Not too sure of the rules Hydras but I would have thought that if the Directors received a bid, even a hostile bid, then they would have to inform the Shareholders even if they might lose their lucrative jobs.
One wonders why any of them are not buying shares at the current level.
Is it because:-
A:they are not allowed to at the moment, or is it
B:that they haven't any confidence in their ability to achieve anything positive?
Itsawrap, if UJO do bid for or merge with EOG, then the whole of the EOG management team would have to go. I also believe that, for UJO to be involved at all with EOG, then EG project would be sold off and Serenity and Ireland hived off to the highest bidder , to build up capital for the expansion of the USA venture if Andrew 1-17 is a successful. Doubt that EOG Directors will want to leave their fat salaries so IMHO it is very unlikely to happen.
I wonder if Europa will "do a Bramhill" and follow UJO into the US market, anything to create some interest in this company and to find another income stream. UJOs finals are out later this month so we should have some transparency on how successful the foray into the US market is / has been. If the US proves to be a great success, perhaps UJO could make a bid for Europa, cash & the 6.3m Treasury shares.
EOG Directors starting to see some sense at last. Today's decision shows the Directors are starting to move away from the UK's ultra expensive, over regulated and very risky oil and gas development projects which are only for the extremely rich, big oil companies. Directors will hopefully now look at more tangible, near term return developments with little risk involved to ensure the companies Wressle revenue stream, when it degrades in the next couple of years , can be easily maintained or improved. Earn your big fat salaries Directors and invest the revenue from the Wressle cash cow very wisely. Investors obviously need to see some return with a growth in the sp or dividends or BB. otherwise the company will sink. Change direction and strategy and cut the management costs and the sp will start to grow . Try it !!
@Aimshame. I thought your summary last week of situation was well measured and to the point - pretty much agreed with all that you said then - if perhaps a little more hopeful on Ireland.
Okay my mistake that he was CEO but he was on the BOD. The bottom line is they are not getting the share price up, it is going down and they really need to pull a rabbit out of the hat because people are getting even more frustrated.
WH was appointed CEO 15th March 2023 - not Jan 2023. In any case at the time everyone was getting excited about the licensing round. What a relief that they haven’t gone for anything. Guess if people knew then what they know now, pretty much no one would have shown interest.
Well I don't think he knows what he is talking about because the gas basin is the only area that hasn't been announced, so the block must have been in the gas basin.
Well that was a waste of money and time. I am sure consultants were being paid like Jamie White at ££. The application would have been made in Jan last year so WH was in place as CEO. They certainly are deploying Europa's money in other projects, it is called project 'Let's make Management Rich'.
All info is on the NSTA website for a list of new licences that were available in the 33rd round.
My suspicion is that this is Tain, and means Serenity is dead. In my view it's actually a good thing as I can't see that project progressing and would be another puppy dogs and rainbows talking point for the inept management at EOG. There would be another eternal wait for the mythical farm-in partner, take a look at Deltics RNS.......
Licencing Round 33 refers specifically to the North Sea so definitly nothing to do with the Irish Licence and I think the RNS even refers to this.
i3e have not issued an RNS - so nothing to do with Serenity either. Vernetles on the i3e BB said it referred to a licence just north of Tain.
What was this license actually for?
Maybe I'm a bit out of the information on this one but I'm assuming its nothing to do with Inishkea (Big project) or Serenity (as with i3) or anything to do with recent main land projects (as with other partners as well.
So how important is this and what was it for?
Any information would be appreciated.
Cheers
There are none so blind as those that do not want to see!! Be extremely careful!!
Let’s hope inishkia gets the go ahead
Inishkia will change things here
Gerry - if he makes enough claims and predictions on enough days, one day he will be right by chance and then he can tell us all how right he was and how he told us so and that we should have listened to him etc....
Hydras. There were 852,340 shares bought today and 681,633 sold!
Adnatrob, are you buying, then? Very little risk... do you honestly think it will not go any lower? Since June of last year, the stock has been effectively on a straight line downward trajectory, so unless there are some fundamental changes, it will continue IMHO. Development of every asset in the portfolio relies on someone else performing. Farminees, governments and operators. It is a doomed strategy, I'm afraid. At least UJO pay dividends.
Roughly as many buys today as sellers - so maybe the buyers know something we don’t. (Used exact same type of posts on UJO last month)
Good opportunity for buyers. Won't take much for this to lift off, and when it does, it moves quickly. Financially strong so very little risk.
Lots of seller's out today, do they know something?? Not one buyer yet? Dropping like a stone now!! Best to get out while you can.
She was a former cabinet minister and will be in future if there was a ff/sf coalition
Quote: “if the Government is serious about addressing the economic disparity between Dublin and the west of Ireland, it must reconsider its relationship with Eamon Ryan and the Green Party's climate-change agenda.”
But let’s hope vermillion are successful in their fast tracked case on that windfall tax .if so, maybe use it to finance Eog drill
I am more optimistic re Ireland than before .The greens will be gone within the year , neither Sinn Fein or FF will want them .
Very interesting to see Lisa chambers , the most influential FF in Mayo publicly distance herself from the greens
