cream of the crop is still rising Chequemate/Bigtosh. Dodging the bullets of brexit/ trade wars and currency fluctuations too.
sold any of my initial 6000 shares bought in at around 60p or so!. Oh well, could have been far worse. If only I hadn't sold half my holdings at around 389p just back in April. As I posted then it is never a good idea to deal in shares when we are experiencing a bad day. Still, I am more relaxed on the whole with my meagre 500 remaining shares. And I would always rather gain slowly with less than lose quickly with more taking a gamble. Although that is blindingly obvious for most of us it isn't played out that way for many. BT - thanks for your kind thoughts and concerns. I have just returned from my 2nd visit South. I have managed to do one or two things to try and ease things. My mother is so stubborn at times though (unlike me! ......... ahem!; don't know where I get it from!). Makes one realise how important it is to make the most of the time we have and when we have it. Cockapoos energetic?; come on BT, you know you love every minute. Re search dogs. Training in the woods last time. I was on one side of the river, the dog (Sam) and his handler was on the other side. River is no obstacle to the dog of course and he decided to take the short cut!. The swim cooled him down too!. Handler was left on the far side watching his dog make the find. There was a bridge about 1/4-1/2 mile away. Great fun and not the first time Sam has swam the river to find me. Sam and I are particularly close and I am sure he knew it was me by my scent.......yeah, ok........!. Brexit - that's being brave mentioning Brexit. On other boards we would be shot down in flames if we dared to suggest that it could possibly be anything but a good decision. Must go. Regards and good luck to all CM
Coincidence I assure you, I always like to give finals a couple of days to sink in before checking back. It can take a short while for folks to read and digest. I didn't see the 560 spike but did see mid 540's, which is all fine by me. You are right re Brexit and no trade deal yet. Most of my FTSE 250's have been knocked back a fair bit over recent weeks and months. They are good companies though and I expect a bounce once the final shape of the deal is revealed. But GBG powers on regardless. Regards BT
I see you posted just after the 560p spike. In contrast to my mood over brexit and its bad effect on stocks this share is doing well.
Hi Guys, Just checking back here to see how the results faired in the market. A nice lift back up to peak (ish). As Doze said the big jump came on the prelims but the finals always show more detail and the global spread plus the strong BS & divi growth will have helped too. 18 countries caught me by surprise and just shows what their reach is like now. Won't hold at this lvl, some pullback is to be expected but always nice to see and 600 here we come. If only I hadn't offloaded a few at 300ish or whatever it was, maybe a year ago - where's that bloody Jura!! CM I am very sorry to hear about our filly. Everyone here wishes her a speedy recovery. Your priorities are right there, where you are - you only ever get 1 mum. Maybe a ramp or something substantial to hold onto as she goes over the back step? I'm sure you will sort it. Hope all is well elsewhere. Great weather to be out with the dogs at night. If you'd like 2 Cockapoos let me know. They are truly wonderful and we love 'em to bits...but they are veeeeeeeeeeeery energetic. We were a fair but younger the last time we had pups around. Building going well and on target for moving in before Xmas. Our married daughters current house is far too small to have us over for Xmas but the new one is much bigger and that's the target this year. Not sure who's cooking the turkey, other than it won't be me. Sorry have go more deliveries. I'm the unpaid site foreman here too!! Take care both guys and look after Red Rum CM. Best wishes BT
results already in the price it would seem. I could sense the global expansion Bigtosh, now emphasized International Expansion International revenues increased from 31% to 34% of our total business Continuing to make significant progress across EMEA and APAC regions Now employ over 800 people across 18 countries
Good evening BT, good to hear from you. Lets hope the results give the share price if not a boost then at least firmer support. These days though one just never knows. I am South for the 2nd time in as many weeks after Red Rum took another fall at Beeches Brook, or rather the back step. She was carted off to hospital. Thankfully no breaks nor fractures just bruising around the eye and internally to the chest. Much confusion which is ongoing at present. Not good at any age but at 92 even worse. I am spending some time here and assessing the situation and needs. Rather puts other things into perspective. Hope all is well with you and Mrs BT. Keep the dogs away from the Jura. Building work progressing to plan? Keep well CM
Just checking in and very quiet here. We continue to cycle up and down on no real news or expectation and that seems now to be the norm with so many shares. Final results detail due this week which, I'm guessing, won't give us another all time high but should reawaken interest. Always sobering to look back and the 12 month low in the 320's. Been a rather good year for holders here and I for one expect that to continue. CM, Doze hope you are both well, everything good here. Keep the faith guys and GLA BT
546p
good idea to treat yourself Bigtosh. This business can be useful globally with a few more deals.
This is very nice indeed and we hit another all time high, Sobering to look at 323 only 10 months ago. Such is the strength of this business. A Jura or maybe 2 in a while methinks. GLA BT
We are cycling back and forth again but can't complain at another record high and nice to hit the Bank Holiday at c520. Good luck to all and have a great w/e. Don't forget the sun cream.....long time since I've said that. CM hope all is well with you. My advice as ever is hold if you can and here we come 600. GLA BT
I agree as safe bets are hard to come by at the moment and has just come out of a few months of flat sp so trend still up.
Where did todays' rise come from?. I asked last Wednesday, "is there something going on in the background?"; I ask again, is there something going on in the background?. Robbie Burns, the Naked Trader, has mentioned on his blog in the past, he wouldn't be surprised if at sometime there is a takeover bid for GBG. Why the sudden huge rise last week and then a big move again today?, although 12p at 500p is far less % than at 200, 300 or 400p of course. Interesting, verrrrry interesting!. Enjoying this period of gains after a sorry start to the year. Good luck and regards CM
strong support, full year results week commencing 4 June 2018 will be good I expect.
Tend to agree BT. Expected a larger fall today. Didn't expect a rally mid morning/afternoon. Tomorrow will be interesting after today. GLA CM
We've held up very well today given the meteoric rise yesterday. No complaints from me; still a lot of interest shown in the shares. Thanks for the post MickTK, always nice to get an SP upgrade.. Normally they are out of touch with reality but that looks pretty relevant to me. Let's see what happens over coming days but it's been a good start to the week. GLA BT
SP UPGRADE........... GB Group PLC GBG Berenberg Buy 489.75 509.00 460.00 560.00 Reiterates SP target now 560p.
roughly 3.6 million of them which you can divide by 2 but all well above the retail price so looking good for tomorrow.
Staggered at todays rise. Far more than I would have thought was justified from the RNS. Is there something more to the share price rise?. Is there something going on in the background?. The rise in share price will not have gone un-noticed by many investors and it would not surprise me to see this board become busier suddenly. Hopefully, it will remain free of those jumping on the band wagon and ramping the share to high heaven. If and when the hordes appear and the posts beccome extra bullish with ramping galore, then it is often the time to make a hasty exit (from past experience elsewhere). Sensible discussion can go out of the window. The share price may (temporarily) be driven higher by such. After such a rise (over 23%!), it is most unlikely for the share price not to retrace over the next few days/week or so. Let us not get carried away with one exceptional day, but let us enjoy the evening. PC - I understand your sentiment completely. Good luck to you. I am sorely tempted to follow you, not because I don't believe in GBG but simply I believe the share price has at least temporarily got way ahead of itself. I would have thought a more realistic price would be around 450-470p but the market is the market. IF I do sell out then I too would look to buy back in, possibly very shortly. However, when I have tried that tactic in the past it has usually not worked out. BT - I am nursing a very sick bike at present, whilst waiting for a new one to be built. My present steed has done me very many miles (>130,000) so it is time to retire it. Like me it is showing wear and tear and cracking in the tubes. Very sad time in all honesty as it has very great sentiment value to me due to the sad reason why I bought it in the first place. Sleep well folks Regards CM
Those trades you refer to, are not after hours trades, they are trades made during the day and only reported after hours. Not uncommon for large trades, either buys or sells, outside of the market size to be reported after hours, so they don't influence the share price unduly during the day. CM
didn't think I'd see you again so soon Bigtosh - exceptional day 509 UT have these big after hours trades any relevance https://bit.ly/2H99sQ2
Yah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Agree with every comment below. Is there a stronger or more relevant company on AIM? Answer no GLA BT
