Ridiculous and a complete buying opportunity
""I have to agree with you Pearls. Big MA stepping back for me is not a good thing""
The price is rallying away up 8percent market's like the change
There are bullish comments from investment bank Peel Hunt on Mike Ashley's Frasers, which last week confirmed rumours it had begun plans to replace the big man at the helm with his son-in-law.
Analyst Jonathan Pritchard described a presentation on Thursday as 'the most enlightening we have ever seen' from the group, with clear plans for growth.
That includes a strategy for 'exponential' growth in sales of luxury goods, spearheaded by Flannels, while focusing on the sports participation at Sports Direct and potentially diverging from fierce rivalry with JD.

I have to agree with you Pearls. Big MA stepping back for me is not a good thing. Well done to his replacement but I am not sure how the City will react to the nepotism in the replacement and the relative inexperience. Frasers (and Sports Direct) and all the licensing brands are big global concerns and there are many capable CEO's out there with many years of corporate expereince and contacts. I am surprised the appointment got past governance.
Just brought in this morning new CEO will be good for business plus Mike recruiting from with in the family a bit of nepotism goes on all the time, along with the buyback can see this really boosting share price
No wonder many shareholders are now selling the shares with big MA stepping down.
Frasers Group to buy Paperchase?
If I was him, I'd do the deal on Debenhams then bin the HOF sites en-masse, and either convert them to Debenhams format or close them, they are a drain on Frasers resources. I'd then refocus the Debenhams website to cover all of Frasers output.
Frankly, MA is the king of the high street.
Took the profit on Frasers. It was just too tempting.
Up 15% now.
Excellent. That's bout 20% in the last 3 days.
Mike Ashley has to be a candidate for new King of the High Street.
I make that a tidy 10% since I took my interest.
Mr Ashley is a fantastic deal maker at picking up assets out of administration.
Let us see what he can acquire this time and his Frasers Dept stores should benefit from 1 less Dept store chain on the high Street. The Debenhams website and the European stores havew to be the prize assets.
Sorry to use the Echo feed for this. But I really feel sorry for the small Pi’s that lost their money when Debenhams collapsed because the BOD wouldn’t sell to Mike Ashley. Small PI’s would have received something if it went ahead. However the BOD unbelievably did everything they could to ignore him. Fraser group which Mike Ashley controls is about to buy Debenhams out of administration so he’s got his way. Whilst small PI’s get nothing. Trading sometimes really sucks!
A combination of House of Fraser and DEB would be a powerful entity on the high street. it would have very powerful buying power and hold over major suppliers.
I can see MA picking up some / all of DEB more than him picking up parts of Arcadia as HOF / DEB are the place to sell such brands, not little shops like Wallis etc.
It's a question of controlling / dominating the supply chain. I thoroughly expect a major announcement now.
Can anyone clarify: does his 30% shareholding still count at all?
Should let us get back to normaility quicker than some had expected.
Lets see what bargains Mike Ashley picks up for any recovery in the next year.

Aside from anything else, if all these brands disappear from the high street, will it be worth visiting anymore? You're talking about the loss of a lot of well known and respected brands.
Are we all going to have to buy our clothing from Asda or Tesco in the future?
Why didn't those idiots running DEB last year do the deal with big Mike and forget their inflated egos? Now all the staff lose.
Hopeless and pointless but that is the state of management at many companies nowadays.
If Mike can salvage something I'm sure he'll give it a go as Allders is not a good enough proposition on its own. Now he can buy DEB and combine the operation, as well as have significant control on the supply lines.
Let's hope he does it right this time.
Arcadia into Administration and Debenhams now confirming it is going the same way.
This should have a positive impact on Mike Ashley's group's sales what with 2 High street chains of competitors set for closure. Not only that but the assets and brands and websites will be there to pick up off the receivers for a fraction of their value. He will have his eyes on Debenhams European assets.
My heart goes out to all those staff of both chains who have been through the mill for the last few years and what a terrible time of year for this to happen to anyone.
Another pound coming off the share price following another investigation! Not sure what Mike has ever done to upset the guardian but they are trying to create another Boohoo type scandal
No sooner did I mention pinned down, and she's off!
I think it's pinned somewhat by the negative association with retail in general, especially INTU. Which locally to me houses a good proportion of the HofF and SD stores. Football season concluding and subdued football following due to no live attendance and not even pub group TV viewing. Evans could be doing better it IMHO, their online experience not quite as good as market leader Wiggle, and again physical store element (best way to buy a bike) held back.
The upside when these start to improve should be significant but when? A few false starts so far, and volume sporadic.
Be nice to see more opinions in general!
Media & twitter have gone mad. I don't follow the football community much but the takeover of Castore and seemingly exclusivity of the Rangers kit from August is certainly going to have an effect! Media & twitter talking about a boycott that Rangers have had since last year so that spices things up a bit haha..
any thoughts?
Does anyone know if Mike gets the £3 hundred million for Newcastle FC were does the money go and will if effect the share price
Dear , everybody , I am really sorry I have caused serious damage to the business and my personal wealth by my ridiculous actions. Yours sincerely Mike!
