Maybe, but I don't agree as If they were buying back at these levels it wouldn't keep dropping.

If they smell blood, they'll be buying back lower than this. I guess we'll see if the short closes, which I suspect it wont yet.
End of tax yr people cutting loses. this is no short activity because these are the levels they would be buying back at.
Shorts will always make hay where there is uncertainty and both Newcrest and now Newmont have created a lot of uncertainty over the past year.
Shaun with his special relationship with Newmont needs to get this moving otherwise this will continue to drift lower.
I'm sure there will be better of buyers following the new ISA funds starting next week but that may only be a short relief if no news is forthcoming IMHO.

There is uncertainty about our future; will we stay as 30% owners of Havieron only? Will we stay as 30% owners of Havieron and buy Telfer? Will we own 100% of Havieron only? Will we keep 30% of Havieron and buy Telfer? Will we own 100% of Havieron and buy Telfer? Will we sell our 30% of Havieron? Once that is answered, and we have a clear pathway to production (or not), we will see ourselves correct accordingly. Sadly for us, this a very easy short play/sell & buy lower play at the moment for those who wish to get involved.
A point from a interested investor in the company , if we have so much unmined reserves at a potential value , example last year gold was 1800/1900 and today it is over 2500 , 20% increase why does our share value not reflect this , or do I miss the bigger picture , are we being taken for a ride by those in the know , keep the great unwashed in the dark and they can continue to live the good life , as always , have A GOOD day
A while to go for HUI to catch up. Wall Street isn’t interested yet.
You looking at the futures market prices? Spot price high is $2287 here https://goldprice.org/spot-gold.html
Now $2300 and increasing, next stop $2500 and after $2700 wish we were in production or closer than we are now. DM
Up to a high of $2289 already today, currently $2285....
Capital raise on the way? Something afoot as the whole sector is flying. Either way best not catch a falling knife….. ask Bamps
New intraday record gold price @ $2267...
The SP is irrelevant unless you are selling .The price of gold is going up but (as I think Jerry said) we dont want it to take off yet while deals are to be done in terms of our possibly buying the other 70% of Hav - You dont h ave a board of this calibre(they wouldnt be involved if they thought this was a bad investment) if they personally didnt see a very lucrative future for GGP . The gold (a massive amount is there ) and will be mined but mining is never straight forward and takes time ATB Jonno
3 years and still no concrete news newmont dumped us again, asx up in the air no reassuring official news from SD someone needs to get a grip and sort things out before we're skint.
Agreed TT.Doesn’t matter if I’m invested in a gold miner, a gold explorer, gold mine developer or the Golden Dragon takeaway in the village I’d rather the gold price was doing well than the opposite.
As Shaun said, don't be sitting refreshing the RNS page at 07:00. These things take a while.
Make hay while the sun shines.
@ Vitautas, "So what. Greatland has no gold to sell."
Yeah, right! And BP has no oil to sell!
That’s my plan, get atleast one more load up when I can, and then hold. Once the deal is sorted, I’ve no doubt this will fly.
Only my opinion, but I see us going under 6p and maybe some more. This is prime opportunity for anyone short and anyone looking to load up at lower levels. Sadly, we can't have our cake and eat it therefore have to just deal with the SP action.
As we’ve been saying, likely SP will drift until clarity around GGPs future is announced.
So what. Greatland has no gold to sell.
This is brutal. Mainly because I’ve no funds to top up at the minute. But seeing the share price drift is becoming Groundhog Day.
I think circumstances indicate you must be right on that. Save the ‘delay’ I don’t think it’s in the acquifer, though it is pushing back development costs, with many on here believing Ggp will possibly pick up 100% and carry that and debt into FCF, whenever that is. I think that’s is quite a challenge, though not impossible, alongside exploration activities. Perhaps there’ll be partner(s) and not a sea change as some hope for.
It’s Newmont and the ‘opportunity’ effect, with benefit some way off when accretion comes into play.
The facts ( ref 42% ) do tell a story regarding this company , as always have A GOOD day
GGP down 42% since its Dec 2023 high.
We're totally detached from other explorers/miners at the moment; the POG is completely irrelevant to us at this moment in time - we might aswell be mining Cadbury's cream eggs. Get the small issue of asset ownership out of the way and we'll correct accordingly.
