pure Gold. Unfortunately it is ripping off the people of Iraq. They have paid out more in dividends to share holders than the current value and that does not include payments to the government."
They've just been paying out the money pre 2016 stakeholders put in...
