Toblerone see my link below. 6.6billion $US?
@Spratt "the mid boggles"
My mid used to boggle all the time but during lockdown I exercised so much it's now pleasingly firm. ;)
Ah TMT thanks I’m forgetting the fund is in USD and our SP is in GBP.
Have any companies ever placed shares to GDXJ to facilitate the move.
Hydrogen thanks for taking the time to help me get my head around this.
Where does the 6.4 billion come from ? The GDXJ fund is worth 357,200,000 million so 1 % of that fund is 3,572,000 million and say GGP is 18p by Friday they would need to buy 19.8 million shares to get to 1% of the fund. 300 million shares equates roughly to 15 % worth of the GDXJ fund. So I don’t see that amount of buying.
Unless of course I have it all wrong.
Very unlikely to be 1%. AM90 figured it around 0.8%. But even if 1%, that would be around $64 million, at current exchange rate say £49 million to be put into GGP on 18 September.
If it's announced this Friday that we're going into the index at 1%, and £50 million will be invested on 18 September, the SP is going to be well above 20p by the time the 18th hits. It's likely to be above 25p. And if GDXJ is buying at 25p, their £50 million will buy 200 million shares.
There's no way they buy 300m. Not even close. If the buy is going to be huge, the SP will go up, which will reduce the number of shares. It will be shocking, amazing, glorious, spectacular, incredible, thrilling, marvelous, stunning, sensational (trying to help GH with superlatives here) if they buy 200m. It's likely to be 100-150m.
This SP rise that we are seeing right now is already starting to reduce the effect by reducing the number of shares they'll buy.
Not that anyone's complaining, LOL. The more it goes up between now and the 18th the fewer shares they'll buy.
I don't know about anyone else but the rise since Beetham sold out just feels so much better. What Karma after telling everyone else not to sell and then seeing it climb and climb like it has. Happy days. Not sell a bean of these. Love this share have been in since 0.43p.
the mid boggles @ 300m shares!..has to me one of most exciting times at GGP
I may be wrong, but I don't think we will see a sell off as big as we have before because because there is too much news to come.
Tig, that's bizarre. Perhaps someone said something on the thread that they didn't like and so they zapped the whole thing. I'm sure it wasn't you. The only comment of yours that I saw on the thread was a masterpiece to which no one could really object.
It must be hard to be a moderator, so I won't judge them harshly, and anyway, perhaps there was stuff I didn't see.
All the best to you, hope you can get your meetings going again soon!
MMS widened the spread, which aint having an effect on buying pressure.
San
In true GGP historic fashion - I wonder what the SP will be tomorrow after people sell*?
Are we going back down to 15p? or for a pleasant change, will we actually RISE on the news!
*PS, please don't sell - sit on your hands!
Knocking on 17.5 door again, there's double the buy orders to sell at mo
Sorry the percentage is not how much of the company the own but is the percentage of how much of the funds worth
spectacular...no other word needed
In reality how many shares would they purchase. Looking at their holdings there is only 1 company that has double figures on shares held by GDXJ. And that’s at 29 million with less than 1 % of the company.
We have currently 3.794 billion shares in circulation. So 1 % of GGP is 37 million shares . The lowest % they hold in a company is 0.09 and the highest is 6.7.
It will be interesting to see how it turns out.
Trucky you may be right, but there is no reason why GGP can’t continue as an exploration company with shares in producing mines .. providing a continual income steam !
@TMT -Looksl ike in the middle of a mediating love in, I have been excommunicated for a second time, the last for what ???
