Sorry 0.3 percent per annum! Paid every month
Deecay, do you have predictive text or tired eyes? Hawkspear, not head. LOL
Errors. Could have sold PANR at 1pound 80. Dropped all the way down to about 12p Finally on its way back. VOG another disaster. I am an oil guy but since retiring have looked at Paddy and Magic for inspiration recently and understanding geology in a different way. Had plenty of time to study in lockdown in Marmaris and persisted in the belief that this is scary stuff. Scally next in about 2 weeks. Problem I have now is paying the 0.3 percent service charge on my Sipp every month in UK

I have lost circa £40k on VAL. Was half of my lump sum pension that I took on early retirement. Feel for you.
GGP have more than made up for it - hope it all comes good for you.
Of course, Hawkshead, the problem was the CEO and the COO were a couple and clearly used the company to finance their lifestyle. Things appear to be looking up now.
I suppose the worst error made by me was to trust what CEO and Financial director was saying about a company called Valirax. They claimed that they were not far away from cures for different types of cancer. Having lost my wife to cancer a few years earlier I thought it would be a good thing to do to invest most of my private pension into this company. At one point I was 96% down, it has improved since they got rid of the old management and they are hopeful of a treatment for covid 19, so they may come good. Knowing what I know now it should have come here, but heyho.
Soooo many errors! The top two were:
1) I originally had 600,000 GGP shares (ish), which I bought around 1.9p just before Newmont walked. When they crashed, it was hard (it was a lot of money for me. I can't even remember why I risked it). When it recovered (slightly) I sold 200,000 shares (still at a loss) at 0.9p and then 1.6p to try and minimise the losses, thinking it would go back down again. If I'd held on to them, I'd be about £50,000 better off today.
2) Just before the Newmont crash, I had a lot of savings into Collateral P2P, intending to use it towards a wedding/house deposit. The entire platform collapsed a month after Newmont walked. Bad times! Administration is ongoing - looking doubtful I'll ever see any of that money again.
There are others but those two cost me the most. The only three shares I've ever made a profit on are ARM (years ago), Unilever, and this.
I am EXTREMELY grateful to GGP, which has now covered all my previous losses. I have definitely been luckier than I deserve and probably won't trade much after this. I'd never have held on so long without the knowledgeable posters on this board. I must have learned something though because I didn't sell today!
Alvor is lovely Manfromuruguay. But having first gone there 40 years ago I couldn’t.believe how that sleepy little fishing village had changed when I went back a couple of years ago

It was Oxus Gold, you are right about safe jurisdiction it’s a major factor here. No chance here of what happened to that company.
Was originally a GGP holder 10 years ago, tipped on Red Rock Resources board (don't ask! Lol). From memory bought around 4p and sold for the same after getting bored. Bought in again from 1.5p last year.
What a ride it has been. Sold half here around 13p. Put this into EUA so was OK.. Fully back in over last week or two, adding on todays dip as fundamentals here too good imo. GLA.
kazakmuys (sic)? Was that the share you mean ?
A safe jurisdiction is worth a lot and we have it here
Well said TMT
I for one do not have skills or experience about mining /geology/trading/mm's etc (my skills lie elsewhere) but I have gained an awful lot of knowledge on this journey because of the fantastic contributions by other posters old and new including yourself. I consider myself to be a long term holder not necessarily because of the length of time I have already held, but because of the length of time I will continue to hold.( been in pre Newmont and I calculated my ave @ 4.85 ....wrong... was 2.80(forgot to add my orig holding) I have neither bought or sold any more shares since March but I have had many of shudda wudda cudda moments, since then. At the end of the day we are still at the beginning of this journey. People need to look at the bigger picture. The big money is only just starting to arrive, so for newbies, this is still a great time to invest. We have so much to look forward to that even if people sold out over the last couple of days, they still have a very good chance of recouping any losses as things are only going to get better in the long run .Just keep sitting on those hands

I bet you were sweating today GoldenI !

Not sold the 150k yet that I need to - not sure if that was an error, time will tell
I came here via a mention of it by Bamps in the Taylor Wimpey thread. I stuck £500 in at 1.5p if I remember correctly and then kept adding via the sales of the other shares in my portfolio (that were going in an opposite direction). What a journey so far! All my errors were in chasing some rather silly oil shares I new very little about.
It's hard though Mellchitt. So many AIM shares you have to avoid being greedy and take the scraps when they arrive. GGP is so amazingly different!
I sold £600 worth, I bought at 0.5p for 0.7p ??
Talking of errors prompts me to ask a question. I have struggled to remember how I came to have an interest in GGP. The only thing I can think of was it may be from a massive error I made investing in a mining company some time ago whose ticker had X and S in it ( not Sirius) It may be that someone else involved with that company mentioned GGP if so I owe you and am very glad I made that error in the past as it lead me to where I am now. Was anyone else here involved in a mining company which had interests in Uzbekistan and prior to that Kazakhstan and one year spoilt Christmas? I am embarrassed to say their name!!
Redirons. I never even considered that advantage with the puny amount I had left pre-GGP but I am now aware of it!
Residency first and then tax residency. You can then apply for a ten year non-habitual residency status and pay 10% tax on the pension (no longer zero from April this year) which is quite attractive I must say!
No - bought at 0.30p and sold in stages up to (from memory 2.25p). I think it peaked at 2.40p before crashing to something like 0.60p. That was all good. Felt smug. But didn't spot the "new" potential until January. I'd have loved to have joined in on this journey earlier, when the SP was at 1.50p. But was good to get in at 2.50p or thereabouts. I sold some really good stock to do that - MTR, HZM. Both more than bagged. I missed out on those, but got a better return here; and by slicing a little here I've been able to buy back into them afresh - they're both great long-term buys, I think.
The crash I meant was the global one in march. I didn't buy anything as I listened to everyone saying it was going to be like great depression and markets go down another large chunk. My mistake. I've topped up since then though getting them at 3p would have been nice!
Hey Mush - just dawned on me - are you moving to Portugal to access your SIPP tax free?
Re errors
I first bought at 0.3 sold at a penny
Ouch!
Nice to see these error posts guys. Reading them all!
It's like an alcoholics anonymous meeting: "My name is mushroomkid and I have made loads of share-buying errors".
(MFU...undoubtedly I will post on here when we finally arrive in Portugal. It seems we have been hanging around forever. Alvor eh?)
