Looks like back to sub £5 again Monday. Grrr. Fuel is about to get very expensive again.
Nice add back opportunity from 586p tyvm
Easy jet may be has one flight a week to tel viv.???
Boselecta, thank you for your experienced comment re investment.
I'll ask Warren Buffet if he sells every Friday or when there are geopolitical risks.
Obviously, him making over €200 billion isn't in your league as a world renowned investment analyst!.
Seriously, get a life.
@Max. Likewise I hold as I’m in for the medium to long term. Only got into shares 18 months ago, quite a novice but I’m doing nicely. Got in September 2022 at just under 280, topped up over 3-4 months after that and again this year. Only hold 2500 (I’m small time, not a pro) but my average is 339. If this falls below 500 I’ll be increasing my stake by 10% or so. Picked up quite a lot of knowledge/info from being on this board. Glad Nutmeg no longer posts!! GLA!
What a spread across the week!
I usually just hold but considering topping up at this price in update week. Just watching Iran, surely they are smarter than the Russians. Irans leaders care not for people of Gaza.
Not selling a single share. Average is 3.79 and fully believe these will hit north of 7 quid no problem by end of the year. EasyJet holidays are a massive growth engine imo. GLA and happy Friday....🍻
Bravo @boselecta
And if there is some kind of counter attack let’s hope it’s intelligent and targetted and precise and quick
Some investors might not want to be in over the week-end due to geopolitical issues amongst other reasons. However, I saw the near on ten percent drop this week to buy in near the close.
Given nothing happens over the week-end, which is more often the case than not, then a bounce could be reasonably expected on Monday and maybe follow through to Tuesday.
I am looking for the double whammy though. Therefore, I expect results on Thursday to be well ahead of expectations. I would then sell this hort term trade.
Britain's mid-cap FTSE 250 index slipped 0.3%, with airline operator Wizz Air tumbling 8.2% on concerns about higher fuel costs because of tensions in the middle East.
Other airline stocks including EasyJet and British-Airways owner IAG fell 4.3% and 3.8%, respectively.
No so stupid
Why would Israel retaliate? It doesn’t want a war with Iran & Iran doesn’t want to attack Israel, but it has to show some form of strength after the Israel strike in Syria. It’ll all fizzle out between the two as neither want this. But you keep trying to indirectly deramp EZJ and stick to the university politics in the pub
For people who may have not seen.

The danger is that oil prices could rise masively if Israel destroys Iranian oil instalations in retaliation to attack. Both of these countries are known to have developed atomic weopons too. Hope it won't get as bad as that.
I've been sat watching easyjet for while now. I got in before the conflict in the east started but, hay ho. I think the conflict / possibility of a retaliation is being aggressively used to drive the share price down before the trading update and the half year results. Easyjet only have limited flights out to Israel and Iran as they are primarily based in European destinations.
As we can see, there are 5 buy and 3 holds against this share, with information realised earlier today in a news article showing that analyst are happy were Easyjet are. Most of the money will be coming from European flight snd package holidays. They already have at least 55% of the future fuel cost coveted either thr possibility of this number being higher. This meant the jump in oil price shouldn't effect them heavily.
Personally, I think this is a great time to top up if you ate looking to hold for a mid to long term investment. Yes, there is conflict happening in the world, especially in the middle east, Russia and Ukraine, but I thing a strong trading update will help this share flourish.
Easyjet are in good position, aerospace as a hole is growing strongly. I'm topping uo every time it hit a new low. This will go over £6 at some point, its just when and how low you where able purchase or top up.
GLA
I hold the view that this will see the 495-505 area .... PROBABLY BECAUSE I'D LIKE TO BUY IN AT OR SHORT IT TO THIS NUMBER.... yawn
Exactly. Last year the stock price dropped a lot because there was a forest fire on ONE Greek island. Like that one Greek island was the only destination. Unless everything goes to hell, this Iran thing technically won't affect many of Easy Jets destinations. People like to panic
Also, we are forgetting that Putin may try and take over a major city in Ukraine.. this is also massive news. I think stock is floating between 5-6 until we see any sort of real progress in both of these conflicts
Looking more and more likely that we'll see 495-505 area.
"Wig, it doesn't have to be on the same day. The SP is looking for downside again. I assume that's MM's looking for volume to encourage trading (and get their fees). I still hold the view that a close below 536 would make the 495-505 area very likely."
You can thank me later
Hi Garonne,
Sort of agree with your view - if I'm honest, I stick with Reuters reporting as they seem to be the most accurate and rather than the other 'frenzied' nonsense that is called news by other organisations and including the pathetic BBC.
So why travel stocks have been hit 'again' this pm, is that the BBC is reporting that they've 'been told' that Iran will imminently launch a tirade of rockets and drones against Israel!!??
As I say, read the Reuters link below which was posted yesterday and for me anyways, MUCH, MUCH more believable and more in line with your thinking.......
https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/iran-aims-contain-fallout-israel-response-wont-be-hasty-sources-say-2024-04-11/
No chance of a war! Basically we know this can be ten percent higher (it was) plus I'd say a conservative extra 10 per cent when the results come out on the 18th. Read this and remind me in a week or so.... Top up time
Talking about EasyJet, not the other “pulling out” this share is pathetic
EUR/USD is set to fall this year, what impact you think this has on value of this stock?
There won't be a Middle East war. It's all talk and bluster. The Iranians don't want big bangs coming to their homestead especially if it were to be their prized nuclear facilities. They know Israelis will do it if they attack Israel.
