DaveMC if you read the words i chose carefully i have suggested that there may be some level of sales to offer some hope. Thats not too much of a quantum leap to beleive that scraps of good news have been suppressed for obvious reasons.
Franky the data reported is up until June 31st, so yes there is a small chance there have been sales from then onwards that have not been reported. However note the trading the update reports the current cash position, so any current sales wpuld have been reported as you suggest. Furthermore the cash balance is consistent with the cash balance as at March minus the burn rate, again suggesting no sales. No mentiins of any recievables either
More chance of June having 31 days in it, than GDR having sales. Wouldn’t you agree Dave?! :) lmao
Frankly, do you think therefore that Budd has to go… his shelf life has expired now that the company is supposedly in a commercial phase? He just can’t make that transition. There’s a world of difference between marketing and selling IMO.
Hiring in a sales director, plus his team of 7 people is not going to be cheap or happen quickly, and not guaranteed to work either.
Presumably the chairman needs to step up to the plate and find a replacement CEO before it gets to a shareholder vote to remove him from office?
I agree with other posters that the amount Budd is being paid is astonishing.
Agree Yozzer, more chance of me getting hit by lightning lol
I do think Budd has questions to answer. Critically money is needed for new product development and yet the revenue generated from previous products is clearly woeful. So whats the strategy. One can even argue ADHL is not a great investment. 5m domestic market is small and overseas is much tougher as govts all look after thrir own. I can see this money get burned up fast and the same all over. No way will genedrive be self sustaining in 2 yrs. Therefore the level of progress needs to be impressive enough for a buy-out which is what ll happen in time. There needs to be genuine progress and honest clear comms not smoke and mirrors to fudge it.
Starres, Franky is correct AIHL is not tge golden goose it was portrayed to be. DB at the time said is was £45m per annum, but failed to mention the UK market is just £5m. That is very small and they've not even managed to sell thisthe UK, apart from 3 sites that took part in the trial. The demand for such a product is clearly not there, otherwise a big diagnostics firm would have developed one years ago, and nothing stopping them from doing so now if the demand was there. Govts worldwide don't just buy any diagbostic kits that come to the market, and the demand clearly has to be high for them to do. With a market size of just £5m, it clearly isn't a big problem. It is however a great product from a ethical point of view, but govts worldwide are not in the business of ethics, clearly demonstrated furing this pandemic. They will be raising again in 12-18 months.
Starrenstoff - My thought is that a titchy UK business is unlikely to create a global monopoly for the AIHL test. There will be overseas competitors driving out other solutions to the same problem I would imagine? If there aren't then its because the segment is too small and other players see it as too niche and unprofitable to focus on. Indeed, this is the Genedrive problem. They have to find a lot of niches and small overlooked markets to prosper as the bigger boys are focused on larger markets, so its tough to play in this space for sure. Of course it can be done but you have to have a very well defined strategy and be ruthlessly focused that the investments made, yield a decent return. This hasn't happened with the existing products and the definition of madness is to do the same things and expect a different outcome. I do think the MCAP can double up over the next 12 months as there will be progress, but I'll be bailing waaaaaay before 2023. at 78p I will probably write of 20K in 12 months rather than the 40K now. Budd will have to generate interest at some point so expect billy Bulls7T to come good in the spring.
Davemac
Agree with you there ans obviously db agrees ,hence only a 20k investment, and that would have been a token gesture
TBF DB can't very well buy 100,000 off the bat. He'd look like a mad crook doing that and be subject to FCA investigation for manipulating the SP. Which he should be anyway.
Franky no he wouldn't. If the FCA suspect any wrongdoing, it does not matter of you buy £10, £100, £10k, or £100k worth. How does the amount make a different if a crime has been commited, use your brain ffs. It's a bit like saying you could rob a bank but don't take more than £500 as the police won't bother looking for you, whereas if you take £500k they will come looking for you. It is the act itself that matters.
DB has taken part in the placing, he just knows it's not worth throwing £100k in this scam
I'm not passing on any opinion about the BOD's investment level but it is my understanding from the RNS is that the quoted investment figures for the board members e.g. £20k for DB are based on the Open Offer allotment of 2 for every 7 owned and then rounded up by purchasing through the Excess Entitlement scheme.
I'm probably totally wrong but the figures seem to suit.
However, it would instill a lot more confidence to see greater investment by the BOD from the open market (if they are currently permitted to do so).
Wow. You win for patronising arrogant fool of the day then. Mind yourself. FCA have limited resource for investigating approved folk. So will they investigate everyone suspected of poor practice or those who stick their head above the parapet? Sticking 100k down for example on the day you as director you announce a 40% discount on your stock is called asking for trouble. 10k/20k probably not.
Use your brain then before making stupid comments. Your logic is still flawed, so just making things up as you go along.
You can't patent the concept as such. If it were possible every diagnostic firm would be doing so, and you'd only be able to buy certain device from one facturer, yet you can buy same products from the likes of BC, Abbot, Roche etc ... and other technological devices (smart phone for example, yet you can buy smart phone from any manufacturer, laptop concept of a portable computer)
What you can patent is the design, so just means somone can copy your design, they need to develop ig slightly different and achieve the same goal. Just shows the demand is not them and just like a University research lab, Genedrive just are there to prove a cobcept and move on to the next research project for the next 3 years funded by a grant.
Interesting (or not) the inclusion of a 29.9% aggregate holding limit in the documentation this time around. Wasn’t the case last year but then again they knew who were taking most of the shares last year.
GDR is the pharmaceutical equivalent of gypsies tarmacking your drive. We have taken GDR far too seriously. Is 25p an attractive price? No.
sorry for my remark earlier. Obviously comparing GDR to gypsies is extremely ****** and unfair on the gypsy movement. I apologize.
Mr Budds overpromising and under-delivering remakrs remind me of Hyacinth Bucket in Keeping Up Appearances.
Starres you ate blinded by optimism pal. The AIHL is worth a maximum of £5m a year in the UK, and even if by some miracle they manage to roll it out to every site in the UK, at 50% margin it doesn't even cover the £5m a year in expenses Genedrive need to keep the lights on!!! The cashburn is far too high for a little research and development outfit
Mr Bruno, many longterm investors would've love an average of 26p. Will Mr Budd announce a big enough contract before the year end? I think he's crossing his fingers (but that's about all he is doing).
@mcmanus,
It took <4hrs to complete the 24,000,000 share placing, last Friday. I take it they are All Blind in your mind too ?
You must be very dis-appointed that went so well ??
Yes, this is the elephant in the room, how or why the investors were convinced and what they were told and promised ? At the end of the day, it looks as a bargain that you can purchase share at 25-26p on the market, when the investors could buy only at 25p, 2 for 7 shares that they are holding. So if you were not a holder before, now buying directly at this price should be a good deal. Of course I could be wrong.

Both Jaceorge and Guy_Incognito are 'Clueless Idiots' and 'Proven Liars'. Why would someone have a Posting name like 'Incognito', other than the he/she is (''Incognito'' )?
Every post they write has a negative tone. If I believed the 'same' old rubbish they publish, I would have sold out of GDR ages ago. Unless of course they do not own GDR Shares, and are paid Trolls - this does seem to fit with the tone of their Tandem Posts ?
True believers in GDR stay because we believe Great News can drop anytime, and as dis-appointing as it is that this News has not dropped yet, we believe Great News will come:- Some of the reasons why I have invested in GDR :-
So much Great News coming Our way over the coming Days/Weeks, and Months, that I really do not know what to expect First or Second or Third or Fourth or Fifth etc, etc ? !
Will it be Sales in South Africa ?, or will it be other Africa Approvals/Sales ?, or will it be WHO Approval ?, or will it be ICMR Approval?, or will it be FDA/EUA Full Approval ?, or will it be BC Hyper News ?, or will it be DOD ?, or will it be HCV ?, or will it be POC ?, or will it be AIHL ?, or will it be any of the expected Approvals, followed by Sales in Quick Succession ?, or will it be UK Sales ?, or will it be European Sales ?, or will it be News of a Takeover ?, or Approvals/Sales in any combination of the 11 Countries we sent test Kits too ? !!!
Just So Much, So Much, to come !
Keep the Faith Guys.
Great Times Ahead For All !!!
Surprised this deluded ****e for brains has front to talk about anything aside from fishing
