Hi sandgrounded,
Greatland Gold has in fact transparently taken consideration that there might, or might appear to be circumstances where the Wyloo connection to some directors could be seen to possibly affect their judgement and commented accordingly in Corporate governance under Independence of directors section page 30.
https://greatlandgold.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Greatland-2023-Annual-Report.pdf
Therefore I would conclude that should there ever be an offer by Wyloo to purchase Greatland Gold the board would have to be extremely confident they could justify and defend recommending the offer or any other action and not have a conflict of interest.
Wild claims, sandgrounded. Not on board with any of that.
I just hope the likes of Wyloo are not sh***ing on us, aided and abetted by the board.
They could be shorting the price and hoping the dewatering issue adds uncertainty for private investors to sell.
Another sxx could be in the making, with the BOD guaranteed places on takeover perhaps?
Excellent post Chuff.
Hi Speedie, I’m with you. We know why we are waiting and why it will be worth it. I’m sitting tight and even bought a few more today.
There are shorters who will take advantage of the time it takes to organise tie up a mega deal such as this. There are folks who want to buy as cheaply as possible. We have been here long enough to have confidence in our BOD and the amazing discovery that is Havieron. We already own 30% and my guess is 100% before too long. Also excited by Scallywag exploration as so close to Hav and Telfer with pathfinders already present. Then Ernest Giles, which for many folks was the original reason for being here, though a way off yet.
None of us like the pain of waiting and watching the SP drift , but we are so close now. I can smell the gold! Hold tight and GLA.
Hi Southerncomfort. Your assumption that "hard core loyalists" are concerned is, for me, wrong. The SP has no bearing on value and the BODs are far too busy at the moment to pander to fickle, get rich quick punters who should not be invested in exploring Cos. If you have done your research and know "the game" then sleeping at night is no problem. ATB Speedy
"I suspect its dropping mostly because quitley people are phucked off with SD & GGP not saying anything"
I think you have hit the nail there, it's understandable that many are very pizzed off.
SD has known that Palmer would divest Hav and Telfer for much longer than any of you think.
The lack of any update and no apparent progress on the water problem is testing the majority.
A hand full of hard core loyalists that post here regularly are I guess also very concerned but won't admit it. These are very testing times, 38p to under 6p is stomach churning, yet there appears to be no news from this alleged rock star BOD to steady the company value.
I guess this is the phase of retail investors falling like flies and the big money moving in, being assisted by this series of delays, lack of clarity and for me, a feeling the BOD are happy for this to continue for some time yet.
We have to be realistic about news. We are only 6 weeks on from the announcement that Newmont were divesting, starting with their North American projects. We were looking at roughly 6 months potentially for our deal to be done and dusted, although for many reasons previously discussed, I think it could be sooner as that would benefit both parties. I have always felt that news on the dewatering might not overly benefit the sensitivities of brokering the deal. It is painful at the moment, but would it not be better to get the deal over the line (especially if we get 100% ownership), and then say "by the way the decline resumes next week"? Then we move on to FS/DTM/ASX and every other driver that is going to put a rocket under this. As poor as the SP is currently, ambiguous news is often worse than no news. I am realistic enough to appreciate however that word gets out as major decisions approach and like it or not PI's are normally the last to be switched on to sudden price movement. We choose our own path. I will be selling some other stock to buy a bit more today. It is a high risk game but my money and my choice. All I expect is for SD to honour his commitment to PI's long term. All that has happened for me is that my timescales have got longer. It's a bit if a ball ache to be fair, but that is all down to the recent history of the JV with Newcrest and then Newmont. GLA
Started to build in here. Rock bottom price imo GL all.
Where are you Freddie?
Yes fm just popped in , off again now
For me the big unknowns are progress with dewatering , [are we emptying lake victoria or something smaller] and what will happen to the 70%. I think we are due some sort of opinion on how much progress has been made on the former.
Still on holiday Freddie!!!
Ha ha speedy i think he meant peanuts or potatoes lol
Hi Vitautus. You have obviously never picked a strawberry. ATB Speedy
Shovel bucket and snorkel surely lol , got to be an rns soon , it could go big either way
"@ Vitautas, "So what. Greatland has no gold to sell."
Yeah, right! And BP has no oil to sell!"
You can already buy gold from GGP? How does that work? "Pick your own" like the strawberry farm in my vicinity? You bring your shovel and bucket and dig out what you want and pay per kg?
'Don't forget the recent volumes.' was what he said...
I mean, if one can count, compare you'd have a clue as to where that volume was coming from.
Remember, supply demand should be balanced. Anyone who says it is not, just doesn't know anything. So, Is it and has it been balanced over the recent weeks or so. if it is not balanced ask yourself why? Which side is the larger yet what happens with the price.
So enlightening if you know who to talk to. but you will need to know what to count.
So enlightening if you know with who to talk.
Anyway so what have i missed ? All very quite from ggp management for nearly a month so when will the share suspension come for the massive news we are all hoping for ?
Oh yeah, make a directors buy to firm up the SP and start selling in the background. Good old GH.
They need to get GH back as PR manager. he surely knew how to keep this up. lol
I wasn’t very academic in my school days (not much changed). My school reports had nothing good to say. But the only vaguely useful comment in them was “Mark would do well, to concentrate more on what he was doing, than concerning himself with what everyone else around him was up to.”
Shorts…..meh.
Great opportunity….yeah.
Agree Spy, but in all honesty, if I wasn't already invested here, I'm not sure I'd be buying in due to the uncertainty of where we go next. The risk v reward is still mismatched for some people, institutions etc.
I suspect its dropping mostly because quitley people are phucked off with SD & GGP not saying anything. not even to the point where they put out an rns saying they understood what was going on and were monitoring the ROLR. but they did absolutely nothing and dont say about the video conference because some probably never even watched it.
lack of info, even basic info.
Additional thought on my last post earlier today
I dread to think what our share price would be if the price of gold had taken a 20% hit
