I started trading GDR last year about this time between 140p and 180p, did this a few times selling around 165-170mark. Then I got a strong feeling this would go way over £2 ASAP, I was wrong! So instead of trading in and out I now had a large investment, if I remember right I bought that lot at around 180p expecting good news the following week. SP started to fall and I topped up, then topped up to have a large holding. There was a chance in Sept/Octo to get out with medium size profit, but TBH greed again took hold and despite the fact I knew the results would hammer the SP I held. That was the second mistake, by this point I am all in. I borrowed money from 3 of my companies, £40k, lead to £80k, to £120k to £130k, then came the vaccine news. I was out playing golf, check my phone all seemed ok, 2 holes later, devastation!! Watcher the SP drop to 55p over the next few days, got more loans and bought £40k at 55p then it dropped bought another £40k at 51p, it dropped further. Down at sub 40p I was in Dubai and put it past my sister, should I buy last lot of £40k. Reply was be stupid, have you not lost enough. Watched SP rise snd finally bought that £40k worth at 75p, thankfully it was good news for a change. This was part of my daughters inheritance and my life savings. I had until end of the tax year to pay all the loans back. I am Sure on 19 Jan I was down just less than £600,000. Few weeks later, starting selling at around 130p right up to around 150p, paid off my loans and credit card. The share was looking good and the strain was off.. Went on a trip to Maldives, life was good again, RNS landed as I got off the plane, took another loan of £50k and bought more at around 154p. Sp started to drop back into the 140s from the high of over 160p that day. RNS dried up and SP stalled. Got to the hotel isolation in the UK and mulled over the last results and the fact there had been no revenue generated, I think all LTH must have at least thought of this and sold down. I started selling my full holding around a million £ the two weeks before the results. Glad I did as we know what happened, I was glad for me but felt it for others. As a share I became addicted to GDR, took a huge part out of my day. But through it all I wish I had traded it like other LTH had been doing. However just did my tax return and from that year of lots of downs and few ups, holding was the best thing long term as I had made a profit of £275,000 on GDR, which from that lowest point is a huge turn around. In my opinion at this low Mcap, just hold your nerve, wait for the next rise as there will be one and don’t be greedy, take profit when you are happy with that amount. Good luck all LTH and the new holder maistro. From dog to saviour, I hope to read some similar stories soon from you lot!
Not reading all that
Long story short anyone?
managed a trip to the Maldives plays golf and been to Dubai. Also lent money to invest.
Jay was thinking of you, if you had sold at 90p several days ago at your app average of 80p you would have been up £10k, but instead you did what I did and held for the bigger prize, which so far has never came. You are sitting on a loss of around £5k. If you had sold your app 100k shares and rebought today you would be holding around 120,000 shares. As believe me others on this board is doing just that.
Yeah Dave. I’m just scared of getting locked out as they say…. I’m only jealous I’ve manage to get to wales haha.
Hahaha what’s your holidays got to do with anything you plank
Buy low, sell high is all hit needed to say
Dave
Fair play for your honesty. If anyone tries to paint a picture that investing is easy they are telling porkies. I know I have sailed close to the wind a few times in the last 25 years.
Have you ever thought of buying back into GDR? I'm interested as you have obviously researched the company in some detail?
Incog, to remember the journey of gdr and the big lows and small highs you remember where you were. Like when Elvis died, when you drop 30+% and lose a fair amount you remember. It was a journey that some are still on. Have you been buying low and selling high, took your own advice or held waiting going from in profit to back to a loss?
Only a prize numpty takes out a loan to invest in Stock & Shares. What happens if the stock tanks? Start with your own money, learn the ins and outs of the game and work your way up. Invest only what you can afford to lose, in no time you will be investing with profits earned not from loans. That's my advice and only my opinion but each to their own.
Yer but the Maldives sounds way more sexy than a coach trip to Bognor Regis.....PEEL still offloading I see,Where are they getting all this ammo from hmmmm....:-)
Nah mate I was around 50-60% up and got greedy , believed the hype and didnt think we’d release the worlds worse figures and still have no sales
About 25% down now and will more than likely cash out when I break even , Only way I won’t cash out at even is if we get some monster rns (hahahaha I know) and it flies way over the £1 mark

read India rns . bought shares . much different news due.
Stephen, yes is the short answer that Incog who can’t read long texts would like. If you look at the SP even on the day of the big drop of the results 66p has strong support. It crossed it once and I had plans to buy in at high 50s, but india landed. I posted a bit back about what I think and got accused of deramping. Which is weird as I am no 18 on GDR ramp list. But not being invested gives a different perspective. Without sales GDR has admitted they will need to raise. We know GHIF will sell the next tranch after 31 June. We know the if the new distributor for MoD is any good we should get sales in June/July, same dates for AIHL. Like the guys on here EUA must be in the next few weeks or never. Why has the directors not bought 1 share since the 80p placing, why has the corner stone investor sold and moved on? Do I think GDR will turn a corner, yes. I mulled over buying a fair amount the day before india news, but if had, I would have sold the lot that morning, then waited again. I just don’t understand why sales have not occurred, anywhere on covid, what happened to saliva, Europe sale, poc care kit. Yes, I will buy back in, but like I’m guessing lots of others, instead of watching my money decay, I’ll wait for the news and jump in then or if sp goes back to the 66p.
Those technical sell indicators can't be taken seriously at the moment, with the current mcap and with the news we're expecting it's just not worth the risk trying to trade it for a 5-10% cheaper entry at the risk IMO of being locked out when the next positive RNS lands. GDR's position has got better and better in the recent weeks, at some point it'll be reflected in the shareprice. It's interesting how greed can make one want to hold/buy more and also make one want to sell to buy back cheaper.
Great post Dave, what a journey! Glad you came out of it in profit.
MIKODX, I agree! Hence I recommended your post, but if I hadn’t in this case I would still be in as would not have made any profit hoping at 7am an RNS lands. So I’d say half daft and a tad lucky.
Fair reply Dave,
I see so much potential in this share in terms of the innovative products they bring to the diagnostics market, however information sharing from GDR can be frustrating. I do believe some sort of sales RNS would restore confidence in this share. I get that every sales order can't be RNS, but some sort of indication on sales, orders, or volumes is not an inconceivable aspiration. It might stop these fall backs and constant day trading.

Wow Dave balls of steal there.... well held chap.
I agree Stephen, AIHL looks to be the plan B and could do really well.
If FDA approval lands, what would be a fair BC/GDR American market share be, I’d guess 2% . There was around 6mill test done in the US last week. So that 2% would be 120,000 tests a week x 4 weeks and around £10 a test would equate to monthly profit of £4.8 mill a month. Does the guys on this board think these figures are over estimated or what?
On that 120,000 a month, 3 machines running 1500 test a day 7 days a week.
Surely to Duck BC can get 3 12 Biomerks on the gdr test.
3x 1500 x 28 = 126,000
Avacta to sell Covid-19 test in UK in "coming days"
Genedrive to start doing nothing in the coming days
Buyer picking up sellers shares .is B C. sales news close / India sales news close.
Remember the when Mr Buffet sold his AVCT@£1.20ish and piled all in here at £1.20ish....oops
